EARTH
A ship laid on one of the landing pads on Cetus, inside the ship was The Lotus, some might call her the mother of Tenno due to her involvement with them. But that was not what mattered, the Grinner were making their next big step. She discovered from another Tenno operator that the Grineer were planning on not only are they taking their revenge on the Origin System, but the rest of the systems that were near the Origin System.
She decided to power on one of the empty Tenno ships and activate the Cephalon that was connected to the ship. The Cephalon's name was Ordis, he had been deactivated for too long, now he had been reactivated to take on a new mission.
"Lo... Lotus?!" Ordis exclaimed Lotus nodded. "What do you need?" Ordis continued, Lotus looked at the Cephalon. "Ordis I have an important mission for you." She said. "Okay, Lotus, what is it that you need down.?" She pointed to her left where a Tenno would have decided what gear he wanted to use, in its place was a deactivated Excalibur. "I want you to take that Excalibur out of this system and I want you to go to the nearest system from us. The Grineer are planning not only mass genocide here; but in the days that are to follow, in other systems."
"But, my Lotus, how will... is there even a possibility that the Excalibur or another frame could link with a non-tenno?" Ordis says, concern clearly shown from his voice. "I have seen a strong signal from the nearby system that I mentioned who can be compatible with using Excalibur. I want you to travel there at top speeds to get there as soon as possible and land as close as you can to the signal without being seen because I'll whisper a message that only the being with the signal can here." Lotus explains.
"Why is the Excalibur empty of no Tenno Lotus? Why not just bring an already experienced Tenno?" Ordis asks; The Lotus doesn't answer immediately, but then she says. "The Tenno are still at their core humans and the speeds you will be going at Ordis would most likely force pressure onto them, killing them in the end and it wouldn't matter whether or not they were in their frame, it will not protect them."
"I understand Lotus," Ordis said; Lotus nodded and blinked out of the vessel. Then her voice was then heard again, but only Ordis could hear it. "Ordis, I am currently sending the coordinates soon." Then moments went and then he got them. "Alright Lotus, I have them." Ordis then activated the ship's thrusters and the vessel started to rise from the ground and soon shot out of the atmosphere and into the black abyss of space.
From below, Konzu, an old man and bounty giver to the Tenno saw as the ship flew off and sighed. He started to walk towards his home, he then saw a Loki he spoke to earlier walk past him, he turned. "Hey, Tenno!" The Loki turned and looked at him. "Did you take care of the Grineer's new boss man yet?" The Loki simply nodded and then took from his storage the head of the now-dead Grineer commander, Konzu's eyes widened and he quickly hobbled over to the Tenno. "No, no, why do you bring the boss man's head? Go back to the gate and throw it away, quickly, before the children see! Sho! Sho!" The Loki nodded and quickly bullet jumped away to the gate.
Konzu sighed and shook his head. "Tenno these days." He stood there for a few moments before turning around to go to his hut. "Well, time for early supper!"
Remnant
Jaune bolted up from his bed, he looked around and saw his dorm that he shared with his three other new roommates. It was dark, he only could assume that it was either midnight or very early into the morning. Just a yesterday he had somehow survived his initiation of Beacon and now he was the leader of his team, it was something he wasn't sure he could handle the role at all, Pyrrha seemed way more fit for it than him.
He shook away the thought, he sat up and sat there on his bed, feeling as if there was a reason to why he woke up and why he felt the sudden urge to move, then he heard it. "Tenno." He quickly looked to his right, nothing. "Tenno." The voice said again, he still didn't see anyone, but what he did hear was that it was a woman. "Crap, don't tell me this place is haunted." He mutters under his breath, trying to not wake up his other teammates.
He picks up his scroll and looks at the time, 12: 47 AM, he sighs and rubs his eyes, yawning. He puts it into the pocket of his onesie and then he hears it again, but the voice said more. "Tenno, follow me, I need your help, follow my voice." He was at this point befuddled, who or what was talking to him and why was it calling them Tenno?
He decided he needed to see for himself so changed into his normal combat outfit and went on his way. As he walked through the hallway the disembodied says something else. "Tenno, you must come and answer the call, you must take up arms." He was still confused as one could be in this situation, he finally arrived at the elevator and then he punched in the button for the first floor.
A minute later, he arrives at the first floor, he goes through the front doors of the school quietly and makes his way outside. It was still dark but he was able to still see everything, he walked through the courtyard and then the voice came again. "You getting nearer, hurry." Jaune then transitioned into a jogging movement as he ran in the direction of the voice, each time it spoke, it got louder.
Then he stopped, Emerald Forest, where they had their initiation. He heard the voice again. "I am in the forest, you are very close, not much more and you'll find me." He slid down onto the lower lands of the forest, where the Grimm were, even acknowledging this, he didn't feel any fear at all, in fact, he felt quite confident. Then as he made a turn around a tree, he saw it.
It was a fairly big ship. "Tenno you have arrived, come into the ship to receive your frame." Jaune then raised his eyebrows in confusion. "What? Frames?" Jaune was going to continue but stopped as he heard the voice again. I will explain everything you need to know once you are inside." Jaune didn't have much choice he thought, and then he entered, his eyes opening wide from their half sleepy state.
"Woah." Jaune looked around the room in amazement. Then he saw a figure just kneeling on the floor with both of his knees and he had his head hung low. He looked like a strange humanoid being, it was white, black, with red accents. He walked up to it and he looked at it. "Put your palm on his shoulder." Jaune did as he was told and then he felt like he was absorbed into the being.
His vision went black for a moment before his vision came back, he checked himself until stopped to look at his hands, they were black and white almost as he was, the being that he saw kneel. "Congratulations, you are now in control of Excalibur." Jaune in his new body; shook his head. "Why is this thing me?!" He exclaimed, emphasizing the word thing, then he realized he said that even though physically, he had no mouth. The voice sighed. "You are still yourself, but you are an operator now, you and your Warframe are one."
"Warframe?" Jaune says. "The Warframe is like a shell, but you, the operator, make it more than just a shell. As much as you need the Excalibur for strength, it needs you for your mind." She explains, Jaune calmed down a little. "Well, what if I do want to get out of this?"
"You can, it is technically armor at the end of the day, now I want to tell you why out everyone, I chose you." Jaune nods and the voice continues. "There is a threat coming from our system to yours, it is an old enemy of ours called the Grineer. They are planning on not only trying to take over the Origin System, but also the neighboring systems around it." Jaune nods again. "But that doesn't explain why you chose me of all people to have this."
"It is because I received a signal that indicated that you were capable of using Excalibur and only you on this entire planet has that ability. But this an important responsibility and not something to take on lightly." The voice explains, Jaune couldn't believe this, he did wake up this late for a reason, now he was in a ship, talking to an alien from outer space. "Wait, what's your name?" He asked. "Lotus." She replied.
"Now I will move on to other important things you will need to know as you are the controller of a Warframe. Such as weaponry, movement, and your Warframe's abilities. But before that, go to the platform over there and customize your Excalibur, make it yours and then we'll move on."
Jaune went over to the platform at the end of the room and suddenly a holographic popped into existence in front of him. He saw a button that said "Warframe Appearance", he pressed it and it leads to rows and rows of different colors, looked around and decided to change some of the accents to a golden yellow and keep his primary colors white. He then noticed sigils and chose one, he then saw helmets, he saw one called, "Mordred" He picked it and was now satisfied with his look.
"Alright, are you ready to move on to weapons?" The Lotus asked, Jaune nod. "Yeah... yeah, I think I am." He said. "Okay, go to the foundry over there and create three weapons of your choice." She said, Jaune looked and saw the foundry, he walked over and saw that it pulled up another holographic screen. "Once you pick your weapons, they'll be built for you almost instantly." She continued. Jaune looked at the rifle choices and he liked the look of the Boltor and its description, so he chose it.
Now he needed a secondary weapon, he looked and found the Sicarus pistol. He then went to the other weaponry, melee. He saw the Dark Sword, it was similar to him and out of most blades, the closest to Crocea Mors, so he felt he would be more comfortable using that. When he was done, he pressed confirm and they were all immediately built.
"Take your time to get familiar with your new weapons." Jaune noticed how the metals were like his colors, white steel, golden accents, and black metals were on all the weapons he had created.
He then took the time to get used to sights of his Boltor rifle. Then he took out his pistol and looked down the sights of it as well. He took the Dark Sword from his back and wielding it, having a firm grip on the blade.
"Now, I would like you to meet someone who will be your assistant and companion on this journey." She said, he wondered who this would be and then he heard another disembodied voice. "Hello, Operator! I'm Ordis, nice to meet you!" Jaune slightly jumped from surprise, the Cephalon laughed. "I'm sorry to scare you, but yes I am now your new assistant, think of it as an A.I. assistant except I have more personality. I am the Cephalon of this ship, which is now yours as well." Jaune was shocked, he gets a ship? He was either dreaming or in a really bad coma.
"You can connect me to that device you dropped on the floor as well. Jaune then noticed his scroll, he thought it would be a good idea, especially since he did already liked Ordis so far, he didn't seem like bad company so he decided to connect Ordis to his scroll. "Wonderful! Now, what was your name?" Ordis asked, his voice now coming through the scroll. "Uh, Jaune, it's Jaune, Jaune Arc." He replied.
"Alright, now Operator, are you ready to test out your abilities? If so, go out of the ship so we can test them on- INSIGNIFICANT CREATURES!" Jaune was taken aback by the quick change of the Cephalon's personality, then Ordis only chuckled. "Sorry, I have a glitch which causes me to have split personalities." Jaune slowly nodded, then he walked out of the ship and started running, that was his instinct. "Trying scaling the trees," Lotus says. "What? How am supposed to that?" Jaune says as he sprints through the forest.
"Just do it, trust me." The Lotus said; he sighed. "Here goes nothing." He says, and he sprints towards the nearest tree, expecting to just run into it and fail like an idiot, instead his feet went off the ground and connected to the tree. He couldn't believe it, he was actually running off a tree, then he backflipped off it and land back on the ground with ease, almost as if he has done this multiple times.
"Holy crap," Jaune said. "Amazing, isn't it?" Ordis says, Jaune heard something, a growl, then multiple growls. "Damn it," Jaune curses and he sees he is surrounded by beowolves. "Quickly Operator! Use one of your four abilities!" Jaune shook his head in confusion. "What?!" Lotus's voice came again. "Just focus and use your abilities, just focus." Jaune calmed down and closed his eyes. "Come on, come on," Jaune said as heard the steps of the Grimm get closer. "Got it."
Jaune raised his arm up, fist in the air and bright light emitted from it. It blinded the Grimm as they were now letting out cries of confusion. "Jaune, quickly!" Ordis says, Jaune already took his Dark Sword and jumped onto one of the Grimm, he plunged the sword into it's back and then jumped off taking the blade with him and sliced its head off. He turns to the others, he aims at one and fires a couple of rounds, they all puncture the beowolf and it sends the poor creature flying away before being impaled onto one of the trees. He turns to others and does the same.
He then pulls out his Sicarus to finish off the last two. He shoots, one of the bullets nick it in the eye, then another piercing the bone armor protect its face. He turns to the other and lodges the pistol into the Grimm's mouth before firing three rounds again. He pulls away from its mouth and it drops to the floor. He looks up and sees as the sky turns gray. He looks at the time and sees on his scroll that it says 7:01. He sighed, for some reason, he didn't feel tired, he stretched and then yawned. "Well, time to wake up the rest of the team."
