ONE MONTH AGO
Ozpin sighed. "Mr. Arc, are you sure this is the right decision? I realize that most of the school looks down upon you but you do not need to leave, you can still redeem yourself." Jaune kept his gaze on the floor as he sat in his chair. "What's the point? Pyrrha hates my guts, Ruby and the others won't talk to me, and I've been getting bullied even more than before." Ozpin sat back down in his chair and looked at the distressed Arc. "Jaune..." He then got back up and turned to his window and started to walk slowly up towards it and look out at the mountains.
Unaware Ozpin was to the fact that he accidentally bumped one of his files off the table as he had got up to look out the window. Jaune noticed and picked up one of the papers, he didn't think much as he looked at the papers and picked up the yellow folder they went into. Then that is when he noticed one of the papers included a map, he was surprised to see a completely different continent on the map, even stranger it said "Map of Eiríni". He quickly looked up to see if Ozpin was still talking while keeping his focus on what was out the window, he took this time to read through the documents.
First, he took a look at the map and saw that the continent was divided into three colored sections, they were colored in red, yellow, and a teal blue. He assumed these must of been territories, but for what? He looked through another paper and saw it was a summary of the place, by Ozpin himself. He read the following words in Ozpin's summary,
"Eiríni, a land of warriors, these people are not to be trifled with, it was my mission along with destroying Salem to bring peace to Eiríni considering they have been in a war that has lasted for one-thousand years. If anyone ever wanted to better themselves or find redemption, then Eiríni is certainly the best place. But this place is unforgiving and merciless, it will give a second thought in ending your life, enter at your own risk."
That did it for Jaune, he then put all of the contents into its folder. Then quickly and slyly, he slipped the folder into his backpack for further reading later because he knew there would be no way he could read everything without getting caught. He then looked at Ozpin as he continued to observe the mountains as he spoke. "You know, I always had thought that you would have great potential. Do you know why I would have thought that?" Jaune shook his head. "No."
Ozpin tilted his head back to Jaune and smiled. "It is because of the pure soul you had, you wanted to better yourself, you've put others before yourself, and you didn't care for the possible fame or wealth of being a huntsman. You simply just wanted to be a huntsman because you wanted to protect the people. And that is why I always had thought you had great potential." Jaune nodded in thanks to Ozpin's compliments and words. "Thank you, I think I'll be going now, Professor."
He then stood up and shook Ozpin's hand. "I hope that wherever life will take you, you will succeed Jaune. Until the next time we meet." Jaune smiled back. "Thank's for everything Professor Ozpin." Ozpin just spun his cane momentarily. "Please, it's just Ozpin now that you no longer part of this school." Jaune nodded.
As Jaune walked to the elevator and the doors closed, he lost his smile and sighed. "So much for becoming a huntsman." He then started to walk through the courtyard, there were still students everywhere, he decided to put his hood on as if it would make any difference. It didn't and students started to take notice of his presence and began yelling at him as he made his way to the airship dock where his ride back to Vale waited. "Hey, cheat!" A female student yelled. "Oi! We don't want shits like you, so get out!" Another student yelled.
Then Jaune saw out of the corner of his eyes his friends or should he say his former friends watched him as he did the walk of shame. He didn't care anyway, so he continued to walk until he finally felt the steps of the airship. He felt relieved but couldn't help but look back at his school one more time, he saw as students rejoice in Jaune's departure and others were throwing gestures towards the airship, he quickly chose to look away out of shame. He looked around him, he was the only passenger, he was surprised that he didn't become airsick at all and he just sat there staring out towards the sky.
A few minutes pass and he finally hears the announcement that they arrived and he gets his backpack. He walks out and breathes in the fresh air, it was still noon so he decided to do what he wanted to earlier, he found himself sitting at a bench, then he took the yellow folder out of his backpack. He flipped through the map, examining it very carefully, he soon learned that there were three factions, samurai, knights, and Vikings. He then read more of what Ozpin wrote.
"Eiríni is protected by a special magical barrier that separates it from the rest of Remnant, the creates the illusion that the moon isn't shattered and it stops Grimm from entering the land."
Jaune was then worried and looked through the folder and found a small blue crystal, he assumed that this must've been the key and looked through Ozpin's writings once more, sure enough, he found something mentioning the key and the crystal.
"I have stored the crystal into this folder, it is used as a way to bypass the barrier and get through over to Eiríni. But over the years, it'll soon fade away and when that time comes, I must somehow find a way to bring these warriors together to fight something bigger. Salem."
Jaune was intrigued, how did Ozpin know of Eiríni? How did he know about the barrier? Who was Salem? What was Ozpin's mission? These were the questions that soon plagued his mind as he sat there on the bench. He then switched to another part of the files and saw that there was even a route to Eiríni one could use if they decided to travel by boat.
He then contemplated what his next moves would be, he obviously couldn't go back to his family, they would abhor and shame him for not being a true warrior. Not known by many people, but the Arc's were very arrogant and it mostly was due to the semblance every Arc inherited, it was called "Aura Amplification". They used it in combat to make themselves almost invincible and they could absorb a lot of the damage that was inflicted upon them. No Arc would be trained in the ways of the warrior until they had unlocked the semblance, until then, you wouldn't be called a "true" warrior. He decided he should join the knights once he got to Eiríni, he fit the look, he hoped that maybe he could become better and possibly redeem himself, but he knew it would be a long road, but he was willing to do it.
He then got a voice message on his scroll, it was from his older sister Saphron. He decided to press play. "Hey, little bro! Look I know what happened and I'm coming to pick you up, it'll just take a day or something because I'm all the way in Argus. I just can't believe mom, dad, and the others are being such jerks about this but I'm sorry about what happened. But I'll be there soon so get a room or something okay? Bye!" He smiles, Saphron was the only other Arc that wasn't arrogant or thought of herself higher than others. He then frowned knowing he wasn't going to stay here, he was going to Eiríni and that was final.
He then composed a new voice message. "Hey, Saph, look I'm not staying here anymore, I'm going somewhere, I can't tell you where, but what I can tell you is I'm sorry for doing this, I hope you understand. I love you, you were the best sister a brother could've asked for, goodbye." He then stopped the recording and sent it to her. He packed the folder and everything else with him into his bag and slung it onto his shoulders and began to search for a boat he could use. He soon found a fisherman who had fallen asleep and left his small wooden boat floating in the water near a dock.
He took this chance and started to dash towards the boat he then quickly grabbed a paddle and then jumped into the boat and started to row. The fisherman was awakened by this and yelled at him. "You damn kid! Come back here!" Jaune didn't falter in movement or look back, he kept going and soon the cries of the old fisherman were silent and he looked behind him and saw the land of Vale now a quite a bit away. He kept rowing and then looked at his map, he redirected himself and started to row in the right direction. He then looked at his bag and was glad that earlier he packed food and then read more about Eiríni and found out that there is a major time difference between Eiríni and Remnant due to the barrier.
He looked at the sky and sighed. "Your new life begins today Jaune."
PRESENT TIME
In Ashfeld, the Fortress of The Iron Legion stood high and tall. It was once the Blackstone Legion's Fortress, no more. The war had finally ended and the knights, vikings, and samurai now threw a large festive party at the Fortress to commemorate this event, also to celebrate the sixth anniversary of Apollyon's defeat. Yes, as Apollyon said, the war wouldn't immediately be over now that she would die and it went on for six more bloody years. Now as the faction's warriors celebrated, their leaders were at the meeting room discussing what they can do now that they are united.
The leader of the vikings, a by the name of Thorson. The samurai were now led by the former "Emperor's Champion", Shigeru, he wasn't originally Emperor, but was given the role by Ayu, a Kensai and friend of his. She was the Emperor for the first five years after Apollyon's fall but then retired her role and went back to being a Daimyo, giving the role to Shigeru. Finally, the knights were led by a unique individual, Jaune Arc, to their knowledge he had come from Remnant, but now he was the Lord Warden.
Jaune had changed much since being Eiríni, he was now at least forty-seven years old, he had become a great swordsman. He became a Warden, he reforged Crocea Mors and it was now a longsword, he also reforged his shield successfully thanks to his past lessons from Ruby when he was still at Beacon. It now doubled as his sheathe and now a kite shield.
He now wore custom armor made for him, he wore the Loran helmet but now it's breathing holes shaped as his family symbol. He also wore a custom cuirass which had the Arc symbol embossed onto it with paisley embossings surrounding it. It was fitted with a hooded green cape accented with gold linen, and it had the Iron Legion symbol emblazoned onto it. His shoulder spaulders were layered segments of iron, he had elbow pads strapped, and full-fingered iron gauntlets. Underneath was a special green gambeson that also had chain mail layered underneath. The lower part of his armor consisted of the tabard that was under his armor and then his combat trousers and iron greaves.
"What do you suggest Jaune?" Shigeru asked Jaune looked at him. "Remind me again what was the problem." Shigeru turns to Thorson. "In Valkenheim, it is hard to grow food due to the cold weathers, so I was hoping you would consider maybe shipping us food every now an-" "Done." Jaune then says, Thorson raised his eyebrows in surprise. "You're serious?" Jaune nods at him. "Of course, we are allies and friends, we need to help each other if we are to continue this peace."
Thorson nods back. "Thank you, Arc." He held his hand out, Jaune accepted and they shook hands. "So how many shipments do you think you will need? Twice a week? Three times a week?" Jaune asks, Thorson thought for a moment. "We will need maybe, a shipment of food twice a week." Jaune nods. "Alright then, Shigeru? Do you need anything?" Shigeru shook his head in response. "No, it's fine, do you need the assistance of anything yourself?" Jaune shook his head. "No. If that's all then I guess we can call this a clo-" They hear the door to the room slam open, the draw their weapons, but then lower them as they see it was just Daubeny.
"Yes, Daubeny?" Jaune said. Daubeny breathed heavily as if he ran a full marathon. "S-Sir, you need to see this!" Jaune looked at him and then back at Thorson and Shigeru, he nodded towards the door. "Come on." The four then made their way through a hallway before coming outside into the courtyard where most of the festivities took place, they noticed all the warriors had stopped and looked up at the sky. Jaune, Thorson, and Shigeru did the same. They saw not a full moon, but a moon with part of it shattered.
"Odin's beard!" Thorson exclaimed, Jaune and Shigeru also shared Thorson's surprise. "That... that is Remnant's moon is it not?" Shigeru said. "Does that mean the barriers fading? Does that mean those creatures from your home are coming here? What were they called?" Shigeru continues. "Grimm," Jaune said, he looked at the others. "Shigeru, Thorson, you need to get your men back to your land's, you will need to prepare for a defense."
"And you?" Thorson asked; Jaune pulled a small blue crystal from his pocket and looked at it. "I will arrange a scouting group to set out and see if the barrier is truly down, I'll take the key if it turns out that isn't the case." They then moved through the crowd until getting to the balcony that oversaw the courtyard, Jaune then looked down below at the warriors who were now conversing with each other in puzzlement.
"WARRIORS!" Jaune yelled, they all grew silent and turned their attention to him. "The barrier has possibly fallen! I want all vikings and samurai to return back to your homes, demented creatures from Remnant are now able to possibly enter Eiríni, so you will go back and defend!" Then Thorson and Shigeru who walked back down during Jaune's announcement and had mounted their horses. "Warborn with me!" Thorson yelled as he raised his dane axe. The vikings soon followed Thorson's lead and mounted up before riding out through the gates of the fortress.
"Dawn Empire, ready up!" The samurai then got atop their horses and rode out of the fortress gate as well. The knights then looked at Jaune. "My lord! What are your orders!?" A captain yelled. "I want some you to head out and reinforce nearby villages, the rest will stand guard here in this fortress!" Jaune yelled back, soon knights hopped onto their steads and set out.
"So what do we do?" Holden asked. "I guess we're going to Remnant soon," Jaune said. "Why?" Stone asked. "We can't just fight these Grimm off by ourselves, we will need some, assistance." Jaune took off his helmet and looked at them. "Now we should arrange that scouting group." None of his commanders said anything and looked at him as if in shock, he raised his eyebrows. "Are you all alright?" He asked. "Jaune..." Mercy says. "Yes?" Jaune replies. "You look younger."
"Wait, what?
