Welp, I didn't expect the pause between chapters to be this long. ICO is a game I'm greatly passionate about. The minimalist aesthetic just resonates with me in ways I rarely see in media. I knew I couldn't preserve that style in fiction, at least not with my skillset, but I still wanted to try and tell a sequel story.

I've struggled to upload on here for three reasons, honestly.

Motivation. My mind darts between a dozen ideas a day, and when most of my writing time is in bed on a seven-year old iPad, it does take a little out of you.

Planning. I went into this with no idea where it was going, just as I do with most of my stories. Sure, this means potentially writing myself into a corner, but I haven't done that yet, thankfully.

Format. Let's be real, uploading to is not easy. I tried uploading the first chapter, and it turned into a complete mess that a review pointed out to me. When you write everything in a big Google doc, taking all that stuff and dumping it onto this site just ain't feasible.

So, with that in mind, I've decided to move the story onto AO3. I'm not deleting it from here, but the story won't continue on this site. I do not want to abandon this story, and that's not just 'cause of aesthetic. It's partly out of pride, I guess. I want my story to have an ending, even if I don't yet know what that ending is yet.

Thank you for engaging with this story, all the same. My new account's FamiliarInAStrangerLand. /users/FamiliarInAStrangerLand/profile (See what I did there?)

See you on the flipside.
