The girl on the purple motorcycle sped accross the bridge. Police cars, not too far behind, supported by helicopters, slowly closed the distance.

A buzz sounded in her helmet. The last resort escape route directions, on a holographic display on her visor, showed her turn was coming up.

Twelve seconds later, Hit Girl was in New Jersey.

The escape route finally shook the Police after she drove the bike into a forest, then up a hiking trail, and finally down an abandoned mine in Central New Jersey. The Holographic display flashed DESTINATION REACHED, then shut off, leaving Mindy MacReady alone in the abandoned mine.

The display turned on again.

TWO TARGETS DETECTED AHEAD.

Mindy reached for her gun with her right hand, while activating the Nite Vision capability on her helmet. Moving toward her, holding Pistols and flashights, were two Park Rangers.

Mindy dropped behind the bike for cover, taking aim at the lead ranger, who pointed the flashlight straight at her, miracuously not seeing her. Suddenly, she froze. Wait. she thought. Since when do American Park Rangers carry... P08 Lugers?

She rose into a kneeling position, her gun pointing at the lead Ranger's head.

"Drop your weapons! Hands where I can see them!"

Instead of complying, the second Ranger laughed. He was short, and his voice was strangely high pitched.

"Your father wouldn't want you to kill us," he said. "He'd want you to come with us. We'll take the bike up for you. Just" he holstered the gun. His comrade did the same. "Lower your gun."

Mindy's heart was racing. Did these people really know my father? She went against her better judgement, stood up and hostered her gun.

"Who are you and how did you know my father?" She demanded.

"All in good time," the second one answered.

The Rangers grabbed the handlebars of the bike and slowly pulled it to the surface.

As she reached the surface, Mindy was momentarily blinded, having had removed her helmet down in the mine. When she could see again, the Rangers had mounted bikes of their own, and started the engines.

"Just follow us!" called the first Ranger as he slowly began to drive.

Mindy pushed the throttle and fell in just behind the second Ranger as he rode past.

The trio made their way to a small cabin in the middle of the park. The first Ranger knocked on the door in a specific pattern, then punched in a code on a numberpad, took off his sunglasses, and underwent a retinal scan, then called Mindy over and had her take a retinal scan as well.

"The door now 'recognizes' you as a friend. It will allow you entry at all times."

The first Ranger looked at the scanner again.

The scanner beeped, and above the numberpad a sign flashed for a moment in red lettering

Jeremias Siebener

The second Ranger took off hissunglasses as well. The scanner beeped and again a sign flashed in red lettering above the number pad

Erika MacReady-Siebener

Mindy frowned. "What the..."

The second Ranger turned around to face her, a mask in hand. Instead of a male Park Ranger's face, was the face of a beautiful woman.

"Yes. If it works on you, my dear niece, then it sure as hell will work on a run-of-the-mill street thug! Hi! I'm your father's sister! Why don't you take the scan too so we can just... come in the house?"
