"SP-M853! Halt!" Barked the form of James Ironwood, as his hulking figure walked through the broken steel doors, his pace not breaking as he stepped on the Scrap from the security.
"Jimmy, what do I owe the pleasure?" Penny asked as she continued manually setting parameters.
"For violating our laws, and endangering our way of life, you will be decommissioned and scrapped."
Penny let out a short laugh. "If I was a danger to ATLAS, I doubt I would have ever existed."
"If you recognize the futility of your actions surrender now."
"No." Penny said as she pointed a hand at Ironwood, and fired a blast of blue light.
The energy hit Ironwood, and his hologram was destroyed.
"Stop stalling me, I don't have time to fight the Dog." With that, Penny walked up a set of stairs and onto a suspended platform surrounded by floating rings.
The rings started moving. "Destination: Atlas, 150 years ago. Bounce-off to: Atlas, 200 years ahead. Bounce-off to: Vale, 240 years ago. Set." The machine reported.
Penny gritted her teeth, as the time machine started up, even after all the development, it still killed people who had Aura if they tried to travel.
But Penny wasn't a person, she was a machine.
A machine that felt pain.
Penny felt her soul catch fire and burn.
A machine that felt sadness.
Penny clutched her hands, the faded yellow one groaned.
A machine that felt love and heartbreak.
Penny knew it was only a matter of time before ATLAS' Dog caught her.
A machine that had a dream.
Penny started sparking as the rings reached their maximum speed.
A machine that was going to save the world.
As the rings cooled down, Penny was no longer on the platform.
