Pacific Rim

It's been sixty years since the Grimm first appeared.

It was 2023 in the U.K. where they first wreaked havoc.

It was supposedly a calm day, but then the clouds blocked out the Sun, and no one close enough to see the Grimm formed lived to tell the tale.

The U.N. weren't quick to get a clear report, unlike the normal citizens, they couldn't just believe something they saw online, they had to verify what was happening.

But for the citizens, they saw a video online of a giant black dragon with white plates decorating it.

The world went wild, people panicked, even after a Nuke was dropped on the Dragon.

After the Dragon, more monsters appeared.

It was Germany who gave them the name 'Grimm.'

Then, in 2035, after 3 Billion casualties world-wide, Germany and Japan went public with their invention.

The Hunter.

The Hunter was a prototype man piloted giant humanoid machine, or, if you were familiar with the idea, it was a Mecha.

It was then that the world realized they had a chance, that they had hope.

The world changed, many fields of work were dropped, if your job didn't help humanity survive get a new one.

Necessity is the mother of invention.

And invent humanity did.

With more people in science than ever before, every field jumped in progress.

In 2050, the U.N. was more united than ever, Hunters were scattered around the world, there were schools that taught people to pilot the Hunters.

Smaller but more complex humanoid robots were commonly seen doing menial tasks and manual labor.

But, probably the greatest invention was the H.E.A.R.T, it was a new engine that ran on experimental energy, when installed in a Hunter, they became unstoppable.

From 2060 onwards, it was a time of peace, but for a young girl born in 2068, it was a time for adventure.

So, out in some deserted city, the young girl, lives a life of freedom.

She spends her time tinkering with machines, whether it's repairing an old robot, or repurposing tech left behind from a fight, or even upgrading her own handmade miniature Hunter.

The body of her Hunter was spherical in shape and larger than a tank, it had six long spider like legs, and three extendable claws used to grab things.

She really enjoyed her freedom.

Unfortunately, she's going to lose that freedom soon.
