Since Cox told him that he didn't want to sleep anymore, JD helped walk him over to the staff lounge room. The TV was playing in the background with That 70s show on. JD helped Cox sit comfy on the main sofa. JD sat on the side sofa near the window and the small bookshelf, facing his current patient. "So, where do you want to begin with your father?"

Cox thought about this while looking at the TV, he doesn't know where to start. Perhaps the time when his father was just a normal dad first, "When I was a small child, he was just an ordinary dad. I remember him playing baseball with me and camping."

"What changed in him?" JD wondered.

Cox looks down at the ground "His drinking started when I turned seven. He became miserable in his marriage and things went downhill from there," JD watches his patient's eyes look over at the TV, hidden emotions behind them. He inwardly sighs and walks over to him, sitting down next to him "the first time he tried to lay his hand on me, my mother tried to stop him," Cox put his face in his hands, "he instead hit my mother while making me and my sister watch."

JD could hear the pain of his past in his voice. He scooted closer to him and softly places a hand on Cox's back, trying to find a way to comfort him, "It is ok, you can take your time telling me. We got all night after all."

Cox gears over at him between his fingers. JD never seen this side of him before, it was kind of cute, 'Wait...did I just think of him as cute?' his inward voice says. He shakes that thought away and distracts his mind with a song. The song was one that he just heard this morning while he was heading back home with his scooter to take a quick shower and freshen up before heading back. Queen was on the radio. We Will Rock You was playing. JD's head started filling up with the song.

"Newbie? Are you even listening?"

JD snapped out of his thought, "Sorry sir, go on?"

Cox gives out a sigh, "I was saying that my mother never interfered again and always protected my sister."

"Is that why you had a hard time seeing her when she was visiting here?" he nodded in reply, "did it hurt you that your mother was only protecting her?"

Dr. Cox looks over at him, "Isn't that obvious Newbie?" It was JD's turn to nod in reply.

"Why didn't they get divorced from one another?"

Cox looked over at the TV, watching the kids from the That 70's Show play in their famous basement, "They both came from a family that doesn't accept it. They were taught that once you get married to someone, they should stick with them till the end."

JD decided that it was time for some coffee before continuing the conversation. So, leaving Cox behind in the lounge he walked over to the cafeteria to get them both a cup from the hot beverage vending machine. He felt something wet behind his ear, turning around to see the Janitor staring back at him, having his dirty rag on his face. JD made a disgusted face as he quickly swats it away, "What do you want?"

"I was just scrolling by," he had his cart of cleaning supplies with him.

"Don't you ever go home?"

"Why go home, this place is more interesting, plus it has its sleeping courters."

"You been sleeping here?" The Janitor told him to keep it to himself.

"So, I heard you are Cox's doctor," he sits down in a chair, "how's it going with him? Heard you gave him a sponge bath."

JD looks at him with shock, "Who told you that?"

"Turk was telling your blonde friend and I was just in the right earshot to hear," JD rubs his temple, not wanting to get into this, "So is it true?"

"I can't say sorry," he starts walking away, "patient confidentiality."

"So, that is a yes then," he starts chuckling on that. JD just ignores him.

Back in the lounge, JD found Cox where he left him, on the sofa, his eyes glued to the screen. JD got shocked when he saw that his eyes were red and buffy, 'Has he been crying?' he studied him as he hands a cup to his patient. This hurt JD, seeing Cox's face like that, crying alone while JD was getting some coffee. 'I shouldn't have left him.' Cox took a sip of his coffee, that is when his mind snapped out of his thoughts, his eyes turning to JD, realizing that he was in the room, he quickly wiped his eyes, "It's nothing Newbie, just allergies."

JD set his coffee down on the floor since the only table they have in the room was the dining table in the back. Quickly he put his arm around Cox's shoulders, "It is ok Cox...I know it isn't easy to bring up your past," Cox was trying to hold it together, but JD could see right through him, he wraps his arms around him, holding him secure inside his embrace, "it is ok...I am not here to judge you. You know for the longest time, I thought of you as one of my friends. Even though you would have never accepted it. Instead of thinking me as your doctor while you are staying here as a patient, think of me as your friend. And as a friend I am here for you," Cox could no longer hold back, ever since that dream he had tonight, something inside him stirred up. JD felt him breaking down, stroking his with soothing circles. Telling Cox that things will be alright now, and JD will make sure that Cox's long and painful wounds of the past can start healing. Starting by helping him get rid of Jordan.
