This will probably be really short. Inspired by the wonderful time I am having being sick. Enjoy! :D
Ghost gasped for air as another bout of coughing racked his body. His dry, croaky cough had gotten worse as winter had arrived, the others had a mild cold, but Ghost was sicker than all of them.
In his room that he shared with Roach, the noise seemed really loud-especially at…what was the time? Ghost turned over and looked at his alarm clock. He groaned and turned over again. 3:23am.
Both Roach and Ghost had barely gotten any sleep over the past week, Ghost- as he was sick, and Roach- as Ghost's coughing woke him up in the night.
The morning sun gleamed through the window and onto the single beds of Roach and Ghost. After a night of coughing constantly, his throat was very sore.
He slowly arose from bed, letting the warmth of the sun draft over him like a blanket of fire. Roach was already gone from bed. Perhaps to breakfast.
Getting to his feet, Ghost wrapped a blanket around himself and made his way over to the window. A blanket of snow had been placed on the terrain overnight, and snowflakes slowly drifted down like autumn leaves falling from a tree.
The door behind him opened, and he turned to see Roach walking in with two mugs of hot milo, the steam drifting from it as he walked over to the window next to Ghost.
"Morning Bug." Ghost croaked. He smiled as he saw what Roach was wearing- grey slippers and a soft looking robe that had a hood. On the hood was bunny ears. How cute. Of course Roach would wear that.
"Morning. I got milo. Everyone else is sleeping in today." He passed one of the mugs to Ghost and they both sipped on them while they gazed at the softly drifting snow, the sun illuminating every snowflake.
Ghost didn't notice it at first, but Roach must have moved a step closer to him, as their shoulders were now touching. Roach was shorter than Ghost, and so a moment later he lay his head on Ghost's shoulder.
The sudden contact made Ghost stiffen up for a second, but then he relaxed. He was sick, and Roach might be sick, everyone else might be sick, but at least they had each other here.
And the milo.
At least I can write a story about snow where I live in a place that never even gets snow.
I hope you all enjoyed this extremely tiny one shot. Bye for now.
