Chapter three lengthy teaser.

What was he on about? Holding back? He talks as if we met before on the fields of battle but this was my first time meeting him... Unless this was an elaborate ploy to lower my guard.

"I believe you have me at a disadvantage Caster, as I do believe this is the first time we met." The image was set, I could release it upon him at any given moment but would that be enough against him? Seeing how easily he dealt with Hrunting I would find it highly likely he could also escape the mountain felling sword... In which case I would need another weapon of similar ilk as a followup.

"Hmm that's strange, you don't appear to be lying and it would make sense in a way but..." He scrutinised my face and body just as I did with his.

"Hey boy do you perchance use some kind of reinforcement magecraft?"

I didn't answer him, there was no point in confirming my abilities to a potential enemy especially one of his power level as that was the height of stupidity. However if he was willing to give up some information then we could come to an accord.

"Come on boy throw me a bone here."

"If I do would you throw one back?"

"Hah so its an exchange of information you want sure, but you first boy."

"...Alright but to start things off lets introduce ourselves my name is Shirou Emiya." Even if its a facade one still had to approach this with the proper mindset.

"Likewise I'm Caster."

I gave him a harsh questioning glare in response although deep down I already knew that this was the most likely outcome. There was no way he would give up his true name so easily as that would tell me his weaknesses and strengths. Still in showing my displeasure he might give up some other information depending on his nature.

"I know I know, that's not my true name but that's how it goes during the holy grail war." He gave me a small shrug of his shoulders as if to say that the ball wasn't in his park.

"Holy grail war?" I already suspected as much the moment I was attacked by EMIYA as what else could cause this much destruction? Along with the ability to summon servants. Nevertheless this was different to what I was used to as instead of summoning servants we become them in a way.

"Oh come on! Your not fooling anyone here Shirou but more importantly answer my question." I could tell his patience was beginning to run dry with the way his tone changed at the last sentence.

No doubt he was onto me as he probably knew that I was trying to fish for information without actually giving up any.

"Fine yes I do have some skill in reinforcement magecraft." As if to speed things along, I picked and reinforced a small piece of shattered concrete lying around before hurling it towards a fallen building.

A loud crack resounded throughout the area as the piece disintegrated upon impact, but not before causing a sizeable dent.

"That's it! The same aria, the same look it is you!" His face brightened up as he let out a small smile while twirling around his staff. Sadly I still had no clue on what he was talking about.

Clearly he either mistook me for someone else with similar abilities as reinforcement although hard to master was common knowledge amongst magi or he did in fact meet Shirou Emiya but not exactly myself in question.

"Man for a second there I believed I made a mistake."

"Look here Caster I feel that we have a." I have to bring this back on topic fast otherwise things would take a while, not to mention I couldn't keep these images within my mind forever as it was rather taxing on my brain and circuits.

"AEEEHHHH" A loud scream echoed across the area.

In an instant I quickly drew back only to see a young girl running towards me with fear in her eyes as she tried to escape a hoard of skeleton warriors.

Shit what about Caster! For a brief second I was distracted by the girl's situation only to find him gone.

Damn it! How could I make such a rookie mistake!

I cursed myself inwardly for my inexperience. Who knows if he was hiding away preparing to attack! Although there was a good chance he wouldn't judging from the conversations but I wouldn't want to risk my life on a maybe.

"What the hell!" Her voice echoed once more along with the sound of something falling but this time I paid it no heed, I had bigger fish to fry.

Where is he? My eyes darted from left to right as I slowly made my move. Every single sense was heightened to their limits and yet I couldn't find a single trace as if he magically disappeared.

"Why do these kind of things keep happening to me!" I could hear the sound of bones creaking and mini explosions in the distance, this was a good sign it meant that the girl could protect herself on her own against the horde. Gives me more time to figure out the current situation with Caster.

"DIRECTOR! Mash do something!"

"HELP ME LEV!"

"Trace on!" Upon hearing the cries for help my body moved without thinking, projecting his blades I quickly threw them towards the skeleton warrior that was just about to slice the poor girl in half.

The married blades drawing an arc as they intersected with one another right onto the enemy. Trapped between steel penetrating noble phantasms the skeleton had no way out but death.

"Are you alright!" Rushing towards the fallen girl I quickly stood before her acting as her bulwark.

I guess I couldn't change that easily huh?
