Cujo

Saved

A/N: Suppose that the madness that drove Cujo into a monster…never occurred? We can know why something like this could be possible.

He watched as he chased the bunny into a hole and was unable to escape as the bat bit him, infecting him with rabies. It was nobody's fault the St. Bernard became violent and murderous; he was just an innocent beast domesticated not too long ago and got tortured by an unthinking sickness that drove the friendliness out of his heart and soul. But now…now there was a chance to save the dog and undo the damage his infected state took part in.

"Cujo," the timeless man sighed as he got up from his wooden throne and grabbed the glass sphere floating in front of him. "Let's see if we can defy your fate for the better."

Cujo chased the bunny towards the small hole in the ground, but never got any further than the small space in between himself and said hole. He couldn't even feel the ground under his paws; it was as though he were running on air.

"I'm sorry, Cujo," he heard a man's voice say to him, "but you're going to have to let the rabbit flee from you."

Then, he was turned around and over, seeing a dark stranger looking down at him. He seemed friendly and harmless to the dog, but there was something else about him that was…unnerving. It was as though he was more than who he seemed to be.

The man then rubbed Cujo's belly, earning a soft growl from the dog.

What Cujo never saw, though, was that while he was getting a belly rub, the hole to the limestone cave where the rabid bat resided was removed from sight and relocated to another part of the wilderness, far from Cujo's reach so he or any other animal for that matter couldn't be infected with rabies.

"Have a treat, Cujo," the dark stranger expressed as he brought up his right hand…and a large piece of lamb appeared in it.

Cujo then accepted the piece of meat as he was returned to the ground.

"Grr," he growled as he tore through the lamb.

"You're a good dog, Cujo," the man said to him. "You're among the world's friendliest canines that people love. Scooby-Doo, Clifford, Growlithe and Beethoven among other dogs, and you're among them. Until we meet again, Cujo. Adios."

Leaving the dog alone, the dark stranger disappeared from sight, pleased to know that he had saved the beast from a dark fate.

Returning to his domain, the one and only Brother Correction gazed into the glass sphere that appeared in front of him and saw Cujo in a better future now. The dog was running around, playing with his child owner and another boy from another family on a sunny afternoon.

"Ha!" He chuckled as he saw hope in front of him because of the dog's altered fate. "Live long, Cujo. Enjoy your life until it's truly your time to depart."

Suddenly, another glass sphere appeared in front of him, this time a red one, showing him another situation that required his immediate attention.

"Oh, you gotta be kidding me," he uttered as the new problem made his eyes widen.

Within the sphere, he saw a town getting ravaged by parasitic aliens hunted after by a veteran alien hunter and later wiped out of existence by the human military, wiping out everyone that lived there, excluding the lives of four people that were fortunate to escape.

"I know exactly how to deal with you," he expressed as he grabbed the sphere and disappeared from sight in his domain.

A/N: And now Cujo has become a member of the lives changed by Brother Correction. What do you think of this? And who out there thinks they can tell what Brother Correction saw that he could undo? Read and review, please. Peace!
