Soooo, it's been a long time. And I kinda knew this story was going to flop from the very beginning. It was just fun for ME to write and nothing else really pushed it. I also knew I'd gain new interests in other stories. This thing didn't even have a proper plot planned!

Which is why this is a bit short and most likely the last chapter/one-shot in this collection.

I'm also publishing all the planning things I had for this, which wasn't very much, but you're welcome to them anyway. They're kinda the... main point... of this chapter, really.

But really. This thing was the 12th fic I published here, and 4th that wasn't purely a one-shot. Now I've got 14 stories on FFN and 19 on Ao3. It's also my first story that exceeded 30k.

Rose Tyler Was Only Working (END)

Rose Tyler was a normal girl who worked in a shop at Henrik's. That's what people would tell you if asked. Those people wouldn't know Rose personally. If you asked Mickey Smith he'd say she's a force of nature that won't take orders from anyone. Her mother would say she drove her insane by all the stunts she pulled but would also praise her up and down, a proud parent. The local police force would groan and say she was a menace with a lot of heart and a tendency to chase trouble. They too would admit she was usually more of help than of trouble.

Then you'd go and ask the girl herself and she would say she's just a gal who wants wrongs righted and a dreamer who wishes to see the world.

You might also ask why. And Rose would smile with stars in her eyes and say it was her idol but would never say who that was. Shareen knew but the girls had drifted apart a while ago. They stayed friends but weren't as close as kids.

Right now Rose was nineteen, working in a shop, and bored out of her mind. She tapped her foot anxiously, blonde hair in a high ponytail and eyes darting about listlessly. There was nothing to do. And if she got something to do it wouldn't be exciting. Not like when she was playing the local hero in the streets or searching for travel experiences she'd like to have but couldn't afford yet.

Luckily her shift would be over in a few minutes and she could go home to sleep on it.

Or, that's what she would have done if a head of curly black hair hadn't caught her attention. She stared for a second, caught a flash of big eyeglasses and green eyes, and shot off after the woman and the man running in front of her. They seemed to be arguing about something but she was too far away to hear.

The man dug out a strange silver tube thing and buzzed it at a door, opening it for the woman.

"Hey!", Rose called out as she reached them, "Is it… Is it really you?"

The woman turned in surprise and Rose was taken aback by how little she'd changed. That is to say, not at all. Harriet smiled, pleased.

"Rose?", she asked, "Wow. You grew a lot!"

"Harry, we don't have time", the Doctor reminded her.

"True. But she can come with!", the other contradicted, "We can talk while we run"

And then they ran and Rose had no choice but to run after, "What are you doing here!"

"There's living plastic around and we have to stop it from hurting people", Harry said back.

That was the strangest thing she had ever heard. And it stung a little. Because she hadn't taken her idol for a liar. Or someone who didn't take things seriously.

"Har har, very funny", she grumbled as they skidded to a stop near a doorway.

"Not a joke"

Someone screamed. Harriet disappeared with a crack and Rose stared, wondering if she was dreaming. The Doctor huffed like this was a usual occurrence but didn't stop running, just switched directions to go for the scream.

"Rose, stick close to me. Or Harry. It's dangerous down here", he told her, "We only came to get the electrician"

"Uh, yeah? What's the danger?", she was growing more confused by the minute.

Shouldn't this be a normal work day?

"Autons. Living plastic", the Doctor explained hurriedly as they came to a doorway.

Rose inhaled sharply at the sight of Harry surrounded by plastic dummies with their fingers… cut off? No. Opened. Their hands were half hanging and pointed at Harry and the man behind her. There was a simmering light in front of the woman. Her expression was grim and annoyed.

"No shooting at innocents, Autons", she ordered and Rose was now even less convinced that this was actually happening.

The Doctor and her sneaked behind the plastic things and the man threw a small capsule at the center of the creatures. It sparked and released a high pitched whine that made all of them seize and collapse. Harry immediately grabbed the quivering electrician Wilson behind her and urged them all to run. Rose followed in a daze.

They got to an elevator and caught their breath. Or, Wilson caught his breath, Rose calmed her breathing, and the Doctor and Harry just laughed at their success.

"That's done!", the woman chirped as they got out the door, "Wilson, go home and rest. Things will be fine here"

And by some miracle, the electrician actually listened. Rose was left with her kind of idol and the Doctor who were infinitely more interesting then she'd ever really dreamed.

"Okay, what's actually happening here?", she questioned, slowly accepting that these things were actually happening.

The explanation left her changed forever. For the better. Even if she had to convince the Doctor to not actually blow up her workplace. And get used to the fact that Harry was magical. And that the two could travel in time and encountered these situations pretty often.

Jackie Tyler was a little distraught once she found out her Rose was finally ready to start reaching for her true dream.

Harry and the Doctor were just pleased to have another person on board to introduce the universe to.

PLOT PLANNING:

(Harry and the Doctor meeting and getting to know each other. They travel together for about a year and something. They find out a lot of things about the other as they struggle with past demons. They become something like family)

(They meet Rose Tyler at a festival thing when the blonde is fourteen. Then again at nineteen and plastic creatures attack. She comes to travel with them. Harry makes her and the Doctor come up with something to tell her mother)

(Rose becomes the companion Harry never really was. The one they can show the universe. All its wonders and lessons. She is a dear friend that fits with them well but is still young and innocent to their standards. A child they help grow into her own skin)

(Harry makes every Companion a portkey linked to the TARDIS. It's only possible after she becomes Phoenix but it happens. Plus herself and the Doctor. 'Cause that's just common sense)

(At some point Harry wants to become an animagus. Figures that it would be a phoenix. Really, she should've expected it. This adds yet another way to teleport)

(There's a life-threatening situation that needs the Doctor and Harry to once again connect telepathically. Luckily the Doctor has already been teaching her telepathy and a conversation is much easier because of that. Now they're again in the situation of whether to make it permanent or not. This time the choice is easier because Harry has proven she's not going to leave)

(When they face the Daleks for the first time, Harry finds that they are also TARDIS grade resistant to magic. Which is super annoying. Luckily they're not as resistant to Flames because they come straight from her soul and carry her willpower. And she finds that they're not super fast so she has a big advantage. Their smartness is also a problem, though)

(Alternate reality and the ghosts with Torchwood. Daleks. But since alternate universe Tsunayoshi and Vongola X generation come over to help. Tearful reunion and the Doctor fascinated by Flames. Pressing situation means it's a little short lived though)

(At some point Harry decides to make a ritual of sorts that allows her to teleport to the Doctor anytime and anywhere and make it work the other way around too. It's only possible because she kind of merged with the TARDIS once to make exactly that happen. And because of the bond the Doctor and her already share. The result was her gaining another superpower thingy that links her to the TARDIS and to the Doctor. Makes her more attuned with time)

(The Doctor and Harriet are married in the future. And have children. Time traveling children. Out of order meetings ensue)

(Jack and Rose become a couple since Rose too is kinda selectively immortal with the Bad Wolf thing)

So, this is it. The open-ended end! Like the whole of this story, really. And all the little notes that were my literal plans for all of this. Thank you so much for reading!

Right now I'm just more preoccupied with my other stories. A series, actually, of which I'm focusing on another Doctor Who story that has much more elaborate plans in place (the planning section is around 8 pages long at the moment). It already has around 30k worth of words. So.

If you're interested in an OC that pushes around the plot a bit (or a lot) then check it out. I'm basically trying to make a Doctor Who Fix-It and it's SUPER HARD because all the timelines and time travel.

It's called...

*drumroll*

Child of Time and Relative Dimensions!

Thank you all and goodbye, or hello again if you decide to check out my other story.
