I went back over to the house to see if anyone was about, but there was no one there, only Carol baking cookies pretending to be the timid little housewife.

I went for a little walk and heard a commotion at the gates. I walked over to see Glenn shouting at Aiden and Nicholas. Rick was walking with Deanna from the other road and Daryl was walking from the side of the houses. I walked quickly as I saw Aiden take a swing for Glenn. Glenn ducked then punched Aiden clean in the jaw. As I reached them Nicholas lunged at Glenn, I stuck my arm out and my hand connected with Nicholas' Adam's apple. Straight away he fell backwards choking and holding his throat. He suddenly gained is composure, turned and give me the death stair, and went to punch me. Before I could defend myself, Daryl had come from know where and knocked him on his ass. Rick, knowing full well what Daryl was capable of, quickly dragged Daryl off of Nicholas. He had already caused some damage. Deanna shouted for everyone to calm down and walk away. I grabbed Daryl and pulled him away by his hand.

He was absolutely fuming, it took me ages to keep him from kicking off and not running back to kill Nicholas.

"Come with me, I have something to show you" I said.

"I'm really not in the mood" he said.

"Stop now, come on" I said pulling him towards the houses. He came along stubbornly. We got to the our houses and then carried on to the small house next to them. I stood there looking at it and then looked at Daryl.

"What?" he asked irritated.

I grabbed his hand and lead him up the porch and to the front door.

"After you" I smiled.

He rolled his eyes and opened the door. I followed him inside, I instantly felt homely. I stood in the living room and looked at Daryl.

"What are we doing in a half decorated house?" he asked.

"don't you mean what are we doing in OUR! Half decorated house" I grinned.

"What do you mean?" he asked looking fully confused.

I proceeded to tell him all about my new jobs an my conversation with Deanna.

"This is amazing, for you, babe" he said.

"Amazing for us" I said.

"Well it would be nice to get our own space" he said," but what about when I am away?, I would prefer that you would be with everyone"

"I can still be with them I literally live next door" I laughed.

"What happens if something happens whilst I'm not here and you don't know about it because you're here on your own?" he asked.

"I can protect myself" I said rolling my eyes.

"I know you can but it would be better if you were with the group" he replied.

I grabbed his arms and pulled them around my waist, I put my arms around his neck. "How can you worry about me, here in this house when you're going to be out there for sometimes weeks" I said.

"I told you I wouldn't do it if you were worried" he sighed.

"Shut your face and kiss me in our new house" I smiled.

"Oh I think I can do better than that" he said. He picked me up and took me to the kitchen. He kissed me passionately. Before I knew it I was naked and having rampant sex there on my kitchen counter. Afterwards whilst putting my clothes back on I thought to myself, to make a note to clean the counter before cooking on it.

I grabbed Daryl and kissed him " you chill now?" I asked.

"Of course" he said kissing me.

"Deanna say's about 2 weeks it will be ready, they just need to find doors that match throughout" I said.

"Can we chose the paint and furniture?" he asked.

"They have storage and we can go and look for things of we want" I smiled.

"Just us two on a run?" he asked.

"I'd like that a lot" I smiled.

"Tomorrow?" he asked.

"Yes lets go and see Olivia today and look at the furniture and then we will know what we need" I smiled.

"This is so strange" he said,"It's like a bit of normality is coming back"

" I know I like it" I replied.

"I'm kind of liking it too, and I didn't think that was possible" he smiled.

I went back to the house, whilst Daryl went to do some more of the bike. I had a wash an got changed into some jeans and a vest top. I went over to Aaron's to see Daryl and see when he wanted to go to see the furniture. Aaron asked me to help him with a present he was making for Eric for their anniversary.

"Daryl told me about the house and your job" he smiled.

"I know it's super exciting" I smiled.

"Hey listen I wanted to apologize for Nicholas' behaviour, earlier" he said.

"It's not your fault" I said.

"I know, but it isn't yours either, Glenn is right we don't know how to handle the outside world, well a lot of us don't." he said.

"We shouldn't be fighting each other though, we should be showing each other. We should show you how to get on out there and you should show us how to get on living here. Daryl was only protecting me, he isn't an animal" I said.

"I know that, I wouldn't of picked him to work with if I thought he was" he replied.

"Well hopefully it won't happen again" I smiled.

Daryl came in out of the garage " I'm just going to wash up and then we will go and have a look at this furniture" he said kissing me on the cheek.

"What's that?" Aaron asked.

"What's what?" I asked.

"That huge rock on your finger?" Aaron asked.

"Oh that" I laughed.

"Are you two engaged?" he asked.

"Yeah just last night" I grinned.

"Why the hell didn't you tell us?" he gushed.

"It's not a huge deal" I laughed.

"It is this is an excuse for a party" he said.

"Oh no, nothing like that" I said.

"Oh come on you have to" he replied.

"I wouldn't mind a meal for us lot, you and Eric, Daryl is seriously not a party kind of guy" I replied.

"Leave it with me" he smiled.

"What's that?" Daryl asked walking from down stairs.

"You not telling me that you asked Kerry to marry you" he said.

"Oh it's not really a big deal is it" Daryl replied.

"It is we're going to organize a big party" Aaron said winking at me.

Daryl's face was a picture. I burst out laughing "Don't worry, I'm not" Aaron said, "But Kerry suggested a meal with all of your group and us two"

"That actually sounds really good" Daryl replied.

"Okay I will arrange it, for tomorrow or the day after" he smiled.

We headed back over to the house, to find everyone was there, the smell of cooking filled the air and I felt a sense of warmth rush over me.

Carol had made a stew and we all sat down to eat it. "So I have a bit of news, well a lot of news actually" I said dipping the fresh bread that carol had baked.

"What's that then?" Rick asked.

"So basically Aaron and Eric are cooking us all a meal to celebrate our engagement. They wanted a party but obviously I just wanted it to be us. So it's either tomorrow or the day after."

Everyone looked happy about that and got really excited.

"Also, I was given my jobs today" I replied.

"Jobs?" Rick asked.

"Yeah I have two. Deanna asked me to be head of corrections, which means that I will be dealing with the punishments of people who you pick up" I said looking at Rick and Michonne. "And then" I started.

"She chose you?" Rick said.

"Well, yeah but I'm thinking" I started.

"So what if it's one of us?"Rick shouted "You going to lock us up?"

"Can you let me finish?" I asked. "I'm not taking this lightly, I was thinking about having a council we can all decide what to do with them"

"You having us then?" Rick asked.

"Well no, it's not very fair is it we come in and take over, plus you as the constable couldn't be in the council anyway" I snapped back.

"You need to sort your priorities out" He said slamming the table and standing up.

"I am sorting MY priorities out, whats best for all of us" I said standing up In his face.

"Looks like the only person you're thinking about is yourself" he said pointing in my face.

"Hey" Daryl said pushing Rick backwards.

"You haven't got your priorities in order either by the looks of it" Rick said.

"My priority has always been this group and will always be this group but you are going to far now this is what you wanted what we all agreed to and now you're starting on her because it's not your decision well no sorry, I draw the line when you start digging her out" Daryl said, " She will do this fair and you know she will so lay off her"

I grabbed my bowl of stew and walked out, leaving them to it. I sat on the porch of the other house and sighed loudly. Everything was just too much and I felt like crying.
