The Sweetest Thing
Charlotte Katakuri thought the sweetest thing was doughnuts, but boy was he wrong.
It was a minute past midnight and Katakuri pulled the covers closer to him. His large hand instinctively reached for his wife who was supposed to be beside him, but to his surprise, wasn't. He immediately sprung up and looked for her under the covers frantically.
The lights in the bedroom suddenly went on. He squinted his eyes to allow them to adjust to the now bright room. The doors suddenly sprung open and there she was, his lovely wife, standing on doorway. Her hair was tide up in a messy bun and she was wearing sunglasses that say Happy Birthday while carrying a pink-frosted cake that had 3 candles on top. She was wearing one his shirts which seemed a little too large for her. A huge grin was planted on her face as she started singing "Happy Birthday to you..."
Katakuri chuckled as he watched his wife slowly walk towards him while singing the Happy Birthday song.
"Happy Birthday, honey" she smiled as she lifted the cake towards Katakuri's face. "Make a wish"
He furrowed his eyebrows a bit. He smirked and said "I don't have to. I already have you" he winked.
She playfully slaps his thigh with her free hand. She pouts as he raises both of his hands in an act of surrender.
He blows the candles and wipes a frosting onto his wife's nose. He laughs as he sees his wife glare at him playfully. His wife puts the cake down onto the bedside table and climbs onto his lap. Katakuri removes the sunglasses and plants a gentle kiss on her lips.
"What did you wish for, honey?" she asks
"I wished that we would always be like this"
Katakuri smiles at his lovely wife. The curtains fluttering as the wind blew past at their well-lit room. She puts her arms around his neck and plants a gentle kiss. He sighed. This is indeed a lot sweeter than doughnuts...
