Hey everyone. This story was brought to you by the Ongoing - Gift Tag on Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. I wrote for Sammy's prompt of Dean/Hermione jealousy. I hope you all enjoy A Moment of Jealousy.

"I'll see you tomorrow then, Harry," Dean heard his girlfriend Hermione saying. He could see her giving Harry a hug as they went their separate ways for the day. She'd spotted him by now and had waved as she headed over to him. "Dean," she called happily as she finally stood in front of him, "were we supposed to meet up today?"

All Dean could see was green at the moment as the green eyed monster of jealousy took hold of him. He didn't really know where this was coming from. He trusted Hermione and Harry was one of his friends. "I just thought I would surprise you and take you out for dinner tonight," Dean told Hermione trying to keep the fact that he was jealous from her. "Is it that much of a crime to want to go to dinner with you?"

"Dean, it's not. It's just...I had plans with..."

"Harry?" he snapped not being able to keep the jealous tone out of his voice.

"Why are you acting like this?" Hermione asked her hands on her hips.

"Because you want to have dinner with Harry freaking Potter instead of me," the worlds exploded from his mouth before he could stop. "That's why I'm acting like this."

"For your information," Hermione told him a sad tone in her voice, "I made plans with my mother and father yesterday. And yes I told you about them." She shook her head as tears pricked her eyes. "I have to go. We'll discuss this later on."

Dean sighed the jealousy and anger leaving him after hearing that Hermione wasn't meeting up with Harry at all. Now he kind of felt like an idiot for yelling at Hermione like he did. And the tears that had come to her eyes had hurt him more than any harsh words ever could. He'd have to think up a way to apologize to Hermione and quickly. Then an idea struck him.

"I'm sorry Dean couldn't make too," Hermione was telling her parents as they dropped her off at her front door. "Maybe he'll be able to come next time."

"I hope so," her mother told Hermione. "We were really looking forward to meeting the man your dating."

Hermione nodded giving her mother a hug. "Good night, Mum," she said as she unlocked her door and went inside.

But once she began walking towards the kitchen she realized that something was off. Raising her wand she continued on to the kitchen were the smell of some of her candles was coming from. Her favorite scent, the mandarin orange one. Flipping on the kitchen light she began to get ready to attack whoever'd broke into her house. But was met with the shocking sight of a candle lit table with two bowls of her favorite ice cream from Florean Fortescue's ice cream palor, which had reopened after the war taken over by one Florean's descendants.

"Dean?" Hermione questioned. "What are you doing here?"

"I acted like fool earlier and thought I'd bring you something sweet to apologize for that," Dean told her motioning towards the ice cream. "I'm sorry about accusing you of cheating on me with Harry."

Hermione thought for a second before sitting in front of one of the bowls of ice cream. "I forgive you," she told him. "But you can't just go buying me ice cream every time we have a fight. You know?"

Dean nodded sitting behind the other bowl. "I know," he told her a hint of a laugh in his voice. "There's always cake, or pie."

As the laughter died down Hermione and Dean dug into their ice cream. Dean felt relieved that his moment of jealousy had come and gone. He made a promise to himself that he'd try never to get that worked up ever again.

I hope you all enjoyed A Moment of Jealousy.
