Harry looked at his family. It hurt him deeply him to know that he had to leave them again for work tomorrow. A dangerous mission, he knew, would it lead to. Finally, he and his fellow aurors had discovered a lead on the recent string of muggle deaths and knew that the killer was an escaped convict. He observed his wife, Ginny, playing with their youngest daughter, Lily Luna. They sat across from each other on the floor and played a muggle game, with which 6 year old Lily was obsessed with. As Ginny and Lily played Jenga™, James and Albus were having a fake duel with some of their Uncle George's fake wands. Harry had taught them how to have a proper duel and they were now bowing to each other and casting fake spells. Harry had a quick flashback to his first ever duel against Draco Malfoy. Funnily enough, both his first and second duels were against Malfoy. A few hours later, as he walked upstairs to the master suite with Ginny, having already put their children to bed, he looked at her with eyes that explained everything. Ginny was not an emotional person, she rarely let that side of her show, and when it did, it was usually with anger. She looked at him silently, and kissed him, letting him know that it was okay and that she knew what could happen.

Harry woke up early the next morning. Ginny and the children weren't even awake and as he left, he peeked into each of the bedrooms. He watched as Ginny slept and wished he could have stayed with her. He walked down the hall and looked into his sons' room. James, an odd sleeper, was sprawled across his bedspread, drooling slightly onto his pillow. Harry smiled. He looked at Albus. The boy was laying in his bed on his side, sleeping peacefully, though Harry couldn't tell whether he was drooling or not. He walked into the last room, Lily's, he crept up to the bed and knelt down next to it. He brushed a lock of hair out of his daughter's eyes and she smiled slightly. Harry stood and walked away. As he packed his supplies, he thought about how he wanted to come home to them and how he'd do everything possible to make sure he did.

Harry dodged spell after spell from the invisible wand. He produced a Shield Charm and ran out from behind the great tree that was protecting him and he caught a glimpse of blue. He knew it had to be the man's cloak. He darted between his fellow aurors and they followed him. They gained on the man as he threw the occasional spell back at them but almost always missed. Harry had already lost one man and he didn't want to lose anymore on this mission. As he caught up with the murderer, he saw him stumble. Harry put on more speed, not planning on letting the man escape again. He skidded to a halt right next to where the man was scrambling to get up again.
"Petrificus Totalus!" exclaimed Harry, pointing his wand at the man and flipping him over so his face looked upward into the sky. As he looked into his quarry's face, his own broke out into a smile. Not because he was gleeful at capturing the man, or because he had protected others, but because he could return to his family. His wife, his sons, and his daughter.
