It's strange - You don't scream.

Someone else does, though - Connie, you think faintly. She screams your name, screams no, over and over, but you- don't. You are frozen. Your voice seems caught, tongue too swollen to move and too scared to try.

White Diamond is giant. You only caught a glimpse of her before, but - She is larger than comprehension, almost. Terror wracks your body, chills your bones, and you can only watch her approach.

She plucks you from the ground like child picking a flower, gentle enough not to squish you between fingers larger than you are, but pulling up and away at your roots all the same. You feel lost, adrift. There was no contingency plan for failure.

Halfway up, you remember to struggle.

It doesn't matter.

And suddenly - There she is.

Her face, ethereal and still from the ground, is grotesque and twisted up close. Her eyes widen even as her brows furrow, and her mouth is ever stretched out in that unnatural smile.

Monster, you think, have never thought before. This is not a person, not a gem. This is White Diamond, and she is monstrous in her demand of beauty.

"Now, Starlight," she says, with that constant cooing edge. You feel a nail, hard as the diamond resting in her head, as the gem in your belly, scrape against your skin - Your shirt is pulled out of the way. "This has gone on long enough!"

Your breath stutters. No, she couldn't mean to- No, she wouldn't dare-!

Her fingers pluck the edges of your gem-

"It's time to come out, Pink~!"

-and pull.
