For the first time in Eleanor's life she had found someone that talked just as much about themselves as she did. No. MORE about themselves than she did.
Since Tahani had walked through Eleanor's clown door she had not stopped gabbing about her life which left Eleanor completely silent. This was not a normal thing for Eleanor. The only times she had remained silent was during role play or while hiding from the cops—sometimes both at the same time! There were so many moments she tried to stop the gorgeous woman from uttering a single sentence but there was no wedging of words between her breathing.
Oh, and what lovely breathing.
Eleanor might have been annoyed out of her mind but there was no denying how hypnotizing Tahani's chest was. She was expressive with her words, her hands, her body and Eleanor found herself openly staring a few times. The first few she blinked away and pretended there was something on the woman's dress but after a while she just gave in.
For the entire morning or whatever it was in the timelessness of death, they walked through the neighborhood from place to place with Tahani as the curator. Eleanor found it so annoying that her "soul mate" acted like a tour guide when they LITERALLY got there at the same exact time. It didn't help that she had control over a magical slave woman that appeared for her every beck and call. Eleanor tried to call the woman too but she never came no matter how many times she tried to summon the robot lady.
Eleanor took a bite of her fro-yo as she gazed over the gentle river and expanse of cherry blossoms being admired by the other lame-o's of the neighborhood. Wait? What was the woman saying?
"And that was how I became the reigning queen of a small village in Liberia. Enough about me, darling! Tell me about yourself. I want to know ALL about my soul mate."
Fork.
Eleanor cringed inwardly at the fact that she could not even curse in her OWN brain. She had found out when she stubbed her toe stepping onto the sidewalk (some kind of heaven if she could still feel pain) and shouted her favorite four letter word. Tahani laughed and explained that in this neighborhood they could not share swears. She was such a know-it-all.
"Soul mate?"
Oh, fork. She was supposed to say something. She had to play it very cool if she wanted to keep up the ruse. Something about Tahani told Eleanor that she could not trust the woman with a secret of this magnitude—even if they were soul mates.
Eleanor smiled, "Well, what do you want to know?"
"Anything! Everything," Tahani grasped her hand as she looked into her eyes, "I want to read you look like a book, Eleanor. I want to know you cover to cover."
For a narcissist like Eleanor that was the hottest thing anyone could say to her from the hottest person she had ever met (next to Stone Cold Steve Austin) but she couldn't indulge in such a desire. The woman cleared her throat slightly and looked into those dough eyes, "Well, I was born in Phoenix, Arizona. I went to school in Tempe, Arizona. Then moved back to Phoenix…Arizona."
The woman tilted her head waiting with eager eyes for more.
"And then I traveled the world!"
"Oh! Lovely!" she squealed, "Tell me everything!"
"Uh…uh…."
"Tahani! Eleanor!" Michael shouted, interrupting the moment, "Just the two I was hoping to find. I would like to introduce you to another beautiful couple. Jianyu and Chidi Anagonye."
