Taka's Guard – Afterword

Well, that's it for Book II.

I was debating between naming this book "Taka's Guard" and "Traitor King", but since Scar wasn't yet made king at this point in the story, it didn't seem appropriate. I debated where to end this book, but I feel that here is the best moment. It is the end of the Lion Guard, where the mark is ripped from him – and technically within the timeline of the original movie. As for how Scar gets away with murder – in this case? Well, all will be revealed in the next volumn.

This has been a labour of love for the better part of two years now. What should have been a simple update, ended up taking much more time, due to some real life changes. My career has kicked off. I've finished university. It was all very exciting, but rather overwhelming at the time.

Nevertheless, I have always maintained that this story is not and will not ever die. I shall finish it, one way or the other. I'll get to it. I promise you.

I'd like to thank everyone for all of your kind reviews. I read each and every one of them, and it really gives me the incentive to continue writing, even when it gets difficult. I'd like to take this opportunity to invite everyone who has been faithfully reading the story, but not regularly reviewing, to make a review here reviewing the whole story. It is nice to know people are reading it, but it is a little disheartening to see so many review the first book, and have that drop off so substantially.

Is this the end? Certainly not. It is merely the beginning. The beginning of a new era.

As always, my fine friends. Be happy, healthy and wise.
