A/N - I'm not happy to be writing this note, however I feel I need to say this. I've been dealing with some hateful reviewers. I would hope that with everything happening in the world right now, that people would be kind to each other. Maybe I'm wrong. Maybe this is wishful thinking on my part. Who knows, I just don't see why others feel the need to be hurtful to anyone. Please note that I'm not defending anyone other than myself in this note. And if you choose to not believe me, that's up to you. Please remember that words are tools too, and even though you might think your not hurting anyone you just might be.
Bethesda Hospital,
Both Rabb woman just sat in the hallway holding each other, sobbing in each other's arms.
"Trish he... he can't die.. he just can't."
"Oh, darling we don't know that he will, Harmon will look after him. I know in my heart he will. He will not let anything bad happen to his son."
Frank stood back listening to his wife words as she comforted her daughter in law. He always knew that the ghost of Harmon Rabb sr would be apart of his wife and step sons life. However hearing her asking him to keep his son safe still stung him and hurt him to hear. Ducking his head he left the Rabb woman alone, he needed to walk and clear his mind.
A.J noticed Frank walking off. Taking a chance he went after him. He caught up with his as he was about to head outside. "Frank wait up." Turning around Frank looked over at A.J.
"What might I do for you Admiral?"
"Please; it's A.J tonight. Can't be easy to hear her asking for her diseased husband to watch over their son."
"I've come to terms with the fact, that I will never live up to the ghost of Harmon Rabb sr."
"Still it can't be easy, especially with Harm looking just like him."
"It's a challenge, one that I'll admit I don't handle very well. When Harm and Sarah got married. I knew he wanted his father there. Now that they have that perfect little boy, I hope he see's what it's like to."
Trish came running up. "Frank!Frank! please you've got to come with me. Sarah has passed out."
"Trish darling slow down please. Tell me what is going on? Where's the baby?"
Stoping for just a moment to gather her whits about her. Trish started again. "Tommy is with the nurse, when the doctor came back out, he informed us they would be moving Harmon to the ICU he not out of the woods, the scans show a head concussion, the concussion wasn't detected at first so they ruled it out. If he hadn't had the spell in the room no one would've known. And ... and ...now my..." Trish dropped to floor..Frank went over to his wife.
"Darling please, I know this hard."
Starting once again. " He's in a coma, and poor Sarah she took the news so hard. Frank she passed out, all the sudden she grabbed her abdomen and just passed out. Frank she can't loose their baby, that would push her over the edge."
"I know that darling." A.J made his way to the couple. Mr and Mrs Burnett, what do you need from myself and my staff?"
Frank looked up; "Admiral I don't have an answer for you right now."
"Well I'm not going anywhere, and I do know how to change a diaper, so I will watch little Tommy for now."
"Thank you so kindly Admiral."
"Trish call me A.J."
"Thank you A.J, I'll just go..."
"You tell me where he's at, I'll go get his. This way you can both go check on Mac."
"He's with the nurses at the ER Nurses Station, I informed them that I was going to try and find the both of you."
"Very well, I'll go retrieve young Mr Rabb." Admiral Chegwidden headed off towards the ER nurses station. While Trish led Frank to Mac's room.
When they entered the curtained off area, first thing they noticed was that they hooked Mac up to a fetal heart monitor. Trish went over to her, she took her daughter in laws hand. "Sarah dear, I brought Frank back with me. Admiral Chegwidden is going to look after Tommy for us. Your darling little boy is in very good hands right now."
Frank put his hand on Trish's shoulder, she placed hers on top of his. "Oh Frank what are we going to do?"
"Darling we need to be here for the both of them right now. That's all we can do, just be here for them."
