A/N: Yes, this is late, but I missed a week of school and I had so much make up work. So, here is part two of Holiday One shots for Halloween! (Don't worry there will be holiday one shots for thanksgiving as well)
Enjoy.
Joshaya themed!
"So, little brother, when will you finally admit it?" Cory asked his little brother as they sat at the dining table snacking on cookies. Topanga had took Auggie and the girls out shopping. It gave Cory the opportunity to spend time with his brother and to get the gossip.
"What are you talking about, Cory?"
"You know what I am talking about Josh! I know its just you at home now with mom and dad and you miss me but we talk on the phone almost everyday, pal. So, when are you finally going to admit that you only come here for Maya?"
Josh froze. Could he really admit such a thing to his brother, his niece's best friend's father figure. Yes, he could admit that he had some feelings for blonde and that most of the time he only visits just to catch a glimpse of the fiery blonde.
"I don't know what to say. Cory, this - it can't ever happen."
"Why? Three years isn't that bad. It is not even illegal. What is stopping you?" Cory needed to know. He wanted that stupid triangle to end. It hurt to see what was happening to girls.
Maya was just conflicted. She was the girl who always knew what she wanted and always found a way to get it, but Josh turned her down. So, the result was finding some one else to be crazy about, and it just so happened to be Lucas Friar.
He really did not like the guy and it wasn't hard to not like him. He was too good. He was too much of a nice guy. He was fishy. There was just something Cory knew he was hiding.
And it bugged him that he didn't know, but what bugged him even more, was knowing that two of his most favorite people are too stubborn to tell each other how they feel. It was nerve racking for him and Topanga because he stayed up every night ranting to her about it.
"Look, Cory, even if we did get together, I wouldn't want to put Riley in that position. She is her best friend and what if we get into an argument, or worse, we break up. I don't want to do that to Riley or you."
"Look, Josh, love is about taking risk, doing st-"
"Love! Cory, I am not in love with Maya Hart. Okay, we barely know each other-"
"And who's fought is that?"
"Mine! Okay, I get it. I am idiot for pushing away the one person I actually see a future with. But I-I guess I am just scared Cory. She, Maya, is a strong girl but she is also broken. I don't want to make a mistake and break her even more."
"Josh, you already did." That one sentence hit Josh hard. His brother was being brutally honest and it hurt. He felt like such an idiot and a douche. He was pushing her away and she only had a few people she considered worthy to be her friends and family. The Matthews she just so happened to pick.
"I am an idiot, aren't I? So, what should i do? You told me she liked Lucas now."
"She doesn't. He is just her rebound. You are the one she truly wants."
You are the one she truly wants.
Those words led Josh onward. He wouldn't admit his feelings yet but he would once he figured out the right time. And considering that Cory wanted to take a class to the infamous ski lodge, Josh decided he would tell the tiny ferret exactly how he felt.
A/N: Hope you enjoyed! Tell me what you thought. Don't you just love Joshaya?
