Marked by Fire

The little kitten,

Had burnt both her mittens,

And that drew the guardian's ire.

"Oh damn you Blaze,"

"Seek to make me enraged?"

"You must learn to control your fire."

Seeing the guardian's spat,

The trembling cat,

Lip quivering, began to cry.

But with the guardian's slap,

A stop was put to that,

The guardian made gestures up to the sky.

"This world you'll defend,"

"Till day your life ends,"

"Most important, the emeralds of Sol."

"You'll master your power,"

"Take it years or mere hours,"

"And that shall be your only goal."

So training resumed,

The years by time consumed.

The guardian's will Princess Blaze followed.

Her powers increased,

Burning fire released,

While her spirit died, was ever hollowed.

All desires forsaken,

Guardian's mantle was taken.

And a princess sat upon a throne.

But the price of the flame,

Is of connections refrained,

A guardian is always alone.
