I don't own anything.A little piece of Steve/Amanda fluff. A follow on from 'Computer glitch'.

"This is nice", Amanda Bentley said, as she and Steve Sloan sat on the sofa, in the beach house.

Steve had his arm around her, and she had rested her head on his chest.

They were watching some old black and white movie on the tv.

Steve smiled." It's very nice", he agreed. "And it's lucky that Julia in maternity has flu, otherwise Jess wouldn't have been able to look after the boy's tonight".

" It was lucky", Amanda agreed. "We don't get much time together, just the two of us".

Steve kissed the top of her head.

" You know that I don't mind", he assured her. "I love the boy's as if they were my own. I love the time that we have together as a family".

Amanda sat up, straight. She looked at Steve. She knew a lesser man would have ended thing's with her, or complained about how much time she devoted to her family and her work.

But Steve never complained. He accepted thing's as they were.

She was a lucky woman to have snapped up Los Angeles most eligable batchelor.

" Steve?"

He turned his attention away from the tv. and looked at her. "Amanda?"

She couldn't help but smile at the way he teased her sometimes.

"I love you", she told him.

He leant forward and kissed her, tenderly. " I love you, too".

She kissed him back. She knew that she had never felt like this about any other man.

Not her ex- husband, Colin, or her former boyfriend, Ron.

They were both good men, but Steve truly made her feel happy, secure and safe.

She never felt like their relationship was anything less than equal.

"Just think..." Steve said, "If Jess hadn't of hacked into the dating site's files, then you and I might never have got the courage to tell each other how we really felt".

As he said that, he held Amanda tighter. The thought of not having her in his arm's made him unhappy.

Amanda laughed, " I know. I wanted to kill him for meddling in our lives, but I realized that he was doing us a good deed".

"And you don't believe for one second that he was working alone?", Steve smiled. " I think my father may have encouraged him".

Amanda knew that was probably true. "Are you always that cynical?", she teased.

" It's a neccessity for a detective", he sarcastically replied.

Amanda looked into Steve's blue eyes. She could feel the love that she had for him overwhelming her.

She kissed him, again; deeper and more passionate than before.

Steve kissed her back, wrapping his arm's around her tight.

Their kissing got more intense, and they made love.

Afterwards, as they lay in each other's arm's, Steve kissed Amanda, tenderley.

"You know, I was going to ask you something tonight", he admitted.

She smiled, " You were? What?"

Steve looked at her. "If you, and the boy's, would like to move in with me".

She felt like she would burst with happiness. " I don't know what to say"

"But...", Steve contined, " Dad warned me that you might not want to live with a man when you were unmarried to him..."

Amanda shook her head, "I lived with Ron..."

"Amanda, I am trying to build up to something here".

" Oh, sorry".

"I figured that he was right, so Amanda..." he looked at her. "I will do a more romantic proposal later, but, will you marry me?"

She burst with excitement."Yes", she screamed. "Of course I will marry you".

The pair kissed again.

Steve turned his attention back to the movie, that they had all but forgotten about.

" You know, we missed the movie, but the baseball is on the other side", he said.

Amanda looked at him. She could have killed him for ruining the romantic moment by mentioning baseball, but she couldn't stay mad at him for long.

She loved him, and soon she would be his wife.

And she couldn't wait.
