Chapter 7: Days in Sunspear Part 1

Paper, when bound in leather and left on shelves for countless decades, tends to amass a smell that is so nostril tinglingly specific to a single location. It crops up from out of nowhere else in the world. And depending on said location would have a unique fragrance of its own.

For instance, the vast number of books Naruto and Oberyn pilfered from Old Valyria had an ashy fragrance that was caked onto them. There've been other books the Viper admittedly read which gave off a rotted smell, all due to poor conditions the reading material was kept in.

In the generalized manner, the specific rainbow of smells being depicted right now comes from a library. More specifically the smell of an old library that it might as well be titled as an archive.

Row upon row, a vast collection of books and tomes are contained within a large room at Sunspear. Each was dedicated to record many parts of history, ways of learning, etc. dating back gods' knows how long.

In truth, the library of Sunspear was one of the largest in all the Seven Kingdoms, or could be boasted as such.

When Queen Nymeria landed on the Dornish shores a thousand years ago, the Rhoynar did not only bring people, but also brought knowledge. Neither of them wanted to lose their knowledge and history of their heritage, so it was a risk a good portion decided to take upon on their journey westward. More would've been brought over if it weren't for the Valyrians pillaging their homes for their knowledge of water magics; among other things.

Aside from this, most of the knowledge and secrets written down by the ancient Rhoynar would've been forgotten to the annals of time if it weren't for the library. And now it's getting expanded on by one of their descendants and his otherworldly guest.

And upon first glance, one would've become rather confused as there seemed to be no labeling as to where each section was for whatever subject the shelves were for. There was no sign signifying them, which would no doubt make guests lost in here.

Unless you're in the library often -or a maester- then good luck finding things easily.

Within Sunspear's library, a decent amount of natural light enters the enlarged space. There were opened, caged windows elevated a dozen feet above the floor with the bars placed in there in case of security and theft prevention. If one were to come in here when the sun is gone from the sky, they'd need a very strong candle or torch in order to have sufficient light to find and read whatever is needed.

At one section of said room, a good source of early morning light graced its presence onto a desk where a young whiskered teen sat. It was there that he briefly looked into each book before placing them into specific stacks, separating them in specific categories. Most have been read while others haven't.

If anyone from his home village saw him here, they'd be in a small state of disbelief. Naruto was never one to really study things, much less be in a library at all. He was too energetic to simply sit down and take time to read.

Two things. One: they didn't really know him, unlike a handful of people. And two: he's currently in a position that he has no choice but to study up and read, like a lot.

Closing up another tome, Naruto gave out a brief yawn while doing a small stretch to pop some tension in his back. 'I… regret taking all of those books from Valyria.' He thought before eyeing the many books before him. 'Done with organizing all of the books Oby-san and I have fully read.' His gaze then landed on the neighboring desk. 'And now I gotta deal with these.'

Reaching towards a smaller stack of books, his task was interrupted by hearing a voice right next to him. "Didn't expect to see this when coming in today."

The intruding voice startled Naruto from his task, causing him to yelp. Falling out of his seat with his butt hitting the stone floor while his head knocked against one of the desk legs.

"ITAI!" Naruto hissed while rubbing his sore head. He then glared at the man who scared him. "Don't sneak up on people like that!"

The library's new arrival held up both of his hands in a defensive manner. "My sincere apologies, young man, I didn't mean to startle you. I would've thought you heard me coming near you."

"What ya mean?"

"My chains." He answered, bringing his hands down towards the only accessory on him. "They are rather loud whenever I walk."

This questioned the shinobi for a moment before he finally took in the man's appearance. He stood at five feet tall with him having medium, tanned skin. His face was smooth with hardly any hair on it, aside from his eyebrows. And the smoothness reached all around his head as the man was bald. His attire was primarily a creme colored robe where a series of odd looking chain links hung around his neck.

Oberyn's lessons came to mind which reminded the whiskered blonde on what this man's role is: a maester.

The men having such an attire have an integral role in Westeros by serving the Noble Houses as scholars, healers, counselors and advisors. The order of learning men dedicate their lives in serving the realm by working through the Lords and Ladies of their respective assigned Houses upon their graduation. And each was sworn to take up a neutral position when it pertains to politics and power.

For they must align towards the realm as a whole, not to just one House. Though this could be put aside if a maester has grown rather close to their assigned family as he treats them as his own.

Their noticeable sign of their position is the great chain hanging around their necks. Each link signifies a different field of study they've mastered. For instance, silver represents medicine. Gold for money and finances. Iron for knowledge on warcraft. Blackened iron for ravens. Lead for poisons. And the most difficult one of all to obtain is Valyrian steel for the higher mysteries of the world; i.e. magic.

The full chain signifies the realm that it's not just Lords/Ladys and Knights the maesters look after, but the farmers, smiths, merchants, shepherds and the like. Each different factor/metal connects to the whole to bind them all. It's an obvious, trivial point disguised by pomposity to what the Red Viper pointed out.

Oberyn would've become a maester if it weren't for two things: growing bored and leaving the Citadel after obtaining several links and not wanting to swear into a life of celibacy. With the later, he grew too fond of sex and didn't want to part with it.

Besides, Oberyn admits it wasn't just these two factors, but he wanted to expand his knowledge than what was provided to him. Much information at the Citadel is outdated and everything is constantly changing, yet nothing is truly added to the main collective.

And the fact that Naruto had to agree with Oberyn was that locking away and destroying knowledge ruins the chance of understanding new things; denying one's own ability to learn more about other things. In a manner, they were practically causing things to become stagnant with no progression to really happen.

They weren't making the realm better at all if they did such a thing. Only a fool would believe such a thing.

Coming to his senses, Naruto soon realized who the man is. "You're Maester Caleotte, aren't ya?"

The now mentioned maester gave a curt nod as he smiled a little at the whiskered lad before him. "That I am. Though forgive me, but I'm at a disadvantage that you know my name; yet I know not yours. Are you here as a guest or a visitor, perhaps?"

"Oh, I'm a guest." Naruto got back onto his feet and held out his hand. "Name's Naruto Uzumaki and I'm the new guest under House Nymeros Martell."

Caleotte looked at the boy's hand for a brief moment before taking hold of it for a small shake. "Good to meet you." Breaking away from the small physical contact, a question was voiced. "I don't recognize the name's origins. Sound's Yitish. Are you from there?"

"Nope. Just a place far away."

"And you said you were a guest?"

"Yeah. I just came here yesterday with Oberyn and Ellaria from their trip to Essos."

"...Are you perhaps one of his bastards from his years of travel?"

"Ehh~ no." Naruto rose a questioning brow at the maester. "Why do you think that?"

"Sorry. It's just the last few times the prince came back with someone from outside of Dorne, they were his bastards."

"...That is an odd assumption."

"My sincere apologies. It was merely the first thing that popped in my mind."

A sweat drop formed at the back of Naruto's head. 'That's rather weird.'

"Moving past my offending assumption, I wonder how you became a guest under this House."

Naruto gave a curt nod. "Right. You weren't here when I showed up. Would've expected to see and meet you sometime yesterday."

"Yes. Well circumstances happened in Shadow City and at the Water Gardens that acquired my full attention. In doing so, my entire day was eaten up by the time I returned, it was late and I requested food being brought to my chambers."

'That's right. Forgot about that.' Naruto thought before giving Caleotte a response. "With how I became a guest, you'll probably hear about most of it through some of the servants or guards. But to somewhat summarize things, there were things that happened in Essos that became beneficial to the Martells. Especially with what I brought back."

The maester gave a nod in response before taking note of the books in front of him once more. "And I… properly assume those are apart from what came from Oberyn's recent journey? I don't recognize any of these at all upon first or second glance."

"Yes they are." Naruto then plucked a book from one of the 'read' stacks before handing it to the bald maester.

Caleotte took a look at the cover and could tell by both appearance and feel that it was really old. There was some damage along its surface, such as tears, while much of it was worn out as he couldn't exactly read the wording. Opening the cover, he saw the written dialect being Valyrian in origin.

Flipping through the pages, the maester made quick scans on what was being shown before looking up to see Naruto. "Where exactly did this come from?"

"Old Valyria." Answered the shinobi before giving the maester a small bit of the truth with a touch of a lie. "The ship I was on was hit by a storm near there and I was the only survivor. Went exploring before Oberyn met me at one point where we soon found a shrine and took everything that was valuable there."

Caleotte closed the book before giving out a sigh. 'Never would've expected to get my hands on a book that originated from there again.' He looked back at the various books sprawled about. 'And so many to boot.' "What are you doing with all of these?"

"Organizing those that were read by Oberyn and I, really." Naruto then turned towards the stacks and pointed to them. "One's primarily on financials towards a dozen Houses or so for some generations. One pertains to Valyrian history. One dealing with animal treatment and breeding. So on and so forth. Wanted to help out before you took a crack at 'em."

"...Quite the interesting subjects there." Admitted the maester as he was curious as to what exactly lied in all of those pages given the brief summary of the few. "And what of those on the other table? The ones that weren't read."

"Oberyn and I can't understand what they say. He said that you might be able to help translate them."

Caleotte placed the book in his hand down onto the nearby desk before picking up one that neither the Dornish prince and guest could make out. Opening it, the bald maester peered inside and soon realized what the young teen meant exactly.

"This is in High Valyrian."

"That's what Oberyn said. So can ya translate or not?"

All Naruto got was a negative response. "Afraid not. Despite me knowing the various dialects of Valyrian, it's highest one is something I'm not proficient in."

The shinobi gave out an exasperated sigh. "Well that's just great. Would've liked to find out what those are sooner, but it seems Oberyn will need to contact his friend at the Citadel for help then."

Caleotte mentally groaned on who Naruto was referring to. 'Seems I'll be seeing Marwyn soon.'

The maester under House Martell was one of many who studied in the Citadel that tolerated the enagmit Archmaester. The man's thoughts and studies towards the mystic arts was something the majority of its residents frown upon.

But not Oberyn.

"Seeing as I can't do anything else here, I'll leave you to it." Spoke the shinobi, walking away from the maester.

"And where are you going?"

"Somewhere to relieve some stress since I've been sitting here sorting things out for so long." Came the response without looking back. "Before that, I'm eating breakfast."

Once the Uzumaki is out of sight, the bald maester turns his attention back to the stacks of books. "This will take some time going through." He muttered before a small chuckle escaped his lips. "At least he was kind enough to categorize them for me."

-Near the Training Grounds-

"You three need to slow down!" Tyene called out as she chased after three little children. "You're gonna get hurt!"

"We can't, Tyene!"

"We're playing!"

"You need to catch us, silly!"

Tyene audibly groaned as her three younger sisters were running away from her. They were energetic, just like the rest of their siblings. Yet they were truly active at their young age. Neither of Oberyn's older daughters would've minded this fact if it was just one of them. But all three were considered a nightmare at times.

Tyene's younger siblings had just returned from the Water Gardens earlier this morning after spending the entire day there yesterday. Despite being tired from the ride back home, they suddenly found themselves full of energy that needed to be released.

Yet this frustrated their oldest, full blooded sister as it was her turn to round them up and bring them to the septa for their lessons for today. And as much as she'd like to not do this, Tyene didn't want to deal with the fallout of her younger siblings running loose.

Not like last time.

Rounding several corners, the Sand Snake saw her little sisters seemingly stop. She soon slowed down, panting for breath while glad the chase was finally done and over with. With enough air back into her lungs and running through her body, Tyene wondered why they did so.

"Who is that?

"What is he doing?"

"How is he even doin' that without straining his arm?"

Tyene blinked in confusion before walking up to her little siblings. Standing right behind them, she soon saw what drew their attention: Naruto… exercising?

It was rather hard to tell in her perspective on what exactly he's doing.

A little away from the training grounds center lied Sunspear's newest guest as he was performing one arm handstand pushups in a pair of odd orange pants, blue opened toed shoes, and was shirtless given said piece of clothing lying some feet away.

It wouldn't be strange of a sight to see, in most cases, as it was relatively rare to witness in the current continent.

Wall climb, single/two-man horse vault, somersault, hammer/sword swing, stone throw, punching practice, ladder climb, fight dancing and running were the typical exercises normally seen in these parts. Tyene has seen her father perform these quite often in order to keep in shape. And the same occurs with many of the palace guards in order to prepare for anything.

Naruto doing the one arm handstand pushup wasn't exactly the problem. What really stood out was him performing his exercise on top of his Kubikiribōchō as it was stabbed into the earth. Lifting himself up and lowering himself every time as one hand was grasping his sword's handle. With every occasional moment, the shinobi would bend over so his legs would seemingly descend towards the ground only for them to rise back up. And after several more movements, Naruto brought his other hand down in order to switch so his other arm can have a crack of things.

"Who is that? I have never seen him before."

"Me neither."

Before Tyene could give a response, a familiar voice beat her to it. "That, you three, is our new guest." Tyene and her younger sisters looked over and saw Arianne walking towards them from the other side of the balcony. "His name is Naruto and your parents brought him from overseas."

"From where?"

"Far away." Was the princess' teasing, vague answer to the little ones.

"That doesn't help us at all!" The little ones whined, cheeks puffed and little feet stomping the ground.

Arianne chuckled a little, knowing neither of the youngest of Oberyn's snakes would be satisfied until knowing the truth. She then turned her attention to Tyene and was about to make some light conversation until seeing her gaze wasn't placed on her.

The elder girl didn't have to guess as to where the younger was looking.

"I take it you're enjoying the show, cousin?"

"Uh, what?" Tyene responded as she momentarily broke her gaze from the whiskered teen down below.

"I asked if you're enjoying the display Naruto is giving."

"...Excuse me!"

Arianne giggled when hearing her cousin practically hiss at her. "Sorry, but with how intently you seem to be looking at him, I thought you were enjoying the sight."

"I was not!"

"Well I sure am." The heir of Sunspear looked back at the whiskered teen's form with a small smile crossed her face. "He looks well defined for his age. I mean, have you seen his muscles? His nice physique?"

Arianne had to admit that Naruto's form was rather appealing to her.

The whiskered teen stated he had been training in his shinobi profession ever since he was five and that of a blacksmith shortly afterwards. The proof was shown given his tanned, semi-naked frame with having both lean and toned muscles that gave him a developing runner's physique. Not to mention seeing the small hints of a six pack forming given what she could barely see from her current position and with what sweat glistened from his stomach. His strength was rather apparent with the bit of physical display he did with that toad statue he lifted yesterday. And sure he was a bit short for her tastes -not to mention the bits of baby fat still on his face- but the princess knew he'd hit a growth spurt sooner or later that'll greatly change him for the better.

She of all people should know as she was in a similar situation years ago.

The Princess of Dorne was once a short, pudgy flat-chested child that was often considered an ugly duckling to many boys she briefly interacted with in the past. This made Arianne rather depressed at times and became self conscious about her appearance. She often prayed in the nearby Sept on many nights, hoping she'd be given beauty once she got older.

And sure enough once puberty had hit her, she became quite the knock out that many men and most women lusted over.

After this physical change occurred, the many boys who had made fun of her tried to court her. Well jokes were on them as she remembered those crossed moments, causing her to ignore their advances and humiliate them in return.

With this in mind, Arianne had figured that once Naruto goes through his physical change, he'd become very handsome and sought after by not just women but also men who are known to be 'sword swallowers'.

"Yeah, but-"

"But what, Tyene?"

"I'm more curious about those scars."

"...Pardon?"

Tyene pointed out the detail as both looked back to the whiskered blonde, who was currently doing sit-ups… vertically on the nearby wall.

With the sun shining off his sweating body, this gave the two cousins clear view of his form. Despite half his body being clothed, there was still enough for them to see parts of his flesh. Not to mention the distance between them as not much detail could be registered.

But on what was visible, Naruto's flesh was riddled with a series of scars.

'Dear Gods…' Arianne thought as she inspected the younger man before her with slightly widened eyes.

They appeared to be slash and stab wounds from what both Tyene and Arianne could see, possibly from what he must've endured during missions in the past. Most seemed faded, given how old they probably were while others seemed fresh. Question was exactly how fresh they were.

But the more important, prominent one was the fist sized wound right around where his heart is located. Being almost circular with burnt-like markings around it, along with a matching one on it back.

"How in the world did he get such a wound?" Arianne questioned.

"Not to mention surviving it." Tyene responded, no doubt unnerved much like her cousin.

It was at this point when the pair ended up seeing Obara and Nymeria walking into the training grounds. Walking towards the side where many weapons were placed, they momentarily paused when seeing Naruto's little display.

"That's something you don't see everyday." Obara muttered out.

"If I didn't see his demonstration yesterday," Nymeria began, "I would've been wondering if I'm hallucinating or not."

"Agreed."

Their little conversation came to an end upon seeing Naruto let go of his sword's handle and pumping his feet onto the ground.

"Believe that's enough for today." Naruto muttered, rotating his arms before doing a final bit of stretch. Once he switched, the whiskered blonde noticed the new arrivals at the training grounds. "Morning, Nymeria, Obara."

"Morning." Spoke the whip wielder.

The spear wielding Sand Snake merely gave a curt nod. "Had a pleasant sleep, Naruto?"

The Uzumaki snorted. "Haven't slept so well in years. The bed I was given was top notch."

"Our uncle and father will be pleased to know of this."

"What do you mean by years?" Inquired the spear wielder.

Grabbing his shirt off from the side, Naruto gave his answer. "Your father and his paramour know of this so far, but might as well tell ya. I've never had the best time growing up. Born on the day when a catastrophe hit my home village." He continued once putting his t-shirt back on. "Things were summed up and rationalized by the villagers that I was the source of their plight. So the majority of them treated me like shit and I could never have the best of things."

"I see. That's too bad."

There have been some forms of superstition made by the common folk and other religions in the world. What Naruto spoke of was one such thing, labeling those like him as a bad omen. The people would do what they can to either avoid or get rid of the source so they could live better lives.

"I know, but it at least helped get me to know who to trust back in Konoha. Even having to earn the respect of others along the way."

The two Sand Snakes nodded as it was a good thing for him to learn, despite circumstances.

Looking back and forth at them, something clicked in his head. "I take it you two aren't here just to chat with me, huh."

"You are right, Naruto." Obara said as her sister went to the weapon's rack and grabbed a spear and a whip. "We aren't here to simply chat."

"We want to personally see what more you've got than from the demonstrations yesterday." Said the other Snake.

Coming back, Nymeria chucked the spear over to Obara, who caught it easily.

Possibly guessing what is worn on her cousins' faces, Arianne spoke up from the balcony. "Please don't kill each other. I'd hate to see Uncle Oberyn's reaction at the end of all this."

The two Sand Snakes snorted.

"No promises," they chorused.

The Uzumaki merely sighed. "Traveling with him for so long, I expected this out of his daughters."

"Ah~ how sweet of you~"

"Would like to see him under my boot when this is all done."

Naruto merely rose a brow, prying his carving knife out of the ground. He rolled his shoulders to ease some tension from his workout. "Some people are sure full of themselves."

"You think you're being cute?"/"You think you're cute?" Voiced Oberyn's two daughters.

"Bitch, I'm adorable." Holding Kubikiribōchō at the ready, he spoke. "Ready when you two are."

The two Snakes smirked before they went into action.

Obara was the first to act as she thrusted her spear, which was parried by Naruto's Kiri sword. The arm which wielded it was soon wrapped around by Nymeria's whip before it was pulled. The Genin stumbled forward, but regained his balance as he had to lean away from Obara's coming attack.

This left him open for Nymeria's next action.

Barreling towards him, Nymeria's knee crashed into Naruto's face with good precision, causing the shinobi to stumble backwards. Without missing a beat, the whipstress coiled around him like a snake and shifted her weight to slam him to the ground. The moment he landed, Naruto ended up letting go of the Kubikiribōchō.

"Cheap shot."

"And the cheapest ones often are the priciest."

Freeing himself from her ensnare, Naruto rolled away before having to push himself away once Obara jabbed her spear where he once was at. Rolling over her next stabbing attack and arcing swing, Naruto soon took hold of his carving knife. Once back up, he swung his sword over to the whipstress.

In a good moment of timing, Nymeria slipped underneath him in order to dodge and used her whip to ensnare his legs. With a hard yank, Naruto was brought back down onto the ground as he let go of his weapon once more.

Wanting to use his weapon against him, Obara grasped hold of the carving knife's handle and pulled. But to her surprise-

"How much does this fucking weigh!?" Exclaimed the spear wielder, giving out a strained grunt. "How the hell were you able to lift this?"

Despite being tied up, Naruto chuckled. "You forget, Obara, I'm quite strong and that's quite heavy." His smile widened even more. "And I think you forgot this."

In a puff of smoke, the Uzumaki performed the replacement jutsu as a log was left in his stead.

Suddenly, Obara was socked across the face as she soon fell onto the ground.

"I'll take back Kubikiribōchō, thank you very much."

Getting back up, the spear wielder rubbed her jaw. "You hit like an angry whore."

"Nah, I merely hit like a bastard."

"Was that supposed to be an insult or a compliment?" Came a voice from up above.

Looking towards the source, both combatants and those of the balcony saw Oberyn leaning on the rails with a smile on his face.

Seemed Arianne, Tyene and her younger sisters were so engrossed in the spar they never noticed the Viper arriving.

"You didn't answer my question, Naruto. Which one was it?"

"...Could it be both?"

Oberyn merely smirked. "Depends where you say it. Now don't stop sparing on my account."

"Wasn't planning to, father." Obara said as she thrusted her spear at the Uzumaki.

Barely noticing the attack coming, Naruto performed a backflip with her weapon striking nothing but air. Soon landing behind her, he brought down the Kubikiribōchō where she stood.

Seeing her sister about to be struck down, Nymeria hurled her whip towards Obara's midsection. Once it quickly wrapped around her, Nymeria pulled hard to get Obara out of the way. Just in time too with the Kiri blade slicing into the earth.

Finishing her tumble, Obara looked back and snarled. "You could've killed me!"

Before he could get the chance to properly apologize, Naruto ducked under the spear's blade that had been aimed at his neck before thrusting forwards with Kubikiribōchō. His opponent parried the attack before pressing in aggressively. Their blades flashed out again with the speed of lighting and met in between their bodies. The clanging sound filled the training yard as they readied for the next strike. Their weapons locked in between them for a moment before the spear broke in half once Naruto pushed a little harder.

"Obara!" Nymeria called out, tossing another spear towards her.

The elder Sand Snake quickly caught the weapon as she gave her little sister a thankful nod before resuming the fight.

From the balcony, Arianne spoke to her uncle. "Should we stop them?"

All she got from the Viper was a hearty chuckle with a bright smile.

From all the times they sparred together and him watching his young friend fight from the sidelines, Oberyn saw how well Naruto went about. All that contained fury slowly released, yet tried his best to keep it in check.

It was oddly beautiful in the Dornish Prince's eyes, if albeit being a strange sight to behold.

"Maybe, but I still want to see how this turns out on their first of many bouts."

This was true. This was something which compelled Oberyn into wanting to witness times over.

He wanted to see how unafraid Naruto was and compare those times to what stories the young shinobi regaled.

That was not something that could truly be taught. Techniques and conditioning could be imparted. But, fearless, courage, those were made from within; albeit trial and error over the years.

Many more lessons were still needed, but Naruto was a true diamond in the rough. Oberyn knew that with enough polish and tending to, the Uzumaki could be a jewel worthy of Dorne… in terms of fighting at least.

From the training ground sidelines, Nymeria wanted to go back in and assist her elder sister. Yet she would merely get in the way with how focused she was in the spar. Nymeria might've gotten hurt in an accident or vice versa.

As they continued trying to hack each other into pieces, Obara tried to run him through with his blade but Naruto was prepared for this. Dodging only enough for the blade to graze his t-shirt, Naruto locked his arm onto the spear to prevent Obara from pulling it free. Before his opponent could really put any force into freeing her blade Naruto's fist collided with her unguarded face. The punch was strong enough to lift Obara up off his feet before he fell back to the ground with a thud.

There was clapping coming from the balcony around them which broke them out of the trance they had been in. Their battle had been so intense that they had focused solely on the other. Their duel had been quite intense and those who watched it nodded their heads in respect.

Obara got up off the ground and stood back up. She was rubbing his jaw once more where the dark marking of a bruise was starting to form already. She spat towards the ground though it was more blood than spit.

In the blink of an eye, Obara struck Naruto across the face as they soon engaged one another again. Seeing as her spearwork wasn't going to work any longer on this spar, she decided to be more physical.

Obara lashed out with violent punches towards Naruto's face. The Uzumaki had to drop Kubikiribōchō as he thought it wouldn't be fair to fight against her with her unarmed. He knew using his Kiri sword would be a bit overkill on her, so decided to brawl against her on even grounds.

Naruto swiveled his head so that Obara's coming punches either missed or casually brushed against him. He did land a few hits on her, which hurt like a bitch on Obara's account but she had been dealt with worse. She had to push herself harder to hopefully land her blows better and avoid his hits.

Obara eventually made a crucial mistake when she got in too close to deliver a right hook to Naruto's temples. The Uzumaki swiftly ducked under the right hook and took the opportunity to deliver a swift uppercut to the Sand Snake's chin.

From their placement in the balcony, both Arianne, Tyene and the younger girls thought Naruto had missed that hit. That was when they saw the elder Sand Snake didn't move after a moment or two, which made them quite worried.

Obara went to throw another punch, yet she fell to the ground as she lost all sort of balance. She tried to stand back up, but her legs just wouldn't support her.

"Hey! What the hell did you do to her?!" Nymeria roared out, stomping towards the Uzumaki. "If you crippled her-"

"I merely hit her sweet spot." Naruto defended, which briefly stopped her murderous advancements. And this merely drew the attention of the princess and her cousins back on the balcony.

"What does that mean, father?" Tyene asked. "Her sweet spot?"

Not wanting to repeat himself, Oberyn spoke loud enough for not just the girls beside him but also his daughters down below to hear. "If the chin is hit just right, it sends shockwaves through one's body. It makes it impossible for the brain to tell the legs how to work right. And don't worry, it only lasts for a few minutes."

"Yeah, what he said." Naruto said with a nervous chuckle. "Glad I did pull my punch there or else she'd indeed be a cripple."

Obara merely grumbled before snarling a little when Naruto reached down and lifted her up like she was a feather and ended up in a bridal carry.

"Let me go, Naruto."

"Would you want me to drop you here and now in such a state?"

She didn't say anything at all, merely having her sharp eyes do the talking.

"Thought so."

Clapping once more, Oberyn spoke up. "Well done, Naruto. Excellent use of speed and power, but your form and skill could use some more fine tuning. Don't you ladies agree?"

"I thought it was amazing!" Obella Sand proclaimed.

"It was fun!" Elia Sand said.

"Do it again!" Spoke Dorea, the last of Oberyn's daughters with Ellaria.

"Eh I think that's enough for today." Oberyn said, much to his three youngest daughters' displeasure. "How about you come up here, Naruto. I want to introduce you to my other girls."

Naruto nodded. Placing Obara down on a nearby bench, the shinobi jumped high and landed on the balcony not far from where the others were situated.

The blond shinobi stood before the three youngest daughters of Oberyn Martell with all of them looking up at him with awe and excitement.

"How do you jump around like that so easily?" The one in the center asked, bouncing on the spot without showing any signs of stopping.

Naruto smirked playfully. "Magic."

His chakra can be seen and labeled as magic to others. Besides, he wouldn't want to hurt their little innocence just yet.

"Really?"

"Really, really?"

"Totally, absolutely, Really." Naruto assured with a foxy grin which made the girls gape in wonder.

Oberyn only grinned at his young girls placing his hands atop the ones on the right and left.

"Naruto, allow me the pleasure of introducing you to my little troublemakers." He gently swayed the one on the left from side to side. "This is little Dorea." the one on the right got a pat on her head. "Obella." he then placed both hands on the center daughter's shoulders, his expression falling momentarily. "And my dear, sweet Elia."

Naruto quirked a brow at the momentary pause from Oberyn but brushed it aside, kneeling down to the three girls to give them a friendly smile.

"The name's Naruto Uzumaki, girls." He introduced himself. "Greatest shinobi extraordinaire you'll ever meet."

"Shinobi?" Elia tilted her head in curiosity. "What's that?"

"A warrior of immense skill." Naruto boasted, thumbing to himself. "As you just saw with your older sisters down there. We specialize in many abilities and special skills."

"Like what?" Obella asked.

Naruto grinned, walking over to a nearby wall. Looking back to make sure the girl's eyes were on him, he placed one foot upon the wall and then other before standing completely adjacent to the floor below him.

He walked up the wall before reaching the ceiling and now stood upside down with a cheeky smirk directed at the completely astonished girls.

"WHOA~~" The three girls jumped about, not being able to contain her excitement.

"I thought I was imagining that earlier!" Obella said with Elia nodding in agreement.

"What else can you do?" Dorea asked.

"Well us shinobi specialize in espionage and assassination and hand to hand combat." Naruto listed off, holding up three fingers.

"Assassination?" Elia repeated quizzically.

"Did you kill a lot of men?" Obella spoke out.

Naruto blinked at the question, head moving back slightly at such a question coming from a young girl like her.

"That's not something you should ask, my dear Obella." Oberyn admonished his youngest. It wasn't harsh or uncaring, but informative.

Personally, Naruto agreed as he was thankful for the Viper's little intervention.

"I did kill a lot of people." He said gently. "But it was mostly out of mercy. Your father can attest to that."

"That is true." The Dornish prince chuckled on the memory. "Facing such horrors in that godforsaken place can be considered a mercy with what all those people suffered through."

"Don't forget that crazy Lannister."

"How can I forget him."

Naruto chuckled, only earning confused looks from the three young Sand Snakes. "But back where I came from, I can literally count the number of people on my hand alone on who I killed. Those were not really merciful."

"Like who?" Elia curiously asked.

"Well there's this one dictator who was the uncle of the rightful ruler of this rather nice kingdom." Uzumaki began. "Then… there was this one person who I once considered a friend."

The kids were very attentive now on the tale Naruto was spinning towards them.

"Killing may be necessary, but it's not to be glorified." He told the young Sand Snakes. "Taking the life of another is not something to be taken lightly."

"But weren't they bad men?" She pressed the shinobi.

"They did bad things, no doubt about that. While most bad men have families who will miss them, the two I knew better hardly had any at all. Doto killed his brother in cold blood when staging a coup as he saw him as weak while wanting to hunt down his niece and rightful heir to the throne. There was no love for that asshole of a dictator."

Naruto sighed, scratching the back of his head. "And Sasuke… Sasuke was going down a really dark path. Wanting to go to a horrible man, a man who performed all of these horrific atrocities, in order to gain power."

"Why?"

"Because he wanted to kill his older brother for what he did to his family." Came Naruto's answer. "I was ordered to take him back home to be put on trial for defecting our home, but battle often makes things hard to hold back."

The three girls were taken back on this bit of information while Arianne, Tyene and Oberyn frowned on the reminder.

"Now I don't want to be such a downer on this or anything, but generally we, as good people, should respect the sadness of the families affected by the death of said people. And don't be too happy about their pain. I did what needed to be done to protect those precious to me."

After saying this, Naruto didn't know how Itachi would feel about him killing his younger brother. He had heard good things about the only Uchiha left there is before the massacre about ten years ago. Itachi must still have a small part of him loving his brother, right? Would he mourn for him or ignore it all together. Who knows.

Those present were a bit quiet, processing what the young Uzumaki said.

Oberyn could feel a little mixed between baffled and impressed by his young friend.

The Viper can understand a little about Naruto with what he's been through. He can even agree with respecting the families of those who have died. But that can only go so far as certain families should never be forgiven for their actions.

The sins of the father are not of the son unless they act upon them. This is what his mother, Loreza Martell -last ruler and head of House Nymerios-Martell- one said when she was alive as a lesson to her children.

Oberyn agreed with this quite well as it can be applied to several other scenarios. But the point was that in the end, people often refuse to forgive and forget the wrongs upon others. And rightfully so with what had been done towards his family.

Obella's faced twisted quizzically. "So… Do you solve killing with killing?"

Naruto chuckled slightly at that morbid comment,

"That's not really my style. I often try to talk my way through… while kicking the crap out of my opponent till they give up."

Oberyn laughed at Naruto's response while Arianne and Tyene snickered.

The three youngest Sand Snakes slowly understood this, not before Naruto ruffled the hair on top of their heads. They fussed in response.

"I believe you'll all be a very smart women if you've realized this already."

The little girls beamed at Naruto with a smile that could have outshone the very sun. But they couldn't match the one whiskered teen wore as his smile stretched ear to ear with his fox-like grin.

The eyes of Arianne gazed upon the scene and held a lot of warmth in them. And she didn't have to look at her cousin and uncle to tell they shared the same feeling she bore right now. But the Dornish princess' gaze soon became something else as she would become a little more fascinated with their gaze as she'll want to explore more with him in some manner.

Her cousin, however, had something spark within her. Tyene was briefly curious about it, but ignored it as she thought it was nothing.

"What else can you do?" Dorea inquired, making Naruto gaze at her for a moment before grinning once more.

Placing his hands together, there was a burst of smoke that surrounded Naruto for a brief moment. When it dispersed, the Martell-Sand family was met with the sight of a carbon copy of Oberyn Martell with signature matching grin in place.

The youngest daughters jaws dropped, looking back and forth between their father and the mirror image with both crossing their arms.

"There are… two fathers?"

"Oh, two?" The copy of Oberyn crossed his fingers and suddenly, three more Oberyn's appeared around them, furthering the shock of the younger daughters of the male Martell.

"I find myself quite fascinating, if I do say so myself." Oberyn mused aloud, stroking his chin in amusement.

"One Oberyn Martell is enough, Naruto." Arianne stated with a pointed look.

"Oh don't be so crude, dear niece."

"No, she's right." The clone Oberyn changed back to Naruto with a plumb of smoke. "I don't know if I can stand there being more of you."

"Now that's just rude. Why Ellaria would love it if there were more of me." Oberyn's look said it all.

Naruto and Arianne shared a look before speaking in sync. "That's what we're afraid of."

"You treat me like I'm such a bad guy." Oberyn complained in a faux-insulted manner.

Arianne sighed, poking the side of her uncle's head. "If only you knew how many answers we had at our disposal."

Oberyn only huffed. "I guess next time I come back from my excursions, you won't be getting any gifts."

"Do I need to retrieve Handy?"

Oberyn quickly shook his head 'no', earning some giggles from Arianne and Tyene.

"Who's Handy?" Dorea inquired.

"Yeah, who's that?" Obella said next.

"That doesn't sound like a name at all." Elia noted.

"It really doesn't, but sadly I'm not that great with names." Naruto admitted, by this point reverting back to normal. "I'll show you girls later…. When your dad is present. You'll love his reaction."

"And I'll be far away if you plan on doing what I think you'll be doing."

"Oh don't be such a sour-puss, Oby-san."

"Precocious brat."

"Manwhore."

"And where is Handy anyways?" Tyene asked.

"Back in my room. Didn't think on taking her out with me." Naruto shrugged.

Tyene nodded before looking towards her younger sisters. "Now, come on, we need to take you to your lessons."

The younger girls groaned, much to the amusement of the others.

"But they are so boring."

"I'd rather keep playing."

"Or going back to sleep."

"Sorry, girls, but you need to take your lessons." Oberyn informed them. "Now hop along and don't run off again. Your sister will tell me if you do."

Tyene merely smirked at her young sisters as they groaned.

"If it helps, we can play later." Naruto spoke out.

The three looked up to the whiskered blonde with differing, yet similar bright looks on their faces.

"You will?" Asked Elia.

"Yeah, I will. Only if you take your lessons." Naruto told them.

Arianne snorted a little. "That seems too good to be true."

"What is, Arianne?"

"Them taking their lessons." She responded. "Well more like taking it seriously."

Naruto chuckled, rubbing the back of his head. "Yeah, that'll be bound to happen at their age."

Naruto could tell the three were much like Konohamaru, Udon and Moegi with how they were acting now. He can only imagine how much they'll be so in the coming years.

"Taking this from experience?" Asked the princess.

"Who wouldn't. Depends on how boring the lectures are." Laughed the Uzumaki. "Ditched my classes often with a few classmates of mine. Run off to the nearby forest and play and lay down to watch the clouds passing by."

Oberyn snorted. "Not hard to imagine with someone like you."

"Won't argue with you on that one, Oby-san." Naruto remarked.

"Aren't you supposed to encourage and educate the youth?" Arianne inquired, arm around Elia who looked up to her older cousin.

Naruto snorted. "If the Martell family is anything like Oberyn, I've learned they all do things at their own pace."

Arianne and Tyene gaped slightly in an affronted manner whilst Oberyn guffawed.

"Y-Yes, yes that is true." Oberyn said, wiping a tear out of his eye. "I could never learn the way the Maesters wanted me to. Tyene here sometimes does the same with Obara and I hear Dorea sometimes does the same with Nymeria."

"Speaking of lessons." Tyene walked over and wrapped her arms around her three younger sisters. "Come on you three, it's time for yours. And no more delays this time."

The collective 'Aw~' from all three girls.

"The sooner you three are done with your lessons, the sooner you get to play with Naruto." Chimed in their father.

The three girls nodded respectively before scurrying along to where they'll need to take their lessons for the day. And not far behind was Tyene, who looked back and gave him a little thankful nod before turning back to catch up to her sisters.

"Well then," Oberyn said. "This morning was… eventful if we could call it that. Saw my two daughters get defeated and my three youngest get enraptured by Sunspears newest guest."

Naruto shrugged.

"What shall you do now, Naruto?" Arianne inquired.

The blond haired shinobi rubbed the back of his head in thought, humming to himself.

"Probably explore the city outside of the keep some point today." Was the first thing to come out of Naruto's mouth. "Asides from that, maybe go to Plankytown to actually see the stalls there."

"Got room for a companion?" Oberyn asked. "It appears most of my family is going to be preoccupied for the time being."

"Your home, Oby-san. Can't stop ya."

The Viper nodded before turning to Arianne. "Perhaps you could come along. Get you out and about, my dear niece."

"Perhaps. But it mostly pertains to what my father will want of me today." She stated. "I do know there are several things he needs me for, but don't know if they'll be immediate or not."

"Then I think you should ask him soon rather than later."

Arianne nodded at her uncle's suggestion.

"I shall do so… after our stroll around Sunspear." She said coyly. "Gives me some time to figure out how to deal with whatever it is he will likely ask of me."

Leaving the training grounds, with the faint sounds of Nymeria and Obara practicing and refining their fighting prowess, the two Martells guided Naruto along some of the corridors.

"So," Naruto began. "Since this is your home, and only been to a few places so far, where to first?"

-Scene Cut-

"Alright, that guy was so full of crap." Naruto declared, stomping away from a smith shop with an irate look to his face. "Try to con me? I'll kick your ass good."

Naruto was walking alongside Arianne and Oberyn as they were exploring Shadow City. It's streets were somewhat deserted today with some of the Dornish populace roaming about. But this would change once the sun sets as everything in the city truly comes to life, so what he was told. There would be all sorts of music playing, brothels lighted up and filled to the brim and so much more.

Behind them was a stall that had a thoroughly beaten smith 'con man' that had managed to earn the ire of one Naruto Uzumaki.

"Was that really necessary, Naruto?" Arianne asked, glancing back at the smith shop.

"Yes." Naruto stated. "It was done in the name of justice. Lest he stays and tricks and cons more people."

Oberyn chortled aloud at his statement, finding it hard to argue such a belief.

"Oh~ And why do you claim as such?" Arianne inquired.

Naruto thumped his chest. "This comes from experience. There was one thing Tenten's grandfather told me which does well when being a merchant. Hell, it could even be applied when out on a mission."

"And what would that be?" Asked the Dornish princess.

"If you're too afraid of being tricked, then you'll always miss the chance to make it big." Naruto quotes, which resulted in the Viper being a little curious. "Let's say that you're limited on information and options, whether it be selling or buying certain items or going after someone you're tracking down. What would you do exactly for them?"

Oberyn pondered on these words for several moments. Once digesting them, he spoke. "I would probably take a leap of faith. I would take a risk in selling what I have or buying something from the other as it might turn out to be good in the end or not. And with pursuing someone, I would have to say fuck it and go to the destination the man is probably located, even if it might be complete horseshit."

"Exactly."

Arianne nodded as she took this little lesson to heart as it'll be useful for when she takes her father's spot once he either steps down or passes on from this world.

Oberyn chuckled a little. "You seem smarter than you appear to be, Naruto."

"Well I had good teachers."

"Me included."

"...Yeah, keep telling yourself that."

Oberyn sniffled. "Hurtful."

Arianne rolled her eyes at her uncle's childish behavior.

Coming across a food stall, the vendor was quick to offer the two Martells and Uzumaki some snake meat he was grilling on a brazier. They were turning out quite crispy on the wooden skewers as the man was applying a fresh coat of sauce onto it. In between each piece of meat was some dragon peppers as there seemed to be traces of mustard seeds.

Once purchasing them, they went on their merry way as they feasted on the little morsel.

"Could go for some Ramen." Naruto said, his mouth full.

"Ramen?"

"A noodle dish from his home." Oberyn said quickly.

Naruto gulped his bite down. "Food of the Gods."

"Food of the Gods?" Arianne repeated, chuckling. "Are you telling me the Seven eat this Ramen?"

"If they claim to be Gods." Naruto said in complete seriousness.

Arianne looked to her Uncle who only gave her a wry grin.

"That's quite the belief, Naruto." Arianne remarked. "Is this Ramen you speak of truly that divine in taste?"

"It's beyond that!" Naruto said passionately. "Ramen has been a constant in my life that has given me purpose and meaning towards the end of everyday, week, month, year, mission, date and all that comes before my day."

"It's more of an addiction when you phrase it like that." Oberyn pointed out.

"NAYSAYER!" Naruto cried out dramatically. "A heathen stands before me."

Arianne hummed aloud. "Heathen seems like an appropriate description for you, Uncle."

"I, along with many of my fellow Dornishman, can be considered a heathen, a barbarian to the likes of others. Something I quite embrace." Oberyn only laughed in response. "So Naruto, how are you liking Dorne thus far?"

Naruto shrugged. "Seems good so far. The sunny days remind me of the weather back home in Konoha. Looks quite different than what I'm used to, being a forested environment and all. But Dorne is something else."

"Ours is a harsh land, and poor, yet not without its richness and beauty." Arianne stated with pride and love showing for her homeland.

"Got nothing against ya on that, princess. Everyone's bound to love their home more than others. Knowing the ins and outs at a moments notice than what others take a while to figure out."

"Yes. Our culture, our beliefs. They all stem from various peoples who have all been unified under the banner of the spear piercing the sun."

"Only got the basics on most of them, Arianne. It'll take time for me to know them all."

"No problem. In due time, you'll become a fine Dornishman, Naruto." Arianne assured.

Naruto looked a bit bashful. "Heh, maybe. Though home will always be home for me."

The princess was in agreement with him on that.

When living in one particular place for so long, it truly becomes your home. Growing up there for years since your birth or moving there at some point in your life. It often depends on how committed you are to accepting the place as your home than where you previously lived.

With Naruto living with them for now on, he will eventually become a Dornishman. Not completely, merely adopting their customs onto his way of life. But give him time and things might differ on that.

"Been meaning to ask of this, but what do you plan on doing while living with us?" Inquired the heir of Sunspear.

Naruto opened his mouth to answer then clamped it shut. He tried again only to resort to the same from before.

"Don't exactly know." Naruto admitted.

Arianne blinked in response.

"Pardon?"

"I mean, sure, I've been thinking about this a lot on the trip over here, but never able to fully commit with what to do." He informed her. "I'm stuck here with no means of returning where I came from. So I need to make due with what I can. As you may remember, I'm a shinobi and I do all sorts of tasks."

"Tasks you say?" Arianne said. "A sellsword to pass the time then?"

"Maybe." Naruto threw up his hands. "Might as well give that a go around here. Honestly, all I'm really gonna do is just train, study and learning. I'm gonna be bored out of my ass. And since I can't exactly be a shinobi while I'm here, I might as well have something to fall back on."

Overhearing his young friend's predicament, Oberyn pondered for several moments before a candle lit up inside of his head. "I've got an idea. But first, I'll need to have a chat with my brother."

-Later, Elsewhere-

"So where is it you're taking me?"

"It's a surprise."

Naruto had to fight back a comeback in a negative manner. Thoughts of Oberyn pranking him in an obscene manner came in his mind. Like taking him someplace that's rather embarrassing for the whiskered teen.

For instance, a pleasure house.

Yet that wasn't the case for two reasons. One was the genuine seriousness on the Viper's face. The second was the two of them still being within the palace grounds as they were walking through the courtyard.

"We're here."

Coming to a stop, Naruto saw what appeared to be a small one story building with a chimney stack that served as its roof.

"And this place is…?"

Oberyn ushered him inside. Once passing through the doorway, Naruto gazed upon a sight which made him quickly know what it was right away. From the equipment sprawled and placed about, some assortment of works hanging on certain racks with tools on another. So on and so forth.

"Okay… so this is your smithing shop." Naruto realized. "Any reason why you brought me here?"

"Yes there is."

"Then shouldn't we go inside and meet your smither? I think I have the idea on what you're suggesting and I'd like to assist him."

"...About that…"

"Is there something wrong?"

"Well, yes."

"Then what is it?"

"If you can give me a damn moment, I can explain it to you."

"...Sorry."

"Good. Now then, our smither -Mason- is no longer with us."

"You mean he retired, moved elsewhere or-"

"He's dead."

"Oh… sorry for your loss."

"It's fine. Mason has been getting on in years. We just didn't know when he'd finally pass."

"Then when was his passing?"

"A few days prior to our arrival."

"Oh… question: who's manning the forge?"

"That's the reason why I brought you here. Doran and I would like it if you could run it."

Naruto blinked in surprise before voicing his disbelief. "Excuse me?"

"Well let me explain, Naruto." Oberyn said with his arms crossed. "You see, Mason never had apprentices or family to pass the shop onto them. So by right, my brother took possession of it and sought out a worthy palace smither."

"And I'm guessing he hadn't found one yet."

"Right. He wanted to wait several days after Mason's funeral before seeking someone out. If he did so right away, it would make things look bad instantly replacing such a good working servant."

Naruto nodded, prompting Oberyn to continue.

"Now my brother would've had people come over to apply for the vacant seat. But upon meeting you, seeing what work you've done, your qualification as a Valyrian steel reforger and my backing, Doran had decided to give you the chance to run this place."

Naruto could admit he was quite speechless. Here he was already asking for a job at the palace and already got one off the bat.

The Uzumaki expected he'd possibly be a normal servant and doing his part in taking care of the grounds. Granted he would end up replacing the majority of the staff with his shadow clones, but that would be too unfair for the rest of them.

But here, Oberyn and Doran were giving him a smithing shop of his very own. A place where he can keep up with his craft. Not to mention he can use the area as he saw fit.

A fox-like grin formed as many ideas flowed through his head. The many items he thought he could forge here would make things rather fun. Yet the time making them all will be increased, due to limitations on technology.

Despite that downside, Naruto had no problem with it all.

Before getting ahead of himself, the genin asked a question. "I take it this all ain't for free."

Oberyn nodded. "You're right on that one, Naruto. You will need to make weapons, commissions and other necessities for whatever my brother and the captain of the guard, Areo Hotah, requests out of you. And materials will need to be budgeted through us, unfortunately."

The Uzumaki nodded in complete understanding.

When he worked at Tenten's smithing shop, he learned of this through and through. Some projects and orders of his had to be redone, which cost quite a bit as her family needed to secure more materials in order to continue the work. This was either through the Hokage or the merchants where they got most items from.

"Now then, shall we head inside for your little inspection?"

With a smile, Naruto soon went inside and gave a look around the workshop.

All around was a variety of equipment and stations which made up the Forge. It was of a standard layout with one part lying the smith anvil, the closed forge with an air pump to help keep the flames burning, the oil and water baths and an assorted set of tools hanging on the far off wall.

Another end had a standardized kiln and a smaller sized one for what Naruto guessed was for specific works with the varied tataras for blum making. Nearby was a carving station for woodwork and finer details on metalwork.

Like before, Naruto wished there could've been some better forms of technology for his disposal. For instance motorized power hammers, sanders and other machines to make his time running this place run smoother.

"I take it things are to your liking?"

"So far, yes." Naruto scratched his cheek as he eyed the place more. "Some spots I'll need to move around and possibly expand upon."

"How so?"

"Remember the forging room we came across at the Valyrian shrine?" Oberyn nodded as Naruto continued. "Well I cleaned the place up and have all of those materials in one of my scrolls. I'll be sure to place them all in here to make it all better."

"Oh? Like what exactly?"

"Well there's a screw press, a rolling press, foot pedaled sanding and polishing wheels in so many sizes and grits, and…"

Oberyn wondered why Naruto suddenly stopped talking as he was listing off these equipment the Valyrians previously had. He was so enthusiastic earlier, but suddenly became… annoyed all of a sudden.

"...Is something wrong?"

"Yeah, that." The shinobi held out a hand and went towards something hanging from the ceiling. "I mean, what the fuck is that hell?"

Oberyn looked over to where Naruto was pointing at. There he saw a lantern made entirely out of wood as it hung from the ceiling with other wooden pieces holding it there. The design of it was oval shaped with various openings around it so a match can get in there to light it up.

"What's wrong with the lantern?"

"First off, Oby-san, that lantern should not have been made at all or at least designed in metal instead of wood." Naruto walked up the wall and towards the ceiling before unhooking the thing. "What if sparks were to land on this thing and get it caught ablaze. Even if this was placed elsewhere, there's no glass to do a better job of lighting up the area. Not to mention that I believe this is a demon's irony lantern, designed to make you die by lighting a single match. Kami, hell, what is this fuckery?"

"Don't blame me, Naruto. Blame the previous blacksmith that worked here."

"Did the guy at least have a lover?" The Uzumaki unlatched from the ceiling and landed on the ground. "If so then I might blame her if she convinced him to hang this monstrosity in this workshop instead of his living quarters."

The Viper merely rolled his eyes. "Then what are ya gonna do with it now?"

"Kindling unless you want it."

-End Chapter-

AN:

To quote Snake from the Metal Gear series: "Kept you waiting, huh?"

Really gotta thank my pal free man writer for helping me out on this. Not fully working on this for over a year and a half at this point. When I couldn't figure out how to proceed on this, I had to put this into storage per say and focus on A Nobody for a time before I ended up starting ASoFIaH.

In part, believe with my other story going on right now, it's giving my friend and I experience on how to write the Dornishmen a bit more among other things. Not to mention experience on some layouts when not really getting in deep on certain styled chapters. Previously been grasping at straws and trying my best solo, but obviously been stressing out on that and needed help at some point.

Hopefully with the announcement of the remake of Demon's Souls, it'll give me more drive to work through this. Not to mention reading more stories on how to better write out GoT as a whole. More of those have been coming up as of late and been slowly cooking up things in the backburner of my mind.

Anyways, onto one detail on the story I should mildly note deals with the rest of Oberyn's daughters. It is brought up in both books and show that he has 8 daughters total. In the show, his daughter Elia is the youngest of his children and was born leading up to season 1 or born shortly after. Yet in the books, Elia is the oldest of his children with Ellaria. Another thing is that the girls Obella and Dorea are hard to tell how old exactly in the story while Loreza is 7 by the time A Feast of Crows comes around. To save some time and effort, I'm just gonna have Obella, Dorea and Elia be roughly the same age range of 4-6 years old and have Loreza being born when canon comes around.

Anyways, be sure to review this story guys! Would like the criticisms. Please and thank you!
