Hey everyone… *sighs* This chapter might (or might not) be short because of what I'm trying to introduce, what I'm revealing, explaining, blah, blah, blah, etc. Bleh. Anyways in this chapter, you're going to see exactly HOW different this Amazon AU is compared to Jaune Sparda's world. There might be some flashbacks but… who knows? I might R63 or genderbend some characters. (I don't know the proper term)
Rooster Teeth is the owner of RWBY. Anything else that I introduce is probably already owned.
From Dust till Dawn
Nighttime
An 18-year old Yang wandered around the store searching for the Dust that she needed for her weapons. She sighed as she again managed to lose herself. While she was smart thanks to her teacher… her sense of direction sucked. They once said,
"You could probably get lost in a one exit hallway"
which kind of hurt her at the time but she laughed at the comment later on. Eventually, she came back to the dust aisle… which was being robbed by women in suits. Sure… why not? She snuck around the robbers and waited for them to separate. When one of them went to the other side to grab some dust she grabbed them and hit their temple quickly with more than enough force to leave them unconscious. Her mentor taught her that sometimes using excessive force was necessary. That way the person who fought you would either a. think twice before fighting you or b. get stronger for you to get better or to keep beating their asses.
She snuck around knocking out henchwomen until there was only the big fish and two henchwomen left. She recognized the boss as Grecia Torchwick. Pulling out her private scroll (not the one she had for everyday use) and opening one of the many files her mentor gave her, she pulled up the file on the well-dressed criminal.

Yang took out a gun with a cocktail mixture of sedatives that would either one: leave with a hell of a hangover or two: kill her. She didn't particularly care as her teacher densitzed her to killing in one of the most archaic manners. She raised an adorable bunny for about 2 years before being forced to kill it. That method hadn't been used since before The Culling. Yang shivered remembering that event from her studies. She took careful aim… and fired thrice. Her aim struck true causing them to fall within milliseconds. She tied up the thieves with some rope from the store after asking the owner if it was okay. She left after getting her dust for a discount thanks to saving the owner and stopping the robbery with minimal-to-no damage. 'Score' she thought as she walked to the hotel she lived in.
Yes, lived in. She and her teacher had saved the life of a rich woman who happened to own a chain of quality hotels. As such she vowed to repay them in any way she could. Her mentor asked for sixty-thousand Lien in cold hard cash for themself and a permanent residence for Yang. She was told to stay there and live until 'the day came' whatever that meant. Taking out her keycard she swiped it and entered her modest living space. Her mentor said that it would be good so she wouldn't attract attention. A single underage girl living in a penthouse? Something's not right here. A single girl in a modest living space. Nobody looked her way twice.
Her room was mostly spartan and didn't really have any decorations except a photo of her with a female… and a male. It was a younger her, her master's second apprentice, and her master.
(1)She wore a coat with two tails, an orange undershirt, brown boots with a purple scarf above her left one, fingerless gloves, mirrored sunglasses with her hair in a ponytail. In the middle of her and her only friend was her master. He had white hair, blue eyes, a red trench coat, black jeans, red boots, black fingerless gloves, a black or really dark gray jacket, and a claymore with a skeleton design as the hilt. Her friend had blonde hair, blue eyes, a black corset with a lightning-bolt shaped opening down the middle, a choker, some kind of wristguard, black skinny jeans, and black high heels. She smiled remembering all of their adventures, missions, and celebrations together. She hid the picture in a false bottom drawer when she heard someone knocking on her door. She took out and hid a small dagger and brought out her tranquilizer gun. She wasn't expecting any guests and she didn't know where she lived. Her mentor made sure of that. Opening the door she saw…
Headmistress Asteria. Headmistress Asteria of Beacon Academy. Headmistress Asteria of Beacon Academy was in front of her. Why was Headmistress Asteria of Beacon Academy in front of her? She opened her mouth to greet her before the woman spoke.
"I have access to many sources of information and yet nobody seems to know your name or who you are. Legally speaking, you don't exist… interesting." she said causing Yang to be freaked out by the woman. Steadying her hand she was about to quick draw and then book it before she spoke. "How would you like to join Beacon Academy?"
"I'm sorry, what did you say?" Yang said, having been distracted by formulating an escape plan. Did she?- Was she?- Huh?
"I said, would you like to join Beacon Academy?" Headmistress Asteria calmly repeated. Yang just nodded not trusting herself to have the brain capacity to respond and not make a fool out of herself. The woman just grinned before asking for her name. She thought for a second before giving her name. Her mentor was like the father she never had so it was only fair she took his last name.
"Yang, Yang Sparda," she said with a soft smile getting lost in memories not noticing the headmistresses widening eyes. The woman just nodded and left hurriedly. Yang just headed straight towards her bed and conked out. Unknown to her a pair of blue eyes watched from the shadows and glared at the door. With all that they knew, they knew that Asteria wanted something from Yang. Looking at Yang their eyes softened before opening the window silently, closing it, and jumping off into the dark night.
Two days later
Yang was on the bullhead towards Beacon Academy. She wasn't really expecting much if her teacher's words were anything to go by. They wouldn't really teach you anything you wouldn't find in a book until maybe late second-year/ mid third-year. She tuned out the words by a recording of 'The Wicked Witch'. That was her name in some underground circles. Glynda Goodwitch taught at Beacon for about three years and then took a vacation. Some said it was probably because she has so much work being a teacher already and being Vice-Headmistress wasn't helping her so she pooled vacation days and the like to relax and unwind… goes to show what little they knew. She had the displeasure of running into her (in a disguise of course) a year ago during her 'vacation'. She knew what Glynda Goodwoth really was.
Glynda Goodwith was secretly… a huntress.
Now, now, hold on. Before you close this tab let me explain. I know that Glynda is a Huntress, but that is mostly for Grimm, missions, and the like. This type of a Huntress… hunted people. More specifically, rogue huntresses. Thinking that Yang was a rogue huntress when she was seeing her beating down a couple of bandits she was on her like white on rice in a glass of milk. Thankfully her friend managed to get the drop on her… no literally. She literally dropped from the sky and wrecked her. If what they saw was correct, Glynda should have a scar the same size of a thin heel over her kidney. If she had survived of course. The human nervous system could only take so much electricity before it fried and melted. Also, she wouldn't be winning beauty contests any time soon. A face that was partially burned/scarred by a hand that had a glove outlined with Scorch dust was bound to guarantee that.
I'm going to be generous and give an explanation on what scorch dust is. I will have various discrepancies across fanfics from their canon. Some will be explained by the writing and scene… others are a bit more complicated. These things are going to be in something I like to call my Requiem Files which I don't know why I named them that way.
Requiem Files: Scorch Dust- This type of dust is known as the father of fire dust and is roughly 2-2.75x stronger than normal fire dust. The reason for this is because it is found deeper into the planet. If fire dust were to be found within 100 feet of digging down, scorch dust would be found around 200 feet. This is not completely true but just an example. Scorch dust is stronger the closer it was found to the core of the planet and said to derive its power from the heat of the core. It is also different from other dust types. The reason for this being that where most other dust crystals, gems, shards, ores, and whatever were one solid color, scorch seems to be a fiery-orange with a single brown stripe wrapping around it diagonally. The reason for this phenomena is unknown although some researchers theorize that the heat of the crystal itself is burning its shell and within several centuries might spontaneously combust. The logic behind this theory is that no two dust crystals have the stripe of exactly the same width. They are thicker or thinner depending on where they were found. Going by the theory, some raw scorch dust crystals were ready to explode and based on the fact that scorch is hotter and lasts longer, there would be quite the explosion. Tests on trying to make them explode have yielded no results and as such have been abandoned.
I didn't mean to type all that but… whatever. Anyways now that you're all informed… partially anyway, back to the chapter… if I can remember how it was supposed to go...
Yeah… she didn't know how the gloves were created since scorch dust was supposedly very volatile and impossible to dust weave. She wondered how she was doing before walking off the bullhead and into the academy. Walking into the 'Castle that looks like it belonged in Disney' (according to her teacher[she never did find out what a disney was]) she saw a variety of females and… oh no.
No. Oh, no. No, no, no, no,no,no,nonononono. What was she doing here?! She said she hated huntresses! She instantly went to blend in with the crowd but it was all for naught. As soon as she felt the tingle at the bottom of her neck she knew that the jig was up. She dared to look back only to see red lips curved into a smirk.
'Crap' was Yang's only thought. She shouldn't have looked back. If she kept walking maybe she would've forgotten about her… maybe. She was given a wink and kiss blown at her. Yang hadn't blushed easily in forever, considering her past she was practically desensitized to anything like that but that… that… thing always managed to push her buttons. She refused to believe that her once companion was human… in a sense, not the race, she wasn't racist at all. She was saved from the she-devil by the headmistress calling their attention. She looked through her speech cards, nodded once… and threw them away.
"Do any of you know what I'm doing right now?" She saw several females around her exchange glances, most likely thinking this was a trick question. She saw the she-devil smirk and she just knew that no good would come out of this.
"You're improvising," she called out "your given speech wasn't suited for this and so you're scrapping it and just winging it."
The headmistress and everyone else in the room minus Yang -who had reached the same conclusion- looked at her. The headmistress made a small, almost unnoticeable gesture and Glynda wrote something down that wasn't missed by Yang and the other apprentice.
"Yes," Asteria spoke, regaining everyone's attention "out there in the real world, planning things beforehand can work in business, romance, dinner plans, and the like, but against grimm which have no rational behaviour patterns, one must be able to adapt, work under the worst of circumstances, survive, and even thrive." her eyes looked like they were trying their utmost to read her only friend's non-existing soul. "Today you will be set against either a teacher or a fourth-year student. I do not expect you to win, but if you do…" her eyes then roamed the entire audience with some people having her gaze linger on them just a tad longer. "You may get a free huntress license." While others traded some excited chatter going around the hall, the two blondes eyes narrowed. They didn't miss how she said 'may' which, in their previous line of work usually meant 'no but I'm still teasing your brain into thinking yes'. Of course knowing this information didn't really mean anything unless you had additional pieces of information but that was neither here nor there.
After the rest of the speech was over they were each given a ticket to their designated testing areas. Of course some preliminary background checks ensured that anybody who were friends weren't in the same area. No need to give them any unnecessary advantages, right? Yang was sorting through her thoughts and revised her arsenal once more. She assessed her aura and the optimal aura channels.
I'm back! This shouldn't take as long… hopefully
Requiem Files: Aura Channels- Aura Channels are connected to the Aura Core making it like rivers connected to an ocean. The channels have certain 'hotspots'; these areas can channel aura much faster than other areas. The biggest channels flow to the sternum, skull, and spine. These channels are also the RWBY-verse equivalent of 'circuits' from the Nasuverse and 'chakra coils' from the Naruto-verse. Though they may be this multiverse's equivalent, they do not exist in the majority of the RWBY-verse. Some channels flow directly through muscles and so when having aura channeled automatically enhances someone's direct ability. I.E. leg muscles- speed/endurance/strength/etc.
Looking around she mentally threw a party that would have the Schnees weeping in envy. The she-devil wasn't here which was always a win in her book. She didn't know why, but her mere presence just ticked her off. While she was busy preparing herself another female walked up to her with a mix of curiousness and annoyance on her face. Yang felt a tap on her shoulder and immediately whipped out a knife towards said person's jugular. Luckily they had reflexes sharp enough to avoid being un-alived. Looking at the almost victim she took in a mixture of white and blues.
"Who are you?" the pale girl asked impetuously. Yang didn't even spare her a glance. Her teacher told her that people only demand things when they don't have them. Be it money, an item, intelligence, or something else. This gave her leverage and power. If they wanted something -depending on what it was- they would have to pay a price. Based on who she was Yang would make her pay a lot. Yang looked at her number and hoped that she wasn't in a group with the now Schnee heiress. Walking over to the B-sect she saw two other women there. Both were faunus but one was a cat while the other was a cow. A quick swipes through her scroll showed her everything she needed to know. Jezebel Taurus and Blake Belladonna huh?
This was going to be an interesting set-up.
A few minutes later she took it back. This team set-up was shit.
The Schnee distrusted the faunus, the faunus were being a bit uppity and she was sure that this friction would either throw their opponent off or make it easier for them to be defeated.
...They were so going to lose weren't they?
Jaune was annoyed at having to be in a female form. Apparently, when he linked himself to Dante Alighieri's power he had a tiny portion of the nine circles absorbed and contained within himself. Accessing the circle of Lust gave Jaune an aura of charm as a male, or a female form that was greatly desired. His face fell flat when Dante popped over to give a few tips and some help. Izanagi allowed outside help, so long as they weren't actively doing everything for him.
Pretending to not know Yang and to not hug after seeing her was a monumental feat that he didn't feel proud of. Finding out Yang's past in this world made it all the more harder not to kill the Raven in this world. To find out that Summer Rose was still alive in this world was a huge shock. The fact that Tai-Yang Xiao Long was an underground fighter didn't really help matters. Willet Branwen was another surprise that almost sent him in for a loop but wasn't really anything special. The fact that she was sober and a stick-in-the-mud did send him in for a loop.
Jaune wanted nothing more than to go on a rampage and destroy this world. This world, which had perverted all of his friends and family -in his opinion- shouldn't be allowed to exist. The Circles of Wrath and Violence were always quick to answer his negative thoughts and were constantly urging him to use bloodshed as an answer to his problems. Shaking his head and being mindful of his long hair he tried to shake his negativity away with only minor success. He smirked as his combatant was Glynda Goodwitch. Although the teacher gave some advice to him back when he was still a student, it was always said with a partially condescending undertone. The only reason Jaune picked up on it was because other kids used the same tone mocking his dream growing up.
Jaune slid into a semi-relaxed combat stance. Ready for anything the teacher would be able to throw at him short of Beacon Academy. His smirk became wider when she entered at a relaxed and just blitzed them out of responded in kind by meeting her halfway and threw a lightning dust-weave gloved punch at her face and discharged several thousand volts at the point of impact. Jaune allowed himself a bit more of relaxation and a comment in this fight.
"Rule number one of combat, be alert and on guard for any and everything!" Finishing his comment he raced towards the teacher and proceeded to attack.
From a distance Ozma watched… Muma? Strange name… unless he was wrong that name was derived from one of the dead languages. One from the time of the brother gods. Jaune sensed an inkling of magic power from her.
Strange… he thought he drained each of his daughters of their magic.
(1)Yang volume 4 outfit
Hey everyone.
*sighs* Happy new year, have a safe quarantine, all that jazz blah, blah, blah. I'm sorry I haven't updated in forever. I was caught up in a whole bunch of school work and then the quarantine came. Throughout both I was struck with more depression than normal. I started reading and writing fanfiction as a method to deal with it but was drained of inspiration for a while. Now that I've graduated I should have some more time for writing. Anyways, sorry for the short chapter. Hopefully the next chapter can include more content. Next up on the list is An Arc's Requiem so check that out. I've started a separate fanfic, I know, I know, why are you doing this? You already have four to work on. Meh, blame my brain.
Favorite. Follow. Review. And remember, to stay weird fam.
