Chapter 35
"It seems the goblet is now ready," Dumbledore announced as the flames inside the goblet turned red, and shot a few feet into the air expelling a piece of parchment that Dumbledore caught.
"The champion for Beauxbatons is Fleur Delacour," Dumbledore read in a strong voice for everyone to hear.
Fleur gracefully got to her feet as the hall applauded for her and headed for the back chamber, but not before smiling at Revan who returned it, as he had no doubts about Fleur being chosen as a champion for her school.
Draco leaned into Revan, "You must be happy that Fleur has been chosen," Draco commented clapping with everyone else.
"I certainly am yes," Revan said preparing for who else would be announced. "We both agreed we would do our best in the tournament, and that it wouldn't affect our relationship with how well we did in comparison to each other."
Draco nodded, though he was confident that Revan would beat Fleur in any of the challenges unless it was a beauty one. Then Revan would, unfortunately, lose that challenge.
Dumbledore then read out the names of the rest of the champions for the schools and to no one's surprise, Viktor Krum was picked for Durmstrang, something Karkaroff was very happy about as indicated by his shouting of Krum's name. Revan was chosen as the champion of Hogwarts to the cheers of the Slytherin stable. The other houses clapped for Revan as well, though they were disappointed someone from their house wasn't chosen to be the champion.
Revan, as he walked to the back chamber, could sense a magical connection being formed with his magic. That was something he would have to fix later, seeing how he didn't like the idea of something forming a connection with his magic without his permission.
Once the school champions had been selected, the champions for the Hidden Villages were announced. From the Mist Village Chojuro was picked. He has short blue hair and shark like teeth. He was wearing a blue pinned shirt and camouflage pattern pants. On his back, he was carrying a sword that was wrapped in bandages.
Out of the entire hall, only the Mist Genin's clapped for Chojuro, as no one wanted to clap for a village that raped women to produce soldiers. The lack of applause from the rest of the hall made Chojuro lose most of his confidence, and he meekly entered the back chamber.
For the rest of the Hidden Villages Dosu Kinuta was chosen to represent the Sound Village, Samui for the Cloud, Temari for the Sand, Shizuka for Nadenshiko, Natsumi for the Leaf in which none of the Leaf Genin's clapped for her except for a few, as they didn't want to publically support the demon, Tsuba for the Grass, Oboro for the Rain and Fu for Waterfall.
"Excellent, now that the champions have been chosen-" Dumbledore stopped speaking when the goblet flames turned red again, and it expelled another piece of parchment.
"Naruko Namikaze," Dumbledore called making the entire hall fall silent. Kakashi shot an alarmed look at Naruko who was surprised by her name being called out.
"I would head up there Naruko," Sai said without his usual fake smile. 'What's going on? I know Naruko didn't cheat her way into the tournament. She could have never kept that a secret from anyone, as she doesn't have a subtle bone in her body.'
Naruko got up and with the entire hall staring at her entered the back chamber feeling nervous. Yes, she wanted to be the Leaf's champion, but she didn't cheat her way into the tournament like many are no doubt thinking she did.
Naruko entering the back chamber saw all the champions sitting around comfortably waiting for their first instructions. She couldn't help but smile when she was the jealous looks Natsumi was shooting Fleur, who was sitting very close with Revan. In fact, they were practically in each other's laps, with how close they were sitting next to each other.
She was slightly disappointed Natsumi wasn't dating Revan as she would have greatly enjoyed stealing her boyfriend away from her and rubbing it in her face, but maybe she could steal Revan from Fleur and that way still torment the demon. She ignored the voice in the back of her mind that said Revan has no interest in her, and her plan is doomed to fail before it even begins.
"What is it? Do they need us for something?" Fleur asked upon seeing Naruko standing in the room looking a bit unsure of herself, which was vastly different from the usual arrogant body language she projected.
Naruko not sure what to say and not wanting to answer a half breed stayed silent, getting narrowed eyes from Revan for ignoring his girlfriend. Revan was wondering what Naruko was doing here when Dumbledore, McGonagall, Snape, Moody, Maxine, Karkaroff, Kakashi, Yugito, Ludo Bagman and Barty Crouch Senior entered the room.
Dumbledore ignoring the arguing on behind him approached Naruko and asked, "Naruko did you put your name into the Goblet of Fire?"
"I swear I didn't put my name into the goblet Headmaster," Naruko answered still shaken up by this turn of events.
"Like we're going to believe that," Samui said getting a glare from Naruko. "I bet the Leaf entered your name in the goblet to make yourselves look better in the tournament, to fix your current abysmal reputation."
"Samui," Yugito said silencing Samui though she didn't admonish Samui for her words, something everyone noticed. The other ninjas were looking at the Leaf ninjas in suspicion, wondering if that was the case.
"Naruko is no cheater. She wouldn't have entered her name like this, and she doesn't have the means anyway," Kakashi said trying to calm things down.
"Namikaze might not have entered her name, but that doesn't mean someone else didn't do it to achieve their goals," Revan said. Everyone picked up on that Revan was saying that someone entered Naruko's name without her knowledge to help the Leaf's objectives.
"Thank you Lord le Fey," Kakashi said not appreciating him making things worse.
"You're welcome Hatake," Revan said giving him a cold smile. "I thought I would offer the same courtesy to the Leaf that it has shown me in the past."
Kakashi wisely didn't comment on that, recognising a trap when he saw one. The other ninjas watched with interest how Revan was on bad terms with the Leaf and thought how this could benefit them, something Kakashi noticed.
Ludo clapped excitedly not noticing the tension in the room, "This is marvellous, an extra champion for the tournament."
"Bagman, someone placed Naruko's name into the goblet without her knowledge and it wasn't the Leaf," Dumbledore said. He knew that the Leaf wasn't behind this as they are currently trying to fix their reputation, and having two champions counteracts that goal. Since it only makes them look more dishonest than they already are.
"If she dies because she entered her name into the tournament, it's her own fault," Temari remarked with a cruel grin, "But if she's the slightest bit like her sister she should survive this tournament if just barely."
Temari not wanting to be on Revan's bad side after he scared Gaara, and seeing how close he was to Natsumi and the antagonistic relationship he had with the Leaf, thought it best to score points with Revan whenever she could. That way he'll be more inclined to leave them alone than carry out any threats towards them. Naruko looked made with rage at being compared to her sister, but Kakashi placed a hand on her shoulder to calm her down.
"See Natsumi, I'm not the only one who thinks you're the better sister," Revan said sharing a grin with Natsumi.
"I guess your right Revan," Natsumi said enjoying how mad her sister was becoming.
Fleur watched the two of them interact with close eyes, and from what she saw she had a feeling Natsumi might like Revan as more than just a friend. She needed to keep a closer eye on Natsumi in the future to see if she tries anything.
"Headmaster, the Hokage will need to be made aware of this development," Kakashi said.
"Yes with Naruko being entered illegally he needs to be aware of the dangers she will be facing," Dumbledore said with a nod.
Kakashi pulled out a tri pronged kunai making the ninjas in the room tense up at the sight of it. He then threw it at the floor and upon contact with the floor there was a yellow flash, and Minato was suddenly standing next to Kakashi.
'Minato,' Revan thought displeased. Looking at the man that ordered his ANBU to spy on him and seduce him, and put pressure on the ANBU to succeed in their mission which resulted in Sue getting killed.
"What's the problem Kakashi?" Minato asked looking around the room making note of everyone present and saw how close Natsumi was sitting next to Revan.
"It appears Minato that Naruko has been entered into the Triwizard tournament against her will," Dumbledore said approaching his friend.
"Is there no way for Naruko to be dropped from the tournament?" Minato asked not liking Naruko had been entered in the tournament against her will. If she had been chosen as the Leaf's champion that would have been fine, but the fact someone made sure she was entered was sending off warning bells in his head.
"Now that Miss Namikaze has been entered into the tournament, she must compete or risk losing her magic, as she is now under a binding magical contract until the tournament is over," Barty said.
Minato didn't look happy at that explanation. "So there's nothing that can be done? Naruko must compete or end up losing her life."
Dumbledore looked regretful, "I'm afraid so Minato."
"I don't like this, but there's nothing that we can do," Minato said shooting the other ninjas a suspicious look that made them uneasy. "Seeing how Natsumi is here as well, I take it she was chosen as the Leaf's champion."
"That's right sensei," Kakashi said.
"So the Leaf gets two champions then," Maxine said annoyed.
"If you have a better suggestion I'm open to hearing it Madame Maxine," Dumbledore said making Maxine remain silent as she didn't
"How do we know le Fey didn't enter my name into the tournament? Like he did with his friends for the Chunin Exams," Naruko said not believing for a second what she was saying. She only wanted to get Revan into trouble for embarrassing her in Moody's class by turning her down so brutally.
"What do you mean Naruko?" Minato asked finding it unlikely Revan would enter Naruko's name.
"What Naruko is referring to is Lord le Fey creating a gap in my age and identification line to enter his friend's names into the Chunin Exam, despite the fact they weren't old enough to compete," Dumbledore informed surprising Minato that Revan was capable of that. "However after Lord le Fey bypassed my age and identification lines I upgraded them, and so I would know if Lord le Fey had attempted the same method on the protections around the Triwizard cup as he did with the Chunin Exam goblet, which he hasn't."
Minato nodded glad to have confirmation that Revan hadn't entered Naruko's name, as that would only make things tenser between the Leaf and Revan if he had.
"I would have never entered Namikaze's name anyway," Revan said coldly not willing to take the blame for someone else's actions. "Why would I? When that would only steal the spotlight from Natsumi, who more than deserves a chance to show off her skills, and your forgetting I would never do something that would benefit the Leaf in any way, not after they got my friend killed."
Natsumi was glad Revan had confidence in her skills but she was nervous for him. Seeing how Minato was still an SS-class shinobi and she wasn't sure how he would react to Revan publically challenging him. The others in the rooms had no doubts now about Revan somehow entering Naruko's name, not when they could hear his anger at the Leaf Village. Moreover seeing how Revan isn't a killer they can't see him entering Naruko's name to murder her, and there's no way he would ever assist the Leaf by helping them show off two of their ninjas.
Minato could see Revan really didn't like him or the Leaf and so tried to fix it. "Lord le Fey what happened to your friend was tragic, but I did not order the ANBU to endanger your friend. I simply told them to keep an eye on you as your friends with Natsumi, and I wanted to get a judge of your character."
"Lord Hokage I didn't believe that when you told me that the last time, and I don't believe it now. You ordered your ANBU to spy on me and seduce me, and put pressure on them when they weren't getting results," Revan said ignoring the reactions of those that didn't know the full details of what happened.
'It seems you'll have more trouble than we originally thought kitten getting into Revan's bed,' Matatabi said grinning.
'For the last time, I'm not sleeping with a teenager,' Yugito refuted annoyed.
"Then again it does seem to be a regular occurrence with you doesn't it Lord Hokage, your ninjas doing things you didn't order them to do. What with them assassinating a public official, and infiltrating Ministry departments. This either means you're lying about your orders, or that you are incapable of controlling your own ninjas. So which is it, Lord Hokage? Are you a liar or an incompetent leader?" Revan asked darkly.
Minato didn't like the way Revan was speaking to him, but he knew there was nothing he could do about it at the moment. The ninjas from the other villages were enjoying watching Minato getting talked down like that. Since they could see the trap Minato was stuck in right now. Minato could either admit to everything exposing the truth or that he had no control over his ninjas which would damage his reputation as a Kage. They loved that Revan had trapped Minato with no way out.
"Lord le Fey please treat Minato with more respect," Dumbledore said trying to defuse the situation. "The Hokage only ordered Miss Uzuki to spy on you. He never ordered the death of Miss Li."
Minato looked startled Dumbledore would say such a thing after he had just said he had nothing to do with the spying. Dumbledore ignored the look as it was pointless in his mind to continue lying when Revan already knew the truth, and continuing denying the truth would only make things worse.
Revan looked at Dumbledore darkly. "I will never treat the man that got my friend killed with respect. The fact that you would ask such a thing just shows how little you know me."
Dumbledore got the feeling that he had just destroyed any chance of having a positive relationship with Revan for defending Minato.
"If you dislike the Leaf so much why are you friends with Natsumi?" Minato asked and it wasn't lost on anyone that he hadn't answered Revan's question.
"I was friends with Natsumi before anyone knew about my Wood Style, so I know her friendship is genuine and she isn't befriending me on your orders to learn more about me," Revan answered. "And you still haven't answered my question, Lord Hokage. Are you a liar or an incompetent leader?"
"Don't talk to my Dad like that," Naruko snapped angrily having had enough of the way Revan was talking to him. "He would never order the death of your friend."
"He's a ninja. It's in his job description to kill for money. I'm sure over his long career he's called many children because he was ordered to, so why should Sue's death be any different," Revan commented.
Naruko had no comeback for that, as she was aware that her Dad has no doubt killed many innocents over the years because he was hired to do so.
"Revan, perhaps it would be best to get back on track about Namikaze's name being entered against her will," Fleur said not liking how tense things were becoming.
"I guess your right Fleur. After all the Lord Hokage not answering my question only proved my point," Revan said enjoying how Minato was made to look like a fool.
"Someone no doubt entered Naruko's name in the hopes she would die," Moody growled appearing out of now where startling everyone except for a few.
Karkaroff scoffed, "Your paranoid Mad eye. You would believe a spoon is out to kill you if it could."
"Paranoid am I," Moody said looking at Karkaroff. "It was a skilled witch or wizard who put the girls name into the goblet."
"What makes you say that?" Minato asked his full attention on Moody, and to move past his argument with Revan.
"Because they hoodwinked a very powerful magical object," Moody said with both of his Eyes on Minato. "It would have to be a strong Confundus Charm to bamboozle the goblet into thinking there was an extra village. I'm guessing they submitted Naruko's name under another village to make sure she was picked for the tournament."
"You seem to have given this a fair bit of thought mad Eye," Karkaroff stated.
"It was once my job to think as dark wizards do Karkaroff, perhaps you remember," Moody said darkly.
"Alastor," Dumbledore warned.
"Moody might be onto something. It would make sense that a Death Eater would enter Namikaze's name to finish Voldemort's work," Revan said ignoring the flinches from Voldemort's name.
"You dare suggest I was the one to enter the girl's name," Karkaroff exclaimed angrily drawing his wand on Revan but froze as did many in the room when they felt a pressure descend on them, freezing them in their place.
Those that weren't affected which were Revan and Minato and partially Kakashi looked towards Dumbledore who had a hardened look on his face.
'That is the true face of Dumbledore, the man who defeated Grindelwald and the only man Voldemort feared,' Revan thought and he could see why. Dumbledore's magic was very impressive. If he ever crossed Dumbledore he would have to be careful as from his magic alone he could tell he would be a very dangerous opponent.
Everyone in the room was giving Dumbledore startled or fearful looks. The ninjas, in particular, were revaluating Dumbledore. Having originally thought he was a harmless old man but not anymore. Minato shot Dumbledore an astonished look having never seen him flare his magic in such away before. Its times like this he is reminded why Dumbledore is so respected and feared throughout the world.
'So this is the man who defeated Grindelwald then. He is as impressive as the stories say,' Krum thought struggling to stand under the pressure of Dumbledore's magic.
"Karkaroff you will never pull your wand on one of my students again. Am I understood?" Dumbledore said looking intently at Karkaroff.
"Y-yes Dumbledore," Karkaroff stuttered scared of the man before him. How did he forget Dumbledore was a man to be feared?
"I want to make things clear to all of you, harming of any students will not be tolerated while you are staying in Hogwarts. I hope that is clear to you all," Dumbledore said firmly looking many people in the eyes before landing on Minato. Who got the message Dumbledore wouldn't allow what happened with the ANBU to repeat itself. Minato nodded showing he understood. Not that he had any attention of spying on Revan anytime soon. Not after the disaster, the last attempt was.
"Splendid," Dumbledore said with a smile acting like an eccentric grandfather again, and stopping the flaring of his magic.
'That old bastard has lost none of his power over the years,' Moody thought wiping away the sweat from his brow caused by Dumbledore's magic.
"What can you tell us about the first task of the tournament?" Minato asked Ludo wanting to move things along while keeping a wary eye on Dumbledore with Kakashi doing the same.
"Yes, the first task will take place on November the twenty fourth in front of other students, and a panel of judges. The task will test your daring and resolve, so be prepared for anything," Ludo informed excitedly.
"Until then prepare the best you can for the first task, and we'll see you again come November," Barty said sweating heavily.
After that everyone left with Naruko returning to her quarters with Kakashi to talk with the other Leaf ninjas, whilst Minato headed to the Headmasters office with Dumbledore to talk about a few things. Revan once he had said his goodbyes to Fleur and Natsumi travelled back home as he was quite eager to call upon spirits from the spirit world like he did last year.
Headmaster's office
"You think there's a plot against my daughter," Lily said looking worried.
Minato upon arriving in the Headmasters office went and retrieved Lily from the Leaf as this was a discussion that involved their daughter, and so it was only right she be involved as well.
"I do yes. Who is orchestrating this plot is unclear at this time, but someone deliberately entered Naruko's name into the goblet for some purpose," Dumbledore said sitting behind his desk.
"And you two are positive le Fey isn't behind this?" Lily asked.
Dumbledore shook his head. "Le Fey would have never entered Naruko's name into the goblet if it meant increasing the odds of the Leaf winning the tournament."
"Le Fey could have decided the village having a better chance of winning the tournament would be worth it if it meant endangering my daughter," Lily suggested. She didn't think Revan would ever harm her daughter. Not when he was friends with Natsumi, and with how Natsumi treats Naruko like a sister. She couldn't see Revan wanting to hurt Natsumi by endangering her sister like that. But the suggestion still needed to be made.
"No le Fey didn't do this Lily since it doesn't match up with what I know about his personality from the reports I've read about him. If he wanted to hurt Naruko he would do it himself, not rely on the tournament to do it for him," Minato said.
If Revan wanted to punish someone he would ambush them himself like he did with Eris, and he doesn't kill unless in self defence which entering Naruko's name isn't. Yes he wiped out an army of Snow ninjas but they attacked first, Revan didn't seek them out. He was just glad that Revan being friends with Natsumi means the village has another layer of protection against Revan, as he won't move against the home of his friend.
Lily huffed. "Fine it's not le Fey, but another village could have entered Naruko's name to hurt or embarrass her."
"The one responsible for entering Naruko's name might not be a ninja at all, but a wizard," Dumbledore informed.
"What do you mean Headmaster?" Lily asked with trepidation, not liking what Dumbledore was implying.
"Voldemort is on the rise."
There was a stunned silence in the office with Lily feeling scared as she remembered the few times she encountered that monster, and it was a terrifying experience for her. Minato was feeling wary as he knew how dangerous of an opponent Voldemort truly was.
"Voldemort is dead," Minato commented not wanting to face that monster in a fight again. He would win, but it would be an extremely dangerous fight.
"I don't believe Voldemort ever died that night and has in fact been living as a wrath ever since, but over this summer his power has been increasing, and from what Severus tells me the Dark mark grows slowly stronger all the time," Dumbledore said.
"You think this might be a plot of Voldemort's to finish what he started all those years ago," Minato said controlling his anger at his daughter being in danger.
"It's a possibility, but then again Voldemort might not have anything to do with Naruko's name being entered, and someone else is entirely responsible," Dumbledore said.
"There are too many suspects," Minato groaned annoyed. "We'll have to play along for the moment, and see if they reveal their hand during the tournament."
"There's nothing else we can do dear," Lily said reassuringly stroking her husband's arm. "Is there anything else you want to talk about Headmaster?"
"Just one more thing, I do believe I know how your daughter can speak Parseltounge."
Le Fey House
"Let me get this straight," Scathach said in the back garden with Revan and Morgana. "You're going to summon the spirit of your sister from the afterlife, and you want me to meet her."
"That is correct yes," Revan stated lighting seven candles with a wave of his hand. "I know it sounds unbelievable, but I'm not lying about summoning spirits."
Morgana watched silently not agreeing with her son telling Scathach what he was capable of. Yes, Scathach already knew he was a demigod meaning he wasn't revealing much, but it was still better to keep as many of his abilities under wrap as possible. She supposed Revan willingly telling Scathach this information will make them closer. Making the chances of Scathach betraying Revan in the future decrease.
"I'm aware you're not lying, but I had no idea a demigod was capable of such a thing," Scathach admitted. She knew while Revan kept secrets he wasn't the type to lie, especially about something like this. "I guess if you can summon the spirits of the dead, your Father must be a God of Death then." Scathach then gained a confused look on her face. "Wait I thought the Old Religion was comprised of only three Goddesses."
"It is," Revan admitted knowing he was going to have to explain his origins.
"Then how are you standing before me? If there were no male Gods how could Morgana possibly get pregnant with you?" Scathach inquired. She couldn't believe this never occurred to her before today.
'Her intelligence is definitely increasing. Given that she would have never thought of that before a month ago,' Revan thought. With Scathach's trauma slowly getting better, she can think more clearly now. That is why she's now realising the holes in the story he told her about being a demigod.
"Rhiannon is my Godly parent," Revan confessed. "She approached my Mother with a deal to restore the power of the Old Religion, and my Mother agreed. All three of the Triple Goddesses then combined their essences, and placed it in my Mother making her pregnant with me."
Scathach looked surprised and impressed, "I don't think I've ever heard of Gods doing something like that before."
"To my knowledge, I'm the only demigod born like that," Revan admitted.
"That's how you can summon the spirit of the dead then. You have powers from your entire pantheon," Scathach said imagining how powerful Revan truly is with, so many abilities at his disposal.
"And having so many abilities comes in handy for when you want to speak to a dead sibling," Revan said. The ability to summon spirits his favourite ability, since it lets him communicate with Stephanie.
"Wait! Did the Triple Goddesses equally mix their essences together before placing it inside of Morgana?" Scathach questioned glancing at Morgana's stomach.
"I know what you're thinking," Morgana said smiling at the absurd thought Scathach is no doubt thinking, "And no they didn't provide an equal amount of their essences. Rhiannon provided more of her essence than her sisters, seeing that she was the one intending to be the Mother of Revan."
"So no Scathach, that doesn't mean I have four Mothers in total," Revan said smiling at Scathach's embarrassment for thinking something so absurd.
Scathach crossed her arms defensively, "You can't blame me for thinking that. I've never heard of anyone being born like you have before."
"It's perfectly reasonable to think so upon hearing of my origins," Revan said reassuringly. "It's nothing to be embarrassed about."
"Well normal for children to think so. Not adults," Morgana commented getting a glare from Scathach.
"I'm beginning," Revan said cutting of another one of their arguments, and began to chant in Gaelic.
Hear these words,
Hear my cry,
Spirit from the other side,
Come to me,
I summon thee,
Cross now the great divide.
Scathach watched astonished as a spirit appeared inside of the circle, looking very different from any type of spirit she had seen before.
Stephanie smiled upon seeing her big brother, "Revan."
"Stephanie," Revan greeted entering the circle and giving her a hug.
Scathach watched as Revan embraced his sister and couldn't help, but smile at the tender moment between them. It was soon ruined when Revan spun Stephanie around planting kisses on her forehead, while Stephanie protested and tried to free herself. When Revan finally put Stephanie down and exited the circle, Scathach got a better look at Revan's adopted sister.
'For someone who was murdered at a young age, she's holding herself together pretty well,' Scathach noted thinking to herself if being a sprit had something to do with it. She was pulled out of her thoughts when Revan called her name and saw how Morgana had just finished saying hello to Stephanie.
"Stephanie I would like you to meet my friend Scathach," Revan said motioning towards Scathach who was now standing next to him. "Scathach this is my little sister Stephanie."
"I'm not little," Stephanie protested shooting Revan a glare that only made her look cute before facing Scathach. "You're very pretty," Stephanie said amazed before looking embarrassed at what she just said.
"Thank you," Scathach said kindly not wanting to embarrass the child.
"You have red eyes," Stephanie noted with a tone of awe in her voice.
Scathach smiled. "Yes, my parents said it was a blessing from the gods themselves."
"There are very pretty, still Revan's eyes are the best," Stephanie said eagerly.
Revan chuckled and turned to Scathach, "Her favourite colour is silver because it matches my eyes."
"What! That's not true," Stephanie protested waving her arms around.
Scathach chuckling slowly moved away from the siblings and stood by Morgana to allow them to catch up without any distractions.
"My son must trust you a great deal for him to show you what he is truly capable of," Morgana said quietly so Revan and Stephanie wouldn't hear her. The truth is no one would believe Scathach if she told anyone what she saw tonight, but she doesn't need to know that. Then again Revan must trust her a bit, for him to show her this.
"I am grateful for his trust," Scathach replied quietly glad Revan and her are getting closer. "Will Revan be summoning anyone else tonight?"
"My sister Morgause and his friend Sue Li. Revan doesn't have anyone else that he was close with that has died," Morgana answered. She was thinking of summoning Merlin again to torture him but decided against it. Let Merlin think for the rest of eternity that he has failed in everything he set out to accomplish. That was a fitting punishment in her mind.
"No else from Camelot you wish to summon, like King Arthur," Scathach said, and she still couldn't believe King Arthur was actually a woman.
"While I don't like Arturia, I don't hate her enough to summon her spirit just to mock her," Morgana revealed. Her feelings for Arturia were nowhere as hateful as they were for Merlin. "Plus Revan only summons spirits he wants to ridicule if he has enough time. Since his first opportunity is always spending time with family first before Samhain is over."
Scathach nodded. "I understand. I would do exactly the same."
"You have a girlfriend," Stephanie said surprised before squealing in happiness. "You have to tell me what's she's like."
Revan chuckled at Stephanie's eagerness. "Calm down, I'll tell you everything."
Scathach watched as Revan told Stephanie everything he had been doing since he last saw her. She even teased Revan about the modified story he told Stephanie about how he met her since their meeting wasn't exactly appropriate for children. Revan a short time later was happily talking to Stephanie about what he and his friends had been up to when he saw her start grimacing in pain.
"It's time for you to go back to the spirit world Stephanie," Revan stated sadly.
Stephanie looked upset, "I don't want to go."
"You have to," Revan said entering the circle and giving her a hug. "You can only stay on this plane of existence for so long before you start feeling pain."
"Fine," Stephanie said trying to act brave,
"Goodbye, my little trouble maker of a sister," Revan said teasingly.
"Goodbye big brother," Stephanie said smiling at him before vanishing.
Scathach seeing how sad Revan looked stepped forward and rested a hand on his shoulder. "She's gone to rest in peace."
"Yes she has, but that doesn't mean I like it when she leaves," Revan said having noticed their time together was much shorter than last year. If that was a sign of things to come, that meant each time he summons Stephanie their time together will be much shorter.
"You'll see her again next year, and someone with eyes so beautiful they glow in the dark shouldn't be upset," Scathach said grinning making Revan glare at her.
"I can't believe you heard Stephanie say that," Revan commented.
"I heard a lot of things Mr tea party man," Scathach said chuckling.
Revan groaned slightly, "I so regret inviting you to this now."
Scathach wrapped an arm around Revan and grinned at him. "No, you don't."
Morgana cleared her throat to gain their attention. "I believe you're about to summon my sister now my son."
"Of course Mother," Revan said removing Scathach's arm and summoned Morgause's spirit.
Morgause was surprised to encounter Scathach from the legends but seemed to approve of her nephew learning from such a powerful warrior.
"That's all my family members done," Revan stated upon sending Morgause's spirit back to the spirit world. It was nice telling his Aunt everything he had gotten up to during the past year, and just like with Stephanie, her time in this world was shorter than last year.
"Are you ready to summon Sue?" Morgana questioned knowing how big of a deal this was going to be for her son.
"No, but it's not like I'll have another chance to summon her anytime soon. Therefore right now will have to do," Revan answered beginning the chant to summon Sue's sprit.
'So this is Revan's friend that was murdered then,' Scathach thought watching as Sue looked around in shock before her eyes landed on Revan.
"Revan what's going on? And why am I a spirit?" Sue demanded instinctively knowing she was a sprit, and that she was dead.
"I've summoned your spirit from beyond the grave, so I could apologise for getting you killed," Revan said.
Sue looked confused. "Y-you... can't summon spirits from the afterlife, there's no magic that can do that."
"No magic that is known can summon spirits," Revan commented serenely trying to calm Sue down. "I, on the other hand, know more magic than most people in the world, and so was able to summon your spirit to this plane."
"This is so confusing," Sue noted.
"You'll get used to it," Revan said smiling. "I checked up on your family over the summer, and you will be pleased to know that while your family is sad, they are coping with your death as best as they can."
He didn't mention to Sue that her Father didn't handle her death well. Since he wanted Sue to rest in peace when she returned to the spirit world. Not return to the spirit world having any worries about how her family was coping with her death.
Sue sighed in relief. "I'm glad to hear that, and thank you for checking up on my family."
"You are my friend it was the least I could do. Especially after I'm partly responsible for your death," Revan said regretfully.
"What do you mean you were partly responsible for my death? Lupin was the one to kill me. You had nothing to do with that," Sue pointed out.
"I have so much to tell you," Revan said before telling Sue the truth about why the Gryffindor's had taken her to the Whomping Willow, and how he killed the ANBU, Lupin and Sirius Black afterwards.
Sue was not sure how to feel about her death, "I died so the ANBU could learn more secrets about you,"
"Lupin wasn't part of their plan, but yes they wanted to hurt you to see what else I was hiding," Revan confirmed.
"Those assholes," Sue roared angrily shocking Revan that she was actually swearing. Sue was usually so polite, but I guess getting killed changes you.
"I never presumed I would get killed for being your friend," Sue said making Revan flinch and Morgana and Scathach narrow their eyes at Sue. Not liking the way she was talking to Revan.
Revan looked remorseful, "Neither did I."
"While I know you didn't have anything to do with my death, and you even saved me from those Gryffindor's. I'm still dead because of you," Sue said part angry and part regretful she was saying this.
Revan sighed sadly. "I know, and I will never forgive myself for your death."
'You're the one that approached my son to befriend him. What did you think was going to happen being friends with someone that many people want to control? You stupid peasant,' Morgana thought scornfully. She didn't want Revan to feel even worse from Sue's death then he was already feeling.
"I'm willing to forgive you for your part in my death if you keep an eye on my family for me," Sue said.
Scathach having had enough of this conversation stepped forward and said, "Revan is not responsible for your death."
"Who are you?" Sue inquired blinking in shock at another person randomly appearing.
"I'm Scathach Revan's teacher," Scathach said regally, acting like the warrior Queen she is. "Yes, you were targeted because you were Revan's friend. But you were the one to befriend him. There's no reason to guilt trip Revan into feeling terrible when he did his best to save you."
Sue looked dejected having that pointed out. "I know that, but I will never see my family because I was murdered. All I want is to make sure they're safe, and if Revan does that then that will be enough for me."
"You have nothing to fear. I will keep an eye on your family for you," Revan said appreciating Scathach standing up for him, but he'll settle things between Sue and him by himself.
"Thank you," Sue said appreciatively.
"By the way Sue, how come you never told me you had a crush on me?" Revan asked enjoying Sue looking mortified.
Sue rubbed her arms nervously. "I didn't think you would be interested in me, and I thought before I die I would confess my feelings for you. That way I wouldn't die with any regrets."
"Sorry, you had to confess like that. It wasn't until I told my friends about the kiss that they told me you had a crush on me for a while," Revan commented.
"I thought I was being discreet," Sue said dropping her head into her hands out of embarrassment.
Revan gave her a soft smile, "Not really."
Scathach watched as Revan and Sue talked but she could feel the distance between the two of them now, due to the fact that Sue tried guilt tripping Revan into looking after her family. She could understand asking Revan to look after her family, but guilt tripping wasn't the way to go about it especially between friends.
From this talk, she knew Revan's memories of Sue will always be slightly tainted now that his last conversation with Sue would be of her trying to trick him. It would have been better to have never talked to Sue, since that way he could have kept his good memories of her, and not have their friendship ruined by their last conversation.
Revan whilst talking to Sue sensed for only a split second before it vanished from his senses a spirit nearby. His body language never changed keeping it regal as to not attract any attention while he stretched his senses as far as possible, but he never sensed the spirit again. What grabbed his attention about this spirit was that he could tell it wasn't a ghost. As for the split second, he sensed the spirit all he could feel was an all encompassing feeling of death. Something no ghost is capable of generating.
The feeling of death he had sensed was nearly on par with the gates of the spirit world he had summoned earlier this year. Whatever he had sensed he would keep an eye out for it since he had no way of tracking down something that could vanish from his senses. Plus he also wanted to know what sort of spirit could generate such a strong feeling of death.
"Before I go Revan I have one question for you," Sue said bashfully once she had finished talking about her family to Revan.
"What is it?" Revan asked certain it involves her feelings for him.
Sue took a deep breath and asked, "If I had asked you out would you have said yes?"
"I only saw you as a friend at the time, but there was always the possibility that something could have happened between us," Revan said not mentioning he would have never dated her now after she tried guilt tripping him.
"Thank you for being honest," Sue said. It wasn't the answer she was after but at least it was truthful, and she now knew where she stood with Revan.
"Goodbye Sue," Revan said softly.
"See you Revan," Sue stated upset and disappearing before Revan's eyes.
"You gift is a blessing and a curse my son," Morgana said giving Revan a hug. "It allows you to make peace with loved ones, but can also show us the ugly side of a person if they didn't die peacefully, and hold resentment in their hearts."
"I knew Sue would be upset and maybe hold some anger towards me, but I didn't think she would try and guilt trip me into looking after her family," Revan said unhappily as his friendship with Sue will always be tainted by the way their last conversation went. Given that he can't see himself ever summoning Sue again after today.
"You did nothing wrong Revan," Scathach said as Revan ended the hug and faced her. "She was a civilian who ignored the obvious dangers of being around you. If anyone is to blame for her being dead it's herself. A true warrior would have never blamed you for their death, not after you did your best to save them. It would be dishonourable to do so.
"However like most civilians, she chose an easy target to blame, and that, unfortunately, turned out to be you, since she had no other targets to direct her emotions towards. So don't take Sue's word to heart Revan. It was her grief speaking. You did your best, and that's all anybody can ask of you," Scathach said firmly. She had been in Revan's position before, and therefore knows what to say to help him deal with this.
"I needed to hear that, thank you Scathach," Revan said giving her a small smile as thanks. Even Morgana was grateful, not that she would ever admit it.
"It was my pleasure. It is the responsibility of the teacher, after all, to help their student with whatever they're going through," Scathach said.
"And it is the student's destiny to surpass their teacher," Revan said with a small grin. "No matter how far off that day is."
Scathach chuckled, "The day you defeat me in a hand to hand spar is far off."
"I'm sure with your teachings I'll get their sooner than later," Revan praised making Scathach smile at the faith Revan had in her. It was a nice feeling.
"Are you going to summon anyone else? Or is that it for the night?" Scathach inquired.
"No there's no one else I want to summon. What about you Scathach? Is there anyone you want me to summon for you?" Revan asked surprising Scathach.
"You would summon a spirit just for me," Scathach said astonished.
"While we're not friends just yet, I do trust and care for you, and so I don't mind summoning someone for you if that is what you wish," Revan said.
Scathach thought long and hard about this before coming to her decision. "I appreciate the offer Revan, I truly do, but I'm going to have to turn it down."
"May I ask why?" Revan asked gently.
"The people I cared about were all warriors, and I know they met their ends believing in what they were doing, and therefore would have very few regrets when they died. I made peace with this a very long time ago. And I would rather not open old wounds that have finally healed just to talk to those I cared about for a short time," Scathach answered.
It's been nearly two thousand years since all of her loved ones and friends had died, and she would rather not disturb their rest for selfish reasons. She made peace with their passing a long time ago, it was best just to let things go and move on. She would think of them but she wouldn't let her past define her. Not when in this brand new world she had so many opportunists to choose from for her future.
"I will respect your wishes then," Revan confirmed. He supposed when you're nearly two thousand years old, you've moved on from the passing of any loved ones and have come to terms with it.
"Come on let's head inside. No point staying out here in the cold anymore more," Morgana said ushering Revan and Scathach inside, and at the same time flicking her finger to vanish the candles.
"I have some good news to tell you by the way Revan," Scathach said once they were sitting down, and having some hot chocolate.
Revan looked at Scathach curiously while sipping his drink, "And what news is that?"
"I've decided to become a dark wizard hunter," Scathach announced looking excited.
"That's wonderful to hear," Revan praised happy for her. "What made you decide to become a dark wizard hunter instead of a bounty hunter?"
Scathach leaned back in her seat still sitting like a warrior. "Becoming a bounty hunter meant travelling abroad to the Elemental Nations, and I had no desire to do such a thing. That left being a dark wizard hunter as my only option, and with my skills, such a job should be easy for me."
"I'm sure you'll be the best dark wizard catcher in the country," Revan said and Scathach could tell Revan truly meant it. He wasn't just complimenting her.
"I can't let you surpass me in reputation can I. After all I have no desire to see you become the teacher anytime soon," Scathach said teasingly.
Revan grinned slightly, "The young always surpasses the old."
Morgan interrupted before Scathach could reply. "As much fun as it is to listen to you point out Scathach's old age, how did the champion selection go?"
Revan knowing this would be a long discussion turned serious and told them everything that took place earlier.
"I see," Morgana commented thoughtfully, her mind quickly analysing everything her son had told her.
"Any idea on who could have entered Naruko's name into the goblet?" Scathach asked knowing someone was playing a game with Naruko's life for whatever purpose.
"I have no idea. There are too many suspects. All anyone can do is wait, and hope whoever entered Namikaze's reveals themselves in the future. Not that I care that Namikaze's life is in danger," Revan said dismissively. He had an idea of who is responsible for entering Naruko's name, but he wasn't going to tell Scathach that.
Scathach raised an eyebrow questioningly. "You don't care if Naruko is hurt in this tournament?"
"Not in the least," Revan answered firmly. "Why would why I? When Namikaze treats Natsumi so poorly."
"So because Naruko treats her sister so poorly, you don't care what happens to her?" Scathach asked for clarification.
"That's right," Revan confirmed. "You treat my friends poorly, and I'm not going to care what happens to you."
"Can't argue with that mentality, particularly when I'm the same," Scathach said having no problem with Revan's lack of care. If Naruko dies she's not going to shed a tear. It's not like their friends or anything, so why should she care if some random person dies or not.
"Seeing how late it is and the fact my son has school in the morning, I think it's time we end this meeting," Morgana announced rising from her seat.
"It is after midnight, so I suppose your right Mother," Revan commented.
"I always am," Morgana said smiling.
"I'll see you tomorrow then Revan for your next lesson," Scathach said heading to Revan's room, as she slept in his bed when he wasn't using it.
"I'm looking forward to it," Revan commented as Scathach vanished from view. Revan knowing what his Mother wanted followed her to the study for a private chat. Seeing how they could speak of things in their Scathach couldn't know about.
"How likely do you think Voldemort is behind this plot involving Naruko?" Morgana asked bluntly once they had sat down.
"I think the chances are very high Voldemort is the one responsible, but that doesn't mean we can dismiss the possibility someone else is responsible for yesterday's event," Revan said.
Morgana nodded having already considered that, "You are right my son, someone else could be behind this. We are currently lacking enough information to truly guess who is accountable. It could be a shinobi or Voldemort making a move, though that would be difficult unless he gathered some followers in his wraith form or has regained a body somehow."
"If it is Voldemort what is he planning with Namikaze? Is it simple revenge for her defeating him all those years ago or is there more, I can only guess what the motives of whoever entered her name are," Revan speculated.
"There's nothing we can do and even if we find out what the persons goals are, I'm not inclined to interfere. They're not targeting us, and I care nothing for the life of a complete stranger," Morgana said uncaringly.
"I agree. If Namikaze dies in this plot I won't care."
Morgana in her mind smiled at how uncaring Revan was about Naruko's life. When she makes him even more ruthless, he'll be the perfect wizard.
"During the ritual tonight Mother I sensed a spirit that gave of a feeling of death that was nearly on par with the gate of the spirit world," Revan revealed.
"And you think this spirit was watching us," Morgana said her mind abuzz trying to think what this could mean.
"I only sensed the sprit for a split second before it was gone, but yes I think it was observing us," Revan confirmed.
"If it can hide from your senses then it's currently pointless to look for it. For the time being, we'll need to keep an eye out for anything suspicious until we can learn more about this spirit, and what its goals are," Morgana ordered.
Revan nodded seriously, "I understand Mother."
"Good, that's all I needed to talk to you about, so it's time you headed to bed," Morgana said before gaining an annoyed expression on her face. "In the meantime I need to prepare letters for my contacts in the Ministry, to make sure Scathach become a dark wizard hunter like she desires."
Revan chuckled, "Good luck with that," Revan said before shadow travelling back to his room.
"Brat," Morgana commented without any venom in her voice.
Revan was sitting on his bed with the curtains drawn and a Silencing Charms up so no one would hear him or disturb him. Focusing on his magic he found the connection between him and the goblet of fire, and using his will he severed the connection. Revan blinked in slight shock when nothing happened. He thought severing a magical connection would result in an unpleasant feeling, but nothing like that took place.
He guessed being a creature made out of pure magic had its advantages, and this was one of them. If he had time in the future he might look into severing magical contracts. It might be a useful ability to have in the future.
Revan making sure to not wake his classmates opened his trunk and retrieved the Marauders Map. Using the map he observed the ninjas sleeping in their quarters as he wanted to keep an eye on them, and to see if anyone would be out and about at this time. Since it would be suspicious for one to be sneaking about after what took place during the champion selection.
Revan after looking at the ninjas observed the corridors but only found Filch checking for students out of bounds. Passing the Defence Against the Dark Arts classroom he saw Moody and Crouch in the same room. That was a surprise to see. He presumed Moody was talking to Crouch about the security of the tournament or something like that. Not giving it another thought he moved on but didn't see anyone else on the map that would gain his attention.
He was about to put the map away when a thought occurred to him. Summoning a Shadowkahn next to his bed he saw how footsteps appeared on the map but no name. Since the Shadowkahn didn't have one. For that reason, Shadowkahn were invisible to the map when they were hiding in the shadows, but when they emerged they were visible on the map. That was interesting to know. Dismissing the Shadowkahn Revan put away the map and went to bed having a pleasant dream about Fleur, and what they got up to in the bath earlier.
A week later Revan was currently sparing against Natsumi, and he had made sure they were no spies this time. He couldn't help but smile at Natsumi's grin on her face as he blocked her kick, knowing why she was grinning so much.
The reaction to Naruko being the Leaf's second champion was met with mostly negative reception. Most thought Naruko had cheated her way into the exam and weren't happy that the Leaf had an advantage over the other schools and villages. It was a shock to Naruko to see the people that had only yesterday been kissing up towards her, now greeting her neutrally or coldly.
All her life she had experienced people treating her like she was a hero for killing Voldemort, now they were treating her like she was a demon and she didn't like it. Natsumi told him how Kakashi took Naruko to the side and told her she would have to deal with it, and there was nothing she could do about it. Naruko wasn't happy but she grudgingly nodded and tried her best to ignore the way people were treating her now.
Natsumi was enjoying the entire thing. She thought it was only fair after all the years Naruko had treated her terribly, that she experiences what it's like to be disliked by most people for something beyond your control. In Natsumi's mind, it was karma coming to deliver something that Naruko had been deserving of for a long time.
Naruko's treatment wasn't even the biggest thing to happen this week for him. It was the extra Shadowkahn he had dispatched to the Leaf discovering Danzo's base. With Danzo moving the ROOT base so often it made it difficult for the Shadowkahn to find it, but they eventually succeeded. Now for the foreseeable future if Danzo makes another move on Britain he will know about it and can put a stop to it.
"You know if you grin anymore more your mouth is going to get stuck like that," Revan commented mischievously trying to sweep Natsumi's legs out from underneath her, but she backflipped out of the way.
"I can't help it," Natsumi admitted throwing shurikens at Revan who used his magic to change their direction. "Naruko is finally experiencing what it is like to live like me, and I'm enjoying every second of it."
"I don't blame you. In fact, I would do exactly the same in your position," Revan admitted before rushing towards Natsumi and with a kick knocked her to the ground, and pointed his wand at her throat.
"My win," Revan stated smiling.
Natsumi huffed. "Fine, you win this time."
"That was a good spar," Revan complimented while helping Natsumi stand up.
"You weren't bad yourself," Natsumi said getting a raised eyebrow from Revan.
"I've been meaning to ask, but what handed with your old team?" Revan asked kindly not wanting to overstep his boundaries.
"Come on let's get comfortable, it's a long story," Natsumi said with a sigh and walked towards the nearby trees to sit on the grass for a more comfortable spot. "Can you make sure no one listens in on what I'm about to tell you?"
"No problem," Revan said waving his wand and putting up a Silencing Charm.
Natsumi feeling a bit hot from all that sparing took off her jacket revealing her black top that hugged her large breasts. Something Revan couldn't help but glance at, which didn't go unnoticed by Natsumi.
'He might be currently off the market but that doesn't mean I can't enjoy the attention he pays to my body,' Natsumi thought enjoying the ego boost she got from her crush finding her attractive, even if he would never act on it.
"It was a year ago that Team seven and I were assigned a mission to protect a noble's daughter on her way to her wedding. While we were on the way to the client we encountered missing-nin that wanted Kakashi's bounty," Natsumi said rolling her eyes at the stupidity of the missing-nin, and Revan couldn't help but agree with her. Kakashi was a high A-rank class ninja, borderline S-class. There was no way he was going to be taken down that easily.
"Anyway during the fight, Sasuke and I were cut off from our team. It was the two of us against two rogue ninjas, and the fight was going in our favour," Natsumi said taking a deep breath before continuing. "However during the fight, Sasuke was unable to evade his opponent's attacks in time so he grabbed me catching me off guard, and used me as a human shield to block the attack," Natsumi explained angrily.
"He did what," Revan hissed furiously.
"Calm down Revan I'm fine now," Natsumi said grabbing Revan's hand to calm him down since she didn't want him to cause a scene.
Revan took several deep breaths to get his anger back under control. He couldn't believe Sasuke would do such a thing. From his knowledge, the Leaf Village was all about teamwork, and the will of fire. He guessed that was another lie sprouted by hypocritical ninjas.
"I'm fine. I just wish you didn't have to experience that," Revan said now calm.
"Me too," Natsumi said sadly rubbing her fingers over Revan's hand.
"What happened next?"
Natsumi took a deep breath before continuing, "I was badly injured from the attack not that Sasuke cared. He carried on attacking our opponents leaving me completely defenceless. Before one of the rouge ninjas could finish me off Kakashi arrived, and he was the maddest I had ever seen him. He easily tore his way through our enemies, and once they were dead he gently grabbed me and retreated to a safe area to provide medical assistance.
"Because of my healing factor from the Nine Tails, it only took a day and a bit for me to recover from my injuries-"
'You're welcome brat,' the Nine Tails huffed which Natsumi ignored.
"-and once I was fully recovered I told Kakashi what Sasuke did. Sakura the absolute waste of a fangirl denied her precious Sasuke would ever do such a thing, but Kakashi eventually got the truth out of Sasuke. My teammates couldn't believe Sasuke would do such a thing. And do you know what Sasuke said to explain his actions?
Revan stayed silent knowing that question was rhetorical.
"He said an Uchiha like himself couldn't afford to die here when he still had to avenge his clan, and so saw nothing wrong with sacrificing a demon to make sure he would stay alive," Natsumi spat out angrily. With Revan this time being the one to calm someone down.
He knew Sasuke was full of himself, but he never imagined it was to this extent. He'll have to keep an eye on Sasuke, in case he tries anything with someone he cares about during the tournament.
"Sasuke was never pleasant to be around don't get me wrong, but I never thought he would use me as a human shield because he didn't see me as a human," Natsumi said bitterly with Revan pulling her into a hug to offer comfort.
"Kakashi was beyond furious with Sasuke's reasoning and cancelled the mission saying he couldn't trust his subordinates to act according to his wishes. We then headed back to the village," Natsumi then smiled cruelly not that Revan could see it as Natsumi refused to end the hug. "When we returned to the village and registered with the eternal Chunin guards Kakashi then brutally beat up Sasuke breaking some of his bones."
Revan laughed darkly his respect for Kakashi going up, "He really did that?"
"He did. It was one of the greatest things I have ever seen," Natsumi said laughing alongside Revan subtly pressing her body closer to his. "The guards were shocked by Kakashi's action as were my teammates, whilst I was cheering him on as he was beating up Sasuke. Eventually, some ANBU arrived to see what the fuss was about, and upon seeing the last Uchiha getting beaten up they tried to interfere before a single glare from Kakashi froze them in their tracks. They weren't going to mess Kakashi, not when he could beat them with one hand tied behind his back.
"Kakashi once he was done beating up Sasuke grabbed one of Sasuke's broken legs and dragged him across the village towards the hospital." Revan grinned at that. "There was no way I was going to miss this so I followed Kakashi along with my teammates. Sasuke at first made threats at Kakashi saying he couldn't do this to him, but it eventually became begging as he couldn't handle the pain, but the entire time Kakashi just ignored him.
"Anyone that tired to help Sasuke was scared away by Kakashi's glare," Natsumi said with a chuckle. "It was funny to watch grown men running away like the devil was after them. When Kakashi finally arrived at the hospital he roughly threw Sasuke onto a stretcher and ordered a nurse to make sure Sasuke received treatment last. The nurse went to protest as Sasuke was the last Uchiha, but a glare from Kakashi convinced the entire hospital staff to not treat Sasuke anytime soon.
"Kakashi then dismissed us as he went to visit Minato to explain what happened," Natsumi said laughing finally ending the hug, and missing Revan's warmth.
"I think Hatake is one of my favourite people of all time now," Revan admitted. How could he not like someone that would go so far for Natsumi? He knew Kakashi cared for Natsumi but he never expected him to defend her so much, and to punish the one responsible as well. He really did feel grateful towards Kakashi for his actions and was happy Natsumi had people to care for her.
"Mine as well," Natsumi said smiling. "I will saviour the expression on Sasuke's face as he was manhandled like a child for the rest of my days."
"I take it Hatake got into a lot of trouble for his treatment of the Uchiha then," Revan said noting Natsumi still hadn't let go of his hand but felt with what she just told him it wouldn't be the best time to free his hand just yet.
"Not as much as you would think. Minato admonished Kakashi for his treatment of Sasuke, but that was all he did. Sasuke using me as a human shield practically destroyed any respect the shinobi forces had for him. Of course, the village wasn't bothered he used me as a human shield since I'm just a demon," Natsumi said with a bitter and angry expression, "But they were worried about what's going to stop Sasuke from using someone else a human shield because he seems them beneath him.
"With an uproar from the shinobi forces, Minato was forced to remove Sasuke from Team Seven, though he couldn't have Sasuke's ninja licence revoked as the civilian council blocked that, since they still worship the ground he walks on. I also made Minato remove me from Team Seven as I no longer felt comfortable on the team where my teammates didn't care that I had almost died. Minato at first didn't want to, but unless he reassigned me I would make a bigger issue out of Sasuke using me as a human shield, therefore creating more work for him."
Revan smiled eagerly, "Good for you. Causing him as much trouble as possible," Revan said making Natsumi smile in glee.
"Anyway Minato eventually agreed, and I was assigned to Anko as an apprentice since no one else would take the demon as a student," Natsumi said resentfully with Revan squeezing her hand as a sign of support. "Sadly despite everything Sasuke has done he was still sent to compete in this tournament, as the village couldn't pass up the chance to show off the last Uchiha."
Revan didn't like where this was going, "If the Uchiha has no sensei and teammates, whose team is he going to join for the Chunin Exams?"
Natsumi looked resigned and angry, "My team of course," Natsumi said dejectedly.
"After everything he did to you, the Hokage is still going to force you to work with that piece of scum!" Revan exclaimed with a livid expression on his face.
"Sasuke needs to be on a team to compete for the exams, and with my team having a spot free he will be assigned to my team for the duration of the exams," Natsumi explained tiredly. "Even if Sasuke is on my team, that doesn't mean I'm going to help him if a dire situation occurs. He can die for all I care."
"Good leave him to the mercy of the other teams," Revan said darkly. If the opportunity arises he can kill Sasuke without getting into any trouble he'll take it. There's no way he's letting someone get away with trying to kill his friend.
In Natsumi's mind the Nine Tails thanks to Revan and Natsumi holding hands could get a good look at Revan's magic, and what he sensed astonished him. Revan shouldn't exist he's an anomaly.
"If you were assigned to Mitarashi as an apprentice how did Kurama join your team?" Revan asked wanting to change the topic to something lighter.
Natsumi smiled recalling what happened, "That's a funny story actually. I was walking around the outskirts of the village by myself when I came across Yakumo practising Genjutsu. Since I had never seen her before I thought I would say hello, but I startled her resulting in her putting me under a Genjutsu thinking I was an enemy. I eventually broke out of the Genjutsu and explained to Yakumo I wasn't any enemy. We hit it off and eventually became friends when Yakumo didn't see me as the Nine Tails."
"That's nice to hear," Revan said smiling pleased to know not everyone in the village was an idiot.
"We got talking and I found out Yakumo wasn't on a team because she had trouble controlling her Bloodline Limit," Natsumi said.
"She has a Bloodline Limit," Revan commented surprised.
Natsumi nodded, "Yes Yakumo's Bloodline Limit allows her to cast powerful Genjutsus similar to the Sharingan."
"I knew she was a Genjutsu specialist, but I didn't expect her to have a Bloodline Limit."
"Yes, she's not particularly happy that you keep breaking out of her Genjutsu's so easily when her Bloodline Limit should prevent that. Anyways I convinced Anko to allow Yakumo to join the team after a lot of nagging and pleading, and I haven't regretted it since. Yakumo has come a long way since the day she first joined me. She had very little body strength at first, and now she can hold her own quite well," Natsumi said proud of her friend.
Revan looked impressed with what he was hearing, "She's certainly come a long way since then."
'Hey brat,' the Nine Tails said.
'Yes, what is it?' Natsumi asked annoyed her time with Revan was getting interrupted.
'You should know your potential mate isn't at all human, he's a Nephalem. I don't know how he's alive, as demonic and holy magic can never coexist in the same space since the nature of their magic means their constantly fighting each other, but he is,' the Nine Tails explained.
He didn't know how a Nephalem could exist as they were just made up creatures. A demonic and holy creature could have sex, but it would never result in a child. Their magic prevented such things. So how did Revan come to exist is when it should be impossible?
'Well are you going to say something brat,' the Nine Tails said impatiently when Natsumi didn't respond.
'How can I say something when you didn't even tell me anything,' Natsumi commented annoyed.
The Nine Tails eyes widened in surprise his mind racing to figure out what Natsumi meant before he figured it out. That cunning bastard had hidden his nature under a Fidelius Charm. Only those that were as strong as him or stronger could figure out or hear what he really was. From what he could sense Revan was as strong as Matatabi, meaning Natsumi would never be able to know her crush is a Nephalem unless he tells her.
'Your potential mate is only half human,' the Nine Tails said. He might not be able to tell Natsumi Revan is a Nephalem, but he can get send her down a path that might lead to Revan revealing the truth to her.
'He is,' Natsumi remarked surprised. She never thought those rumours would be true. She always thought Naga had been lying to throw people off.
'In this case, the demon was telling the truth,' the Nine Tails confirmed.
Natsumi couldn't blame Revan for hiding that secret, not when half breeds are treated so poorly in this country. Maybe that's why he gets along with Fleur so well, as their both half breeds.
'Thanks for the information Nine Tails,' Natsumi said turning her attention back to Revan.
The Nine Tails just hoped nothing bad happened to his host from being friends with an immortal magical creature. He could tell Revan was truly Natsumi's friend and wasn't using her but the brat had grown on him, and he couldn't help but partially worry about her. Then again if the two of them became lovers, he could brag to his siblings how his host had managed to snag a Nephalem as a lover. Something their hosts had never accomplished. Food for thought he supposed.
A few weeks later the partners for the mixed tournament were revealed. Revan was teamed up with Fu, Samui with Theo, Natsumi with Sasuke much to her eternal displeasure, Naruko with Cedric Diggory, Goyle with Ino, Crabbe with Sakura, Draco with a Rain ninja, Pansy with Temari, Daphne with Yakumo, and Tracey was paired with a Mist shinobi much to her friends worry. He reassured Tracey that the Mist ninja wasn't a rapist, but promised to keep an eye on him to Tracey's relief.
He wasn't sure who was paired with whom for the other houses and villages but he did know Neville was paired with Rock Lee. The only reason he remembered such a partnership is because of how different the two of them are, and Rock's peculiar personality.
"How were your lessons for today?" Fleur asked resting against Revan's chest with his arms wrapped around her. The two of them were simply enjoying their time with each other in a courtyard, basking in the sun while it lasted.
"Moody is still eccentric, but he keeps everyone on their toes," Revan said smiling.
Fleur grimaced, "To me, Moody sounds like he's insane."
"He's not that bad. I guess he's just an acquired taste," Revan said.
Fleur sighed dramatically, "What sort of boyfriend have I got who doesn't mind spending time with a crazy person?"
"I believe you have a boyfriend who cares for you deeply and enjoys you gracing his presence with your beautiful self," Revan said smoothly making Fleur blush.
"You're such a charmer," Fleur said with a laugh.
"Only for you," Revan said kissing Fleur.
Fleur started kissing back when they were interrupted by a cough. Both of them turned to see who had interrupted them, and when they did they saw two Hufflepuff girls standing in front of them looking embarrassed by the kissing. Revan recognised them as Susan Bones and Hannah Abbot and wondered what they wanted.
"Can I help you Bones, Abbot?" Revan inquired wishing to get back to kissing Fleur.
Susan cleared her throat trying to calm down her blush, "Sorry we didn't mean to interrupt your time together, but I merely wanted to deliver a message to you from my Aunt."
"And who is your Aunt?" Fleur asked her curiosity getting the better of her.
"Susan's Aunt is the head of the DMLE," Hannah explained.
Fleur looked at Revan with mock seriousness, "Gaining the attention of the DMLE, what have you been up to?"
"I've done nothing wrong," Revan said giving Fleur a small smile, "or I presume so anyway." He said directing the last bit towards Susan.
Susan shook her head, "No you're not in trouble. My Aunt just wanted me to pass along her gratitude for sending Scathach her way, as she's been a big help in catching dark wizards."
"I'm glad I could help, but I didn't do much," Revan said making Susan look at him in disbelief.
"According to my Aunt, it was because of your connections that allowed Scathach to register as a dark wizard catcher. Otherwise, Scathach would have never likely gotten accepted," Susan said.
"All I did was talk to a few people, nothing more nothing less," Revan stated. It was actually Morgana that did the talking, but he wasn't going to mention that.
Hannah rolled her eyes, "Yes that's all you did," Hannah said sarcastically.
"That's all I needed to pass along, so I'll leave you two to it," Susan said getting ready to leave.
"Before you go could you tell me how Scathach's doing," Revan said with Fleur watching with interest as he inquired about another woman.
Susan chuckled, "I can't tell you much, apart from the fact that Scathach has a lot of male admirers in the Aurors force now."
"That I can believe, not that they'll have much luck with her though," Revan said.
"My Aunt said the same thing," Susan said grinning. "Enjoy your time together you two."
"So who's Scathach?" Fleur asked once Susan and Hannah were gone.
"Scathach is a friend of Morgan's that I helped get a job as a dark wizard hunter as a favour to Morgan," Revan explained not willing to tell the entire truth.
"You must be close to her to use her first name," Fleur noted.
"Close is a strong word. More like a friendly acquaintance and the reason I use her first name is that she refuses to use my last name, and so I ended up addressing her by her given name after a while," Revan said.
Fleur looked surprised. "Why haven't you made this woman address you by your last name? You have the power to do so."
"She'll only address me properly if I defeat her in a hand to hand combat spar, but I haven't managed to defeat her yet," Revan said.
Fleur shot up in shock, "You're telling me Scathach is stronger than you."
"Only in hand to hand combat, other than that I can defeat her," Revan said calming Fleur down.
"That's good for a second I thought there was someone stronger than you around," Fleur said relieved resting her head against Revan's chest.
"While I appreciate the faith you have in my Fleur, there are still people stronger than me in the world," Revan said with Minato being the prime example.
Fleur snorted, "I'll believe that when I see it. Anyway, how is a dark wizard catcher different from an Auror?"
"An Auror hunts down dark wizard and does various other things like solving crimes, while a dark wizard catcher doesn't have to follow the orders of the Aurors force, and can hunt down whoever they like," Revan said.
"So there similar to a bounty hunter then. They're not part of the Auror force, but they are still registered with them and can choose to hunt down whomever they wish," Fleur said her interest in Scathach growing.
"Essentially yes," Revan confirmed.
"Scathach sounds like an interesting person."
"She most certainly is."
Revan and Fleur once the sun went down sneaked off towards the prefect bathroom for some fun. Several hours later the two of them were resting in the bath after an intense session of sex.
"You okay Revan?" Fleur asked sitting on top of Revan's naked lap.
"I'm fine why do you ask?"
"It's just that on the way to the bathroom you seemed to, I don't know... get depressed," Fleur said struggling to put into words the change Revan went through.
Revan sighed pulling Fleur closer towards him for comfort, "There is a guest here at Hogwarts that looks like a younger version of my rapist, and everyone time I see her I am reminded of that horrible night."
Fleur hugged Revan tightly for support, "Do you want to talk about it?" Fleur asked gently tracing her fingers across Revan's chest.
"No I'm fine for the moment," Revan said planting a kiss on Fleur's forehead. "Your presence is the only thing I need to help me right now."
Fleur smiled at that but she wished she Revan would share more information with her. She didn't even know the name of his rapist, as Revan barely spoke of that night. All she knew was that his rapist drugged him, and had her way with him while at the same time complimenting him. She mentally shook her head wanting to get rid of such depressing thoughts like that.
"In that case," Fleur said smiling at Revan seductively and moving backwards and forwards on his pelvis, "Let me help you get your mind off her."
Within a few minutes the two of them were back at it again, though the entire time they were having sex, this mysterious woman was on the back of Fleur's mind.
End Chapter
Yakumo's origins have been changed. Instead of having the ability to kill with her Genjutsus by affecting the mind, her Bloodline Limit simply allows her to cast powerful Genjutsu's. This also means she won't have a split personality like in the anime.
