Previously on Sonic Mania: When Tomorrow Comes, after a brief 'conversation' between Sonic and a normal hedgehog, the team and Amy head off to Eggman's base, where they met Kanna, who replaced Amy's tomorrow fully. They fought Eggman, who once defeated, dropped a mysterious item, and as for Amy...

"Stay calm, Amy!" Mighty cried out as Amy freaked out now that she was human. Eventually, she calmed down and took a deep breath.

"Alright, maybe this isn't so bad." Amy said to herself. She then turned to Sonic and the others. "Infact, looking back now, I do look a bit cute like this!"

She had the same outfit as before, and she had long pink hair tied up in a ponytail with the same bangs she had in Mobian form. Suddenly, Tails glanced at Mighty.

"Mighty, do you mind if I take Honey's Tomorrow Gem?"

"Why?"

"I want to do some examining on it and something Eggman dropped in the fight against him." Tails responded.

"I see..." Mighty said. "Alright, just don't break it, okay?"

"I won't." Tails smiled as he took the gem and left with it and the strange item Eggman dropped and entered his room.

"Yo Miles, how long are you gonna keep yourself in there for!?"

Tails woke up, having fallen asleep before he could start examining. He then thought for a bit: Was he actually just called by his real name? Ignoring that thought, he opened the door and saw Sonic.

"Oh, hey Sonic." Tails greeted Sonic. "Why did you call me by my real name?"

"Since you don't have either of your two tails anymore, I thought your real name would work better." Sonic then responded with a smug look.

"How- ...Clever." Tails said, before poking Sonic's belly. "My little pudgeball."

"I'M NOT FAT!" Sonic then cried out in a rage.

"Oh, alright." Tails then said in a slightly annoyed tone.

"Also..." Sonic then began as Amy peeked from behind him. "Amy wanted to watch you paint."

"Oh...well...I'm sorry Amy, but I'm busy." Tails then responded, adjusting one of his two low pigtails. "You can try yourself if you want."

Tails then turned to get a paintbrush, and layed out paper on the floor for Amy. After some hesitation, Amy sat down and began to paint.

"I was going to examine a Tomorrow Gem and the item Eggman dropped." Tails then explained.

"You know Tails, I can stay here and help if you want." Sonic then offered.

"No thanks Sonic, I'm good. Thanks for offering though." Tails responded. "Hey...Sonic?"

"Yes?"

"Do you have time later?"

"Of course, why did you ask?"

"To discuss what we've found out about all this so far."

"Alright! I'm going to go practice using my bow and arrow you found for me!"

"Okay! One more thing...have you decided what to do for the festival yet?"

"Not yet, we've been so caught up with everything, but I'll let you know when I have!"

Sonic then turned back around and left, leaving only Tails and Amy. Tails looked at Amy, and smiled a bit. He then turned back to what he was doing. He held the Tomorrow Gem and item, and tapped them together. As he did this, he felt a little power surge from them.

"Could it be that they are connected in a way?" Tails thought to himself, before taking out a piece of paper to right down what he's discovered so far.

"Aah...what happened..?" Honey groaned as she wake up. She had felt a weird electric shock, which woke her up. She looked around, and noticed she was in what she believed was Mighty's room. She then noticed Mighty sitting on the bed she was on.

"Oh! Um...hello Mighty!" Honey greeted upon seeing him. "Where is everyone, and why am I in your room?"

Mighty then sighed, and began to explain. "You see...back there, Metal Sonic stole your and Amy's tomorrows, taking your powers and making you both fall unconscious. You were both meant to become human too, but the Tomorrow replacing wasn't complete, so you were both still Mobians. Unfortunately, when we went to confront Eggman to see what he was doing before we decided to go find the Chaos Emeralds to stop him, Amy's transfer was completed by somebody called 'Kanna' who also stole her Tomorrow Gem, and is now a human as a result. Also, Tails is examining your Tomorrow Gem."

"That's...really cool!" Honey exclaimed. "Though...I'm confused on what a Tomorrow or a Tomorrow Gem is."

"Tomorrows are a special energy in us that keeps track of who we are and every action we make, so it can turn into a brand new day of our lives. Eggman and his new ally Kanna have taken ours and replaced them, turning us into our current forms. When a Tomorrow is stolen, is it sealed into a Tomorrow Gem, one Tomorrow stored in each gem." Mighty then explained.

"Ooh, sounds interesting!" Honey said, visibly interested.

"That's...pretty much it, actually!" Mighty then said, as he laughed. "Also, about the others: Sonic is practising using his bow and arrow Tails found for him, Ray is making food for the festival, Amy is with Tails, and Knuckles is outside."

"Ooohhh, alright!" Honey said, still interested.

"Or...you can just stay here and watch me do short stories for the festival!" Mighty then suggested.

"I'm going to wander around and see what catches my eye the most!"

"Alright then. Just don't go into Tails' room, okay?"

"Okay!"

And Honey raced off. Mighty sighed as he took out some paper and pen and began to write some short stories. As he did this, he reminisced the time he and Ray first met Honey.

One Month Prior

It had been a while since Knuckles had defeated Metal Sonic and Eggman, so Mighty and Ray were hanging out together. Mighty had recently been considering finding a home for him, Ray, Sonic and Tails to settle down in.

"Um...excuse me! You two!"

Both of them stopped for a moment at the sound a female voice. They looked around, before noticing a mobian coming towards them.

The mobian was a yellow cat with long, black hair in two ponytails. She wore a red dress with a black stripe and white laces, with a similar red and black pattern on her boots. "Um...my name's Honey! I was wondering if you could help me with something!"

Mighty and Ray looked at eachother for a moment. "Um, sure." Mighty then said. "What is it you need help with?"

"Well, you see, there's a special festival I'm planning for July 17th." Honey explained.

"A special festival?"

"Yes. It's for the one hundred year showing of the Future Comet!"

The two mobians stood there cluelessly at Honey for a few moments. "The...what now...?"

"You see, I've found out about it recently. Every one hundred years, it passes by our planet. It's said to bless your future and give you a vision of said future. However, due to the lack of technology all the past showings, nobody knows if it's real or not. So this year will be the first chance to find out!" Honey then explained.

"It seems...interesting." Mighty responded. "What is it you want us to do though?"

"There are a few roles open: Someone to make food, do art, do short stories, maybe we need more people to help prepare it, I dunno..."

"I'll help!" Ray instantly said, raising his hand.

Mighty simply laughed a little at Ray. "I suppose I can help too." He then said.

"That's perfect!" Honey then exclaimed in happiness. "We can arrange what you can do later."

"By the way..." Mighty then began. "We're looking for a home we and two of our friends and settle down in for a while. Can you help us?"

"Well, of course I can! Since you're gonna help with the festival, it would be right for me to help you two!"

Mighty then smiled warmly. It was a deal!

Present Day -
"Hey, Tails! Look at this I made!"

Tails briefly stopped writing down what he was finding out about the Tomorrow Gem and and item Eggman dropped to look at Amy. She'd drawn a picture of both her and Sonic in their original forms together. And it looked...pretty cute?

"That...looks really nice, Amy!" Tails complimented the drawing, and Amy smiled.

"Thanks!"

"You're welcome. I'm going to continue examining these for a little while if that's okay." Tails then said.

Amy then nodded in agreement as she started to work on some more paintings.

A few hours later...

A while had passed since Tails started examining the gem and strange item, and he felt like stopping for a while. When he opened the door, Sonic was there waiting.

"So, how is it going so far?" Sonic then asked.

"I'm glad you asked! It's going great. I've started to noticed that this thing is somewhat similar to the Tomorrow Gems, and they're connected in a way."

"That sounds cool! Though that doesn't really explain why it was dropped from Eggman's machine."

"I haven't really gotten to that part yet myself. But I have thought of a name for them! Due to their seed-like appearance and connection to the Tomorrow Gems, I'm going to call these 'Seeds of Yesterday'." Tails explained.

"That seems like a good name." Sonic responded.

"Oh! I almost forgot, Amy wanted me to show you this."

Tails then took out the painting Amy did while in his room, and showed it to Sonic. "O-Oh wow, this actually looks pretty nice!" Sonic then said as he looked at it.

"I know!"

"Oh, also..." Sonic then began. "I actually talked with Knuckles earlier to see if I could learn anything else, and he said when he woke up human, he noticed the Master Emerald was stolen again. Do you think that might have to do with this?"

"I'm not sure..." Tails responded, as he began to think for a moment. If them becoming human had to do with their Tomorrows being stolen, why would the Master Emerald be stolen too? Wait, Knuckles was the guardian of the Master Emerald, a emerald is a type of gem...that was it! "Sonic, I think I got it! They might be using the Master Emerald as Knuckles' Tomorrow Gem!"

Sonic paused for a moment. "That makes sense." He then said.

"Also, now that I think about it, we should hold off looking for the Chaos Emeralds until we fully figure out WHAT is going on."

"I can see why, but I'm a bit worried it'll be too late once we do. So, let's see if we can search for them as we go along."

"That works! I'll talk to the others about it later or tomorrow." Tails said.

"Sounds like a plan to me!"

Tails then smiled, and Sonic grinned. Now they were getting places. If they kept like this, they'd defeat Eggman and be back to normal in no time!

A/N: AND WE'RE BACK! Sorry to taking to long to update, I kind of have writers block with this story, and I keep getting distracted. I'm also working on a complied version of the story with a few changes, but I'm not sure fi I'll change the ones here to those versions yet. I hope to do more chapters soon, but until then, see you all next time!
