Mother's Day

Disclaimers: Dipper Pines and Co. are owned by Disney and Alex Hirsch and are all copied without permission. I have made this story for fun and not profit.

Writer's Note: IVe wanted to write this because throughout the series I've sees so far, I hadn't once seen Wendy's Mom.. So just thought this would be a reason on why.

*One-Shot*

The day was relatively normal for a change. Dipper had a slight spring in his step. A month before, his and Mabel's parents had allowed the twins to stay in Gravity Falls for the first few months of Spring as well as the Summer. He wasn't sure why, but he had felt the need to get out of the Mystery Shack for the day. As he walked, Dipper glanced at the many citizens that were spending the day with their mothers. It was Mother's Day after all. He smiled, remembering him and his sister Mabel wishing their mom a Happy Mother's Day. Mabel had sent her a box filled with the many different 'souvenirs' from Gravity Falls and their mother in turn had happily accepted their gift. Dipper sighed contently as he broke from his thoughts.

Looking up, he found he was walking past the cemetery. Dipper stopped in his tracks as he saw an all too familiar figure standing as still as a statue. Dipper watched as Wendy stood alone.

He slowly inched closer toward her.

"You're not very quiet, you know.." Wendy muttered softly.

"U-uh.. Sorry.." Dipper blushed slightly.

Wendy still hadn't turned around.

"W-Wendy?"

He soon approached and stopped, now standing beside her. Wendy gazed forlornly ahead of her. Dipper then turned to look where she was looking. He stared in shock as he saw the inscription on the headstone.

Headstone

'Silvia Corduroy'

'Loving Friend'

'Wife'

'Mother'

"Is... I-is that?" Dipper began.

Wendy nodded stiffly, her tears starting to slip down her face.

"Y-yeah.. M..my Mom.."

Dipper stared in awe as a pain filled his heart.

"W-Wendy.."

"N..no.. I-it's okay.." Wendy sniffed. "I-it was maybe t-ten years ago..."

Dipper moved closer and took her hand, gripping it softly.

"Wendy.. I.. I had no idea.."

Wendy didn't respond. Her hands started shaking horribly and she tightly shut her eyes.

Dipper himself couldn't help but pull her into a tight hug to which Wendy finally broke down, crying hard into Dipper's shoulder.

"Sssshhhhh.." Dipper soothed softly, gently rubbing her back as he held her.

He wasn't sure how long they had been standing there but it didn't matter. All that mattered was comforting his best friend in the world. Dipper continued to hold onto her, letting her vent out all of her grief and sadness. Finally, Wendy sniffed and she let go.

"Thanks.." Wendy mumbled softly as she began drying her eyes. "I-I really needed that.."

Dipper smiled warmly and continued to hold her hand tight.

"S-She's still with you.. Y-you know.." Dipper started. "She never really left.."

Wendy looked at him, her tears falling again. He gently brushed them away.

"She's in your heart.." Dipper replied.

Wendy smiled tearfully and then chuckled a little.

"Y-you know that line's been used so many times?"

"Heh.. Yeah.." Dipper replied, scratching the back of his head awkwardly.

"E-either way.." Wendy started.

She pulled him into a tight hug.

"T-thanks.. I-it really helped me.."

Wendy turned back to her mother's grave and gently placed a hand on the polished surface.

"Happy Mother's Day... Mom.. I love you.."

She soon turn back to Dipper and smiled softly. Dipper smiled back and soon took her hand again. Then, together, Wendy and Dipper left the cemetery.
