Rain was heavy on the sidewalk. Filling in puddles on every surface. Sliding off windows, and blocking off the moon with it's heavy clouds. Ripples were coming from the putter patter of more raindrops.

Until there was a splash. A black boot thudding upon a muddy puddle, splashing her red suit with brown. Rose petals were left in her place.

A man dropped his cigar in a puddle too, too focused on running away from said girl.

"Shit..." Torchwick had made a turn into an alley-way. Turning around, he saw Ruby standing there. "Well, haha... Funny seeing you here Red!" "Save it Torchwick! I'm turning you in!!" He looked around quickly, before noticing something. He sighed and then smirked. "Sure you will kid. Sure you will. But if you'll excuse me now.. I have to go!"

Ruby charged forwards and leaped to tackle him, but he vanished in thin air. Ruby gasped before she indeed make contact with something. Or someone.

The two tumbles backwards, and ended with Ruby holding a small neapolitan-colored girl, who glared at her.

Until their gazes met.

The two both took on shocked looks, as they felt a sudden rush of emotions. A small shimmering glow was beneath Ruby's shirt on her chest. Matching Neo's glow beneath her shirt, also on her chest.

And thus, they both became marked with each other's emblems.

Afterall, that's what happens with soulmates.

Ruby sat up, slowly crawling off of Neo, not standing up. Neo sat up as well, simply staring at the other girl.

"So um... Hi I guess?" Ruby stammered out before blushing. Neo's eyes widened. Neo thought this girl was crazy, she was the enemy! Why was she acting so casual?!

"What's your name?...U-uh-I'm Ruby by the way!!" Ruby fiddled her thumbs nervously.

Neo's intial shock faded, and she cautiously held up her hand, writing the words in air using her hand and semblence. "Neopolatin."

Ruby read it under her breath. "Neo..."

She turned to Neo. "Like that ice-cream huh?" A low chuckle was emitted from the red girl. Neo blushed. Neo was still surprised by this feeling she easy having. Was this love? Ruby was having the same dilemma, not sure on what to do having found her soulmate to be an enemy. Not that she cared.

Neo wrote again. Ruby waited patiently, reading along in her head. "Aren't you going to turn me in?"

Ruby thought for a moment, before shaking her head. "No, you're my soulmate after all! I'll just... Keep it a secret! Yeah!" The rose girl smiled, and Neo's heart skipped a beat.

Neo got up in Ruby's face, causing the girl to blush even more and stutter out "uh!"s and "um!"s.

The two girls could feel their breath on each other's faces. Neo slowly brought her face closer, until their lips were almost touching. Ruby was so red she looked like she was about to explode.

And explode she did.

She mashed her lips against Neo's causing the ice-cream girl to gasp, accidentally causing their tongues to touch. But they both went along with it anyways. Enjoying this moment in the rain, the feel and warmth of their lover's skin, the joy at having found their soulmate, the sound of the patter of rain, as well as the little droplets, and the pleasure from hearing each other's little sounds.

Even if Ruby had to listen really close for Neo's.

They never thought that they would fall in love with each other.

Torchwick watched from afar, mouth agape, and still in shock. He decided to forget it, go home, and use some brain bleach.

And to not tattle on Neo. Everybody needed love.
