"Say, Brain? There's something I don't understand."

"That certainly narrows it down," Brain replied sarcastically, keeping his gaze on his plans for tonight.

"Can you pretty please help me understand it?"

Brain sighed, and, resigning himself to the very minor delay, he turned to his friend. "Fine. What is it?"

"Okay, so, remember when Billie became smarty-smart like you? Poit?"

"Yes..."

"So, how come you wanted to take over the world before her, cause if you still loved her, when you could've just taken over the world together?"

Brain frowned. That was an utterly ridiculous thing to not understand.

"Pinky, we are going to take over the world. As in, you and I. Not Billie and I."

Pinky frowned, still obviously confused.

"Couldn't you have replaced me? Narf! I would've understood cause you loved her."

Brain looked about his horrified as he felt at that. Which was to say, a lot. "Why on earth would I ever replace you?"

Pinky blinked. "Oh."

Suddenly, Pinky understood. Probably better than Brain did, since he himself believed his attachment to be platonic.

"Exactly," Brain said, nodding. "Now can I get back to work?"

"Sure thing!" Pinky chirped.

He was pleased that he was so adored - even if Brain didn't know it.
