I realized I haven't updated in a year... So here is the next chapter :)

Kopa and Kion resumed the journey back to the pridelands. The two were traveling through a desert and did not have food or water in a couple of hours. Kopa's mouth felt dry from the lack of water and as much as he wanted to take a break he couldn't because of the lack of resources. The only thing the two could do was keep going. Kopa looked down at his little brother. The cub was leaning against him, eyes halfway closed. Kopa picked him up and set him on his back. They would travel faster that way. After another excruciating hour, Kopa saw a small stream in the distance. Kopa picked up the pace and started running to it, jostling the cub on his back. When Kopa finally got there, he took a sip of the water, it was cool and refreshing.

"Kion wake up." Kopa half yelled as he took the cub off of his back.

Kion did not even twitch so Kopa splashed water into his brother's face. The cub woke up with a start and looked at Kopa.

"Water" Kopa only had to say that one word for the cub to fully wake up and Kion took big gulps of the water.

The two took some more sips of the water for this was probably one of the few times they would get water on the rest of their journey. Kopa sniffed the air trying to get the scent of an animal to hunt but there wasn't any near by. Kopa then heard a low growl and saw a male lion twice his size. He had a dark brown mane and light brown fur. One of his eyes had scar across it, like he had been in a battle of some kind.

"Kion get behind me." Kopa ordered.

Kion timidly stepped behind his brother still eyeing the huge lion in front of them.

The lion roared at Kopa, and Kopa growled back.

"What are you rouges doing in my lands." The lion roared at them

Kopa saw that this lion seemed itching for a fight and Kopa did not have time for that.

"We are just passing through, we mean no harm." Kopa said calmly.

His father always used to tell him to handle situations like this calmly, and not jump into a fight.

The Lion roared at them "You do know the penalty of entering these lands without my permission?"

"What! Of course not, I don't even know who you are!

What makes you think you can tell me when I can pass through these lands or not!

Who do think you are!" Kopa roared angrily.

The unknown lion laughed at Kopa's outburst leaving the two princes confused.

"My name is Mtawala and I am the ruler of these lands."

Well damn

"The penalty for entering my lands is normally instant death. But you did not know who I was and that wouldn't be fair now would it?"

"You will now have to stay in my lands and with my pride, whatever destination you were thinking about reaching you can forget it now."

Kopa thought about his options.

'If I try to fight my way out of this there is no way I could win. If I try to run he would surely catch me for he knows the lands better than me. I have no choice.'

"Are we really going with him Kopa?"

Kopa looked at his brother and sighed

"I'm afraid we don't have a choice
