Note: This is my first piece of fan fiction… ever.

This may not be incredible - or even pass as good by the fan fiction standards - but I'd like to reassure anyone reading this that I tried :)

I'm also a bit of a grammar freak, so please do correct me if any of the grammar in this piece is wrong. Thanks!

This chapter takes place after Season 3 ends. Adam's in university, and to his surprise, he's back with the gang.

- Chapter One: First Impressions Are Everything -

Adam's POV:

Ok. High school was fun, I'll admit it. But it's not time for fun and games any more. The people who go to university have paid good money to sit here and learn. I need to focus on teaching. No more fun and games.

I've been here before. I studied here just three years ago – before I graduated and became a high school teacher – so I know my way around, which is fortunate for me because I really, really don't want to be late to my own class.

I don't waste any time and confidently enter my lab. It's a huge upgrade from the… thing I had back at Finnegan. I don't bother taking a look at my students; it's probably just your average set of nerds. Half of them probably aren't even here yet.

I set my bag down on my desk and unpack my gear before writing my name on the whiteboard at the front of the class. I doubt anyone here knows me, so I take extra care to make sure my name is clear, and that everyone can hear me.

"Good morning, class. I'm Professor. Young – your science teacher. Feel free to call me Adam. Now, I understand you may have some questions regarding my age, but–"

Before I can finish, I hear a quiet giggle from the back of the class.

"We know who you are, dummy!" says a high-pitched female voice.

Wait, what...

I could recognise that voice anywhere.

I drop my pen in shock, and drop to the floor to retrieve it.

"Echo?" I ask whilst still facing the ground, trying to find my pen. "Echo Zizzleswift?"

"… What about her?" asks another voice, a little lower-pitched, which sounds strangely like Jordan Slabinsky's dull tone.

"Guys, can we just get on with this?" replies yet another familiar voice. Derby!?

Huh. Weird.
