I'm sorry to say this is not the full chapter, for that's still in development. It's still a long way from being completed. But, I know many of you have been waiting for it for almost a year now, and I thought I'd reward your patience.

This is the beginning, and I hope you guys enjoy it.

The blue glow of Sans' magic surrounded the shield as he held it aloft. The former skeleton let out a soft sigh as he absentmindedly curled his fingers.

It wasn't that he was disappointed with Ruby's gift, far from it. It just brought back memories of someone he had met. Someone special. He half-consciously reached out with his right arm toward the closet that held a certain piece of clothing.

Team SKWL were currently having a day off. Klaus had left earlier to meet up with an old friend, Whiz decided to sleep in, and Luna was currently taking a shower.

He closed his eyes as fragments of an old memory seeped into his mind.

"where did you get this?"

"I made it. What do you think?"

"it's an exact replica-"

"You okay?"

His arm immediately dropped to his side as the blow glow of his magic flickered briefly. Looking over his shoulder, Sans saw a pajama wearing Whiz sitting on her bed observing him curiously. He could detect a bit of concern in her voice.

"You've been staring at your shield for the past hour."

"yeah, i'm fine." he turned back to the shield. "just thinking."

She leaned forward. "About what?"

He let out another sigh before lowering the shield. "a personal memory."

"Oh." She moved back. "Sorry, didn't mean to pry."

Sans set the shield down. "don't worry about it." He turned back around. "there are just some secrets i'd rather keep to myself for now."

Whiz laid back, grabbing the covers and rolled herself up into a burrito. "I hear ya. Everyone's got a secret to hide."

"even you?"

Whiz leaned back and looked up. "Even me."

Sans raised an eyebrow. What kind of secret did the fun-loving prankster Whiz Bree have to hide? Despite his curiosity, he knew it was his to pry. Plenty of people had tried to with him back home.

His thoughts were interrupted by a door opening. Luna stepped out of the bathroom wrapped in a towel and drying her hair.

"hey, loon. enjoy your shower?"

She nodded. "Yep. I feel refreshed." Luna approached her dresser and pulled out her clothes. "What about you Sans? You got anything planned for today?"

He shrugged. "not really. can't really think of anything to do."

"Maybe we can go to the movies?" The muffled voice that came from the bed burrito suggested.

"That sounds fine," Luna commented as she re-entered the bathroom.

Sans looked over the bed burrito. " that looks comfy."

"You have no idea," the voice replied.

"ever made a double bed burrito?"

Whiz immediately shot up, undoing the burrito. "That's a legend."

The former skeleton smirked. "I beg to dinner."

The blanket fell off Whiz as she crossed her arms. "Prove it."

Several minutes later, Luna stepped out of the bath once again, but this time fully clothed. The first thing she was Sans taking a picture of Whiz who was wrapped up in two quilts.

"life changing isn't it?"

"It is!" Whiz squealed with glee as wiggled around in the burrito.

"What's going on here?" Luna asked.

"just showing our teammate how to live the dream," Sans responded before something about Luna caught his eye. "did you dye your hair?"

Luna paused. "Hmm?"

Sans pointed to his hair. "your hair, it's dark blue. wasn't it originally magenta?"

"Huh? Oh!" Her eyes widened in realization and she pointed at her hair. "This is my regular hair color, I tend to dye it on occasion out of boredom."

"ah. You do that often?"

Luna shrugged. "More or less. I like to experiment with different styles and colors. The same goes for my clothes. Though, if I'm being honest, I've always preferred blue."

Before anyone else could speak, the door to their room suddenly opened. All three turned to see Klaus step in with a serious look on his face.

"what's up?" Sans asked as he looked away to watch Whiz worm her way out of the burrito.

"There's been a robbery."

Sans immediately turned back to Klaus.

"Ozpin wants us to investigate," the Faunus continued.

His teammates looked to one another before nodding. Sans retrieved his shield while Whiz got dressed. Luna and Klaus checked their weapons before packing them. Just in case.

Once they were ready, team SKWL left the room.
