Months past as the pups lived their regular lives once more. The pups, though filled with power, took a break on their powers, and relied on their abilities as a team to solve missions. Rocky came and went as he went to visit his mother and Gray, but most of the time he would remain at the lookout with the other pups. Rocky, in between missions, had an idea one day. He wanted to show the heavenly world above to the pups, and dedicated most of his free time and nights to create a machine to teleport pups to the palace. Of course, he had to ask for permission, and after a very long conversation and debating, Rocky barely persuaded his mother to allow other pups to visit once a year.
With this, Rocky started to create his machine. He scrapped the old separator and redesigned it to allow teleportation. Night after night, Rocky worked non-stop on this device until finally a prototype Rocky was certain was going to work was finished.
"Hey Gray! Look, I finished it!" Rocky shouted over to Gray who was resting on a cushion he dragged down into Rocky's lab.
"Oh cool. Can I go now? I got a fancy lunch to catch in heaven." Gray yawned and stretched.
"Well, why don't we take this up? It'll be a nice trial." Rocky yipped happily.
"Are you sure it works?" Gay asked and Rocky nodded his head vigourously. Gray shrugged and trusted Rocky, after all, most of his inventions worked. The two dogs walked into the teleporter and Rocky booted it up.
"Man, I can't wait to have the pups visit! It'll be so exciting!" Rocky yipped as he bounced around.
"Hey, Rocky, calm down. We still don't know if it works 100% yet." Gray mentioned, rolling his eyes.
"Well, if it goes wrong, then you can laugh in my face about it for the next century." Rocky betted.
"Done!" Gray answered immediately and the machine started to whir. The device suddenly started to spin and poofed out of Rocky's lab. When Rocky and Gray stumbled out, they found themselves in the forests of Adventure Bay, far away from the palace.
"Hah! I told you it wouldn't work the first time!" Gray laughed. Rocky looked flustered. It was the first time he had failed to make something work. "Come on, let's go back to the lookout with this thing and head back the old fashion way."
"Uh, about that, I only brought enough fuel to power it one way" Rocky laughed sheepishly.
"You're kidding right?" Gray asked. Rocky shook his head. "Talk about cocky."
"Hey! You take that back. Anyways, I'll just call Ryder and he can bring us back." Rocky dismissed. After ringing up Ryder on his pup tag, Rocky started to speak.
"Hey Ryder, I got lost in the woods and need a pickup, can you come?" Rocky asked.
"The Woods? Alright, I'll be there in a bit! Hang tight and don't get lost!" Ryder responded. "See what'd I tell you, Ryder will always be here for us!"
"I guess you're right about that," Gray sighed. What the two unsuspecting pups didn't know was that right before leaving, the destination had changed, and the new destination wrote "TRAVELING TO: A NEW POWER"
