Janis decorates her new car with artwork rather than any stickers. Two stick figures vomit heart waterfalls while another vomits a rainbow. Cady shrugs when her mother asks why the hearts are black. Next week the stick figures might be vomiting green and purple polka dots.

Janis drags her to concerts where the band has some obscure name. Everyone knows how to pronounce her name without any explanation, but she doesn't know how to pronounce theirs. People giggle into their smoke scented palms and call them cute.

Janis calls her cuter than a puppy shitting a bucket of kittens. Cady can only shrug when her mother asks what that means.
