The scene had changed.
It was the same spacious dark room, but now her father's mask had been removed and he was wheezing for breath, reminding Leia of a fish out of water.
She could hear the Force whisper in her heart that Vader felt much guilt, the Emperor having found out the change in him was of him being nearer to the light side: resulting with the Sith Lord sending many dreadful dark sided visions and images of the dead that had been killed thanks to Vader.
Palpatine's intention was to persuade him to return quickly back to the way of the sith, the way of anger and power and Leia could feel all the comfort of the rose colored glasses the way of the Sith offered for her father.
She understood his temptation.
Would anyone rather have the guilt of so many faces tormenting your conscious so much that you desired death ? Or rather embrace the path that felt like freedom and ease?
Vader was laying sprawled out, back on the floor and she could feel that the removal of his mask for long periods of time had been something the Emperor had done to him to try to force him to break down his mental barriers.
Leia frowned at what she seen.
Despite the dim lighting she could make out the dreadful bruises on her father's face.
"How long do you think you can keep fighting against me? ... Sooner or later eventually you will lose and I will learn what it is you're keeping secret from me." Sneered in the darkness the Sith Lord.
Leia could feel with the Force the Emperor harshly starting to attack the walls of her father's mind.
Vader flinched, tired and weak and then let out loud a cry of pain.
It was a mighty fight and her father though tired stayed strong, trying his hardest to keep Palpatine from entering past the walls of his mind.

It had been many days and the battle had been lost. Medical droids were now assisting and mending Lord Vader who's heart had returned to being blackened with the dark side. The dark Lord laid on the medical bed. His fresh gruesome burns covering his body and face that he had received from his master's force electricity were being treated.
"The daughter of skywalker." The Emperor said to his slave. "She will be punished severely if she will not turn, for what she had done to you. To my servant."
"Yes, my master." Vader affirmed nodding. "Most severely."

Once the vision had ended Leia looked over at Luke and seen him staring back at her with a look of astonishment that she knew her face held too. She perceived just by his face alone that he also had seen the vision.
The Emperor's brow ridges came together and he scowled.
"You ..You both saw something from the Force. I feel it.." He said coolly. "I don't expect either of you to tell me what it was. At least not willingly. "
He folded his hands together.
"But one of you, if not both will tell me eventually." He said darkly with a smile.
"You think we'll convert like our father." Luke replied. "You're mistaken."
The Emperor stood up from his throne. "Oh, no. My young Jedi."
He said while approaching the twins and his slave.
"You will find that it is you who are mistaken about a great many things."
He stood inches from them now.
"His lightsaber." Vader said while offering the weapon to his master.
"Ah, yes. A Jedi's weapon." The Emperor smiled as he took the device. "Much like your father's."
His yellow eyes sparkled mischievously at Luke.
Slowly the yellow orbs went to Leia.
"And what about you, princess? Where is your weapon? Surely you haven't misplaced it. Or worse ...broken it."
Leia kept silent, yet her face shown stern against the vile man as his eyes swept with spiritual eyes over her body.
His eyes abruptly halted at her feet.
"Ah." The Emperor smiled sickeningly. He pointed a finger at her right boot. "There it is. Bring it out. Let us see your lightsaber."
Leia glared in annoyance at him in response and then slowly bent down and took off her boot. Reaching down into her boot she grabbed and withdrew her weapon.
Without warning a strong pull grasped her lightsaber and violently snatched it away from her hand and it flew into the hands of the Emperor.
He studied it carefully, inspecting it.
"Pretty. Very pretty. Fitting for a princess, if you ask me."
"Good thing no one asked." Leia replied harshly, crossing her arms as she placed her foot back into her boot. To have her weapon taken away from her and brought into the hands of the enemy not only gave her fear for herself and Luke, but anxiety also for the well-being of her lightsaber.
The murderous look in his eyes returned at her.
Slowly Palpatine turned away from her and held out to Luke his lightsaber.
The action had shocked the family to say the least.
"Take it, boy." Ordered the Emperor.
For a few seconds Luke stared at him in disbelief, not sure what he heard was correct.
Finally though he reached out and grabbed the weapon.
Once he had taken it the Emperor smiled, pleased.
"Now is the most important day of your young life, young Skywalker. You do not realize it yet, but soon you will be joining me. You and your sister. But first, you must prove yourself worthy and destroy your father."
Luke's eyes grew big as the words the Emperor had spoken hit him.
In horror Luke watched as Vader reached for and pulled out his own Lightsaber.
"I will not kill my own father!" Luke fiercely answered back the evil ruler. Quickly Luke turned his head to his father. "Father, I will not kill you!"
Vader remained still, holding onto his weapon and his head facing the Emperor.
Unmoving.
Statuesque.
"Then soon you will die." He coldly replied.
Palpatine laughed and then revealed a hideous smile that showed off most of his teeth.
"We shall see how true your words ring by the end of the battle, Jedi." He grinned at Luke.
"Come. Stand beside me, girl." Commanded the Emperor to the princess as he turned around. He made his way to his throne and sat upon it.
Leia looked over at Luke and saw the blatant fear and hurt on her brother's face.
I don't want to hurt him, or worse ... and I don't want him doing the same to me.
"Just talk to him, Luke. Talk to him as you two fight and keep your defense up." Leia softly urged warmly, trying to soothe him. "Talking to him. That's key to trying to reach him. Use your time fighting to try to reach him. Don't forget the hope you just had earlier."
Luke's shoulder's visibly relaxed a little and he nodded.
"NOW!" barked the Emperor to Leia, making her almost jump. A twinge of annoyance for the Sith Lord entered the Princess's eyes for a couple of seconds.
The twins gave each other a final look before each separating.
Vader had distanced himself from the others. He stood at the bottom of the steps that lead to The Emperor and was waiting for Luke.
Luke headed towards him making his way to the steps, meanwhile Leia started to go her way to stand besides the Emperor.
"Tell me, your majesty: any particular reason you had my brother fight alone with our father instead of us both? It couldn't be a personal two against one rule you have. It's not as if Sith are known for wanting to fight fair." This she had said as she had walked and finished her speaking once she stood at last next to him.
The Emperor let out a chuckle.
"It's but of course of simple reasoning why I hadn't made you both to fight, Princess Leia. Your brother has had more training and more experience than yourself. You are merely a child with the Force. The battle between skywalker and lord vader should prove to be entertaining. And of course being the gentleman that I am, I thought you would like to Join in watching with me.
Leia didn't buy his answer one bit.
She looked over at her brother and father. Both now wielding ignited lightsabers and standing across from one another. Both stood in a warrior stance, both ready to defend or attack.
"Whatever you say, Glorious one." Leia murmured in response sarcastically, feeling sadness and worry about the whole thing that was about to unravel.
May neither die or be injured but him. Leia silently prayed to the Force.
Luke nervously swallowed hard, before daring to speak.
"Father, please." Luke begged desperately. "It doesn't have to be like this! We don't have to fight!"
And with that said Vader drew back his blade and then sent the red plasma blade in the direction of Luke's face. Luke quickly blocked it, making red and green lightsabers collide and causing sparks flying forth from both weapons.
I'd would have done better at blocking that attack. Leia rudely thought to herself.
"That you are greatly wrong, child. We must fight and fulfill our destiny. " Vader vehemently answered back Luke.
He sent his red lightsaber this time headed at Luke's stomach and Luke quickly deflected the attack.
"Our destiny?" His son asked gobsmacked. "What?! To try to kill one another? That's not our destiny father and you know it isn't!'
The twins could feel the affect of his words on the Sith.
"Quiet!" Snapped Vader in anger. The dark lord began to unleash a myriad of strikes, all of which Luke struggled to block. Quickly Luke started to back away, intentionally making a greater distance between him and his father before giving his own set of a hoard of attacks back at his father.
look at him, my brother. He's pathetic. I could do so much better! Luke's too soft hearted! Why am I not fighting father instead?-
And in an instant Leia came to her senses.
What was that?! What just happened?!
Leia asked herself at the thoughts and anger that had just flowed through body.
Quickly she turned to the Emperor who sat enthusiastically watching the fighting taking place between her two family members as if it were the greatest show in all the galaxies to watch.
How sick! Leia thought in disgust at the man as she looked at him.
Then she noticed it. Her lightsaber was laid out in the open resting beside his hand. Swiftly Leia reached out to it and it flew into her hand.
"You're a vile monster, do you know that?" Leia spat, holding her weapon now in both hands and getting into fighting stance. "You thought I wouldn't notice you putting those thoughts in my head and that anger from the dark side?"
Leia ignited her lightsaber, bringing forth and unleashing a dark purple roaring blade.
"Enough! I won't stand and do nothing as you try to destroy my family."
Nostrils flaring and taking a deep breath Leia swung hard with her lightsaber at the Emperor, hoping for a fatal blow.
Almost instantaneously lightning loudly came into being and crackled and flew into leia's blade, pushing the blade back before it could meet Palpatine's head. The Emperor began to laugh loudly and Leia tried hard to hold steady her lightsaber.
Soon Palpatine's laughter died off and fear settled on his face once he looked at her and saw the blade of her lightsaber. Leia couldn't believe or understand why the emotion of fear was now on his face.
His brow ridges came slowly together.
"You can become very powerful with the dark side. Much more than your brother who has your mother's heart. Your heart is more like your father. You know this. You have much anger. You could be magnificent."
"Don't waste your breath anymore. Nothing you or anyone else could offer will make me turn." Leia growled.
Palpatine's yellow eyes burned brighter in anger.
"No? Fine. Then now you will die, daughter of skywalker."

The sound of the static of the Force electricity caught both Vader and Luke off guard and made them both stop fighting. The two both stood frozen in place with their weapons still held in the same position as they last had been in when they were fighting. The two both were looking now in the direction of the noise.
Once Vader saw what was happening between Leia and the Emperor fear entered in him for her and once he gazed at the color of Leia's blade the sight caused him to nearly drop his own lightsaber.
The long ago memory of the dark skinned Jedi man who also used an amethyst blade resurfaced to his mind and shook him down to his very core.
.
.
Leia gritted her teeth as the Emperor increased his electricity, many bolts now striking her body hard here and there, making her feel like her skin was being melted off where she had been struck.
"You didn't think I'd forget your punishment, did you?" The Sith Lord maniacally yelled over the loud sparks with a smile.
The princess could smell the horrible stench of the burning flesh of her own skin.
Using the force to gain more strength she pressed harder against his attack, earning her blade a good two inches closer, nearly putting out his stream of dark sided Force energy.
Come on. You can do this! You can do this! Leia encouraged herself.
As the fight between them continued the war waging between her and the Emperor was draining her strength by the second. But thankfully she could see that her opponent was visibly growing weaker too.
Leia closed her eyes, preparing to gather more of the Force, hoping to use it to finish off the fight and destroy him.
Not long after closing her eyes out of nowhere there came crashing down between the two's fight a red roaring blade, breaking and ending the battle.
Leia took a step back with widened eyes.
It was her father Vader standing between his master and her now, instead of being as it had been before with just her opponent's electricity and her lightsaber between them.
Vader held his glowing red blade close to his mask, standing in front of her.
"Allow me Master to finish her." The Sith pleaded.
"No! Stand aside!" Ordered the Emperor roughly and impatiently.
"Master, please. She made me the fool and weak. Consider.. Allow me to kill her for what she has done to me."
After a few brief moments in thought the Emperor answered reluctantly. "Fine. But cause her to suffer much before ending her life.."
"Yes, my Master. Thank you. I will do as you said."
Then Vader took a step towards Leia and quickly their fight began. He had made the first move.
The fighting was more difficult than Leia had ever imagined her first true lightsaber battle would be.
Luke of course had held much back when they had practiced fighting, but her father now was being ruthless.
Still, she somehow managed to keep blocking his attacks, giving him some offensive attacks for him to shield against with his lightsaber. Trying make him unsure of what she was going to do next: an attack or block?
Leia then swiftly did a couple back flips, wanting some space between them both to try to get some words into him.
The two now stood apart in defense posture, waiting for either to make a move.
"You don't really mean that." Leia said to her father, feeling inside him emotions of worry for her and Luke as sweat glistened off her face.
"What you said to your Master. You don't want to kill me. I feel it."
Behind Vader's mask, unease and uncertainty was readable on his face.
Luke could sense the light inside of their father increasing. Once the fight had stopped between him and their father he had stood in his spot, sensing he should stay where he was.
Though now he felt it was the time to move.
The blonde man slowly started to draw near to his father, going up the steps.
"She's right, father. You're worried for her. For both of us. That's the good in you. That's Anakin."
Vader looked over at his son, lowering his blade, arms trembling.
Again the twins could see the brightness in him grow.
"You're afraid. Afraid of the torment you'll endure if you allow Anakin to return completely. " Luke compassionately spoke, saying out loud what he saw in his father's soul.
He was now very close to Leia and Vader.
"Both Leia and I saw some of what the Emperor did to you in a vision. How he threatened you with guilt to return. But you forget that you won't be alone if you do! You'll have me! You'll have Leia! We'll both be beside you to help."
The Sith's weapon was now lowered almost halfway to the ground.
"And you believe you deserve death." Leia frowned. "Part of you wants one of us to kill you and you believe you don't deserve redemption. That you're not eligible. But you are. Forgiveness and redemption is what the way of the Jedi offer."
Vader turned his head slowly to look at Leia and the princess could feel her father's gaze upon her behind his mask. She could feel that his eyes held a strong look of unease, uncertainty and sadness.
Leia smiled at him.
"Father, we love you." Leia said to Vader in a pleading tone. "You know this. Please. We want you in our lives. We need you in our lives. We forgive you. For all the terrible things you've done."
Carefully the princess then reached down underneath what she was wearing and pulled out her engagement ring.
"Look. " She said to him, holding out her ring attached to her chain for him to see.
The Sith's eyes grew big, startled by the sight, knowing full well what type of ring that was she was holding.
"I want you to be the one to walk me down the aisle on my wedding day when I marry Han. Not Luke. As much as I love my little brother, he's not my father."
Her last words with everything together that had been said by both his children had been too much for him.
After deactivating his weapon a loud wail escaped and poured out of the man's lips.
Anakin fell to his knees, guilt overwhelming him and tears streaming down his face behind his mask.
Astonishment and then joy at their father's conversion shown brightly on the twins faces.
Tears of happiness sprung up in Leia's eyes.
The sound of sobs began to pour out from Anakin, gathering his childrens attention.
"Father!" Luke and Leia shouted together in concern.
Both the twins started to run to Anakin, not thinking clearly and moved by emotion. Both moved quickly to reach him. Nearly the two were almost there together to touch him when they were both hit with a vast amount of pain that caused them to collapse to the ground.
