Astrid moaned in her sleep, the healing element taking over, restoring her, healing where the poison had threatened to kill her.
Fishlegs sighed. Sitting back on his heels he placed the bottle of antidote to one side.
"She's going to be alright." He declared to the Twins; who stood behind him, more anxious than their "cool" demeanour would allow seem.
"I'm going to say we don't tell Hiccup about this." Fishlegs added with a nervous chuckle.
"Much like the other times…." He emphasised to them, referencing the other secrets they'd been keeping from Astrid… and Astrid secrets from Hiccup.
"Oh I sis-icerly agree!" Ruff added nudging her brother.
"Oh, I for one!" Tuff continued pointing to the sky above.
"..have not the tuff-ness to confide such a matter to one Hiccup Haddock the third!"
He added with dramatic – annoying - flare. Fishleg's sighed. All most ignoring them.
"Yeah, he's a tinge too protective of her ever since they-"
Tuff interjected his sister's comments.
"Since?! He's ALWAYS been protective of our feisty, flaxen haired warrior."
"Too true!" Ruff agreed folding her arms over her chest.
"Shhh, quiet! She's coming too!" Fishleg's insisted as Astrid moaned once more and began to wake.
"Shhh, easy Astrid easy, the antidote's still working it's way through you."
"I'm fine Fishlegs." Astrid proclaimed, getting to her feet. Unsteady as she was she held her ground and wouldn't let her weakened state show.
That's Astrid.
Fishlegs thought.
Never one to show weakness…well never one to be anything more than resined to the weakness of being human. She'd never show weakness even when she felt it. She was a different kind of strong and it wasn't something to be sniped at – even if many did.
He admired her, but a part of him really did agree with the Twins. It was best they didn't tell Hiccup about just how close he'd come to losing her, again.
Yep, another secret to go in the Dragon Rider's secret keeping vault. Never to be voiced….or will they….?
