Danielle groaned as she opened her eyes. She found herself lying down in a comfortable hospital style bed in the Fenton Works labs.

She tried to sit up, but a gentle hand belonging to Clockwork pushed her back down as he said, "Easy there young one. You're still pretty weak."

She looked around to see not only Clockwork, but the smiling faces of Pandora, Nocturne, Desiree, Ghostwriter, Danny, Sam, Tucker, Mr Lancer, Jazz, Jack and Maddie.

"What happened?" She asked tiredly.

"Well….you collapsed after using your ghostly wail and we actually almost lost you." Maddie began to explain. "You were destabilising at an alarming rate that we weren't sure you were gonna make it. Until Danny gave you a ectoplasmic blood transfusion, which kept you stable until we got you back home."

"That's when I tried my latest invention, my Ecto-Dejecto which surprisingly stabilised you." Jack finished.

"So does that mean…..I won't melt?" Danielle asked with hope.

"No sweetie. You're not gonna melt. You're now 100% stable." Maddie answered.

"But why did you all help me? After everything I did, I thought you guys would be furious with me." Danielle said confused, while looking down in regret.

That's when Danny walked up to her and placed a comforting hand on her shoulder and said, "Danielle listen to me, we are not angry. Once you realised Vlad's real plans, you helped us. And you saved us all, even though it could've meant, using your powers like that would've destroyed you. You didn't abandon us, so we won't abandon you."

"You're part of the family now Danielle." Jazz said, still smiling.

"You're a brave little girl." Pandora said with pride.

"You totally kicked that fruitloop's butt!" Tucker cheered.

"You're cool in my books." Sam said, crossing her arms with a smile.

"That was incredible what you did." Mr Lancer said with wonder.

"We want you to be part of our family." Maddie said warmly.

"Please be Danny and Jazz's little sister?" Jack asked with pride.

"I'm definitely gonna write a story about you child." Ghostwriter said as he pulled out a pen and notepad.

"Welcome to our family Dani." Nocturne and Desiree both said at the same time, while hugging each other.

"Everything is the way it's supposed to be and here we are with you, a twelve year old child who managed to overcome all odds to save all of us. To save her family." Clockwork said with a warm smile.

Danielle smiled at them all and then, tears of joy began to fall from her eyes. All these ghosts and people despite everything that happened, still wanted her to be part of their family.

She nodded while wiping her eyes and said, "I….would love to be part of your family. Thank you. Thank you so much."

Mr Lancer watched as the whole family shared a group hug with each other. After a few minutes, they pulled apart and then he spoke, "And don't worry about your secret everyone. I won't tell anyone."

"Thanks Mr Lancer. I appreciate it." Danny said, shaking his hand. "And thank you so much for helping us."

"What happened to Vlad?" Danielle asked.

"He's back where he belongs. Thanks to the Observants erasing their minds, the Guys in White don't remember releasing Vlad out of the mental institution back in Wisconsin. Vlad did try to tell them they did release him, but they thought he was crazy and sent him back." Pandora answered.

"He won't hurt you Dani. Ever again." Danny said as he squeezed her hand in comfort.

"Okay everyone. I think that's enough for today. Danielle needs to rest now." Maddie said.

After saying goodbye to each other, Danny took Sam and Tucker home, Clockwork, Pandora, Nocturne, Desiree and Ghostwriter headed back home to the Ghost Zone, Jazz went upstairs to her room, Mr Lancer headed for his home and Jack headed upstairs, leaving Maddie and Danielle alone.

Danielle yawned, still feeling tired. Maddie smiled warmly and began to sing as she tucked her in,

Life is strange and vast

Filled with wonders and joy

Face each new sun

With eyes clear and true

Unafraid of the unknown

Because I'll face it all with you

With that, Danielle fell asleep once again. Maddie continued to smile warmly as she kissed her on the forehead and headed upstairs.

THREE MONTHS LATER

Everything seemed to get back to normal, only now the Fenton's now had a new addition to their family. After Ghostwriter managed to create a birth certificate for Danielle, Jack and Maddie officially adopted her and she became Danielle Fenton.

Danny's ghost family also made her feel welcomed and treated her as part of the family as well. After enrolling her at Amity Park Middle School, she occasionally went to the Ghost Zone with Danny to get some tutoring from Ghostwriter and she went there to be trained by Pandora, Clockwork and Nocturne.

As Mr Lancer promised, he kept their secret safe and when they needed to stop ghosts from attacking people, he made sure to excuse Danny from class and cover for him in case another teacher asked where he was.

Danielle truly felt loved by her new family and even attended Nocturne's and Desiree's wedding as the flower girl. And as they celebrated the union of the ghostly couple, Danielle finally felt she knew where she belonged.
