Hi Everyone. Sorry for the long wait. I've been so busy with establishing my career life. But now here is the next chapter. Hope you all enjoy.
"Luce? Luuuuce?" Lynn whispered to her younger sister in a quiet attempt to wake her. Lucy's long black hair covering her eyes made it hard to tell if she was awake, and her very pale skin made it hard to tell if she was even alive. "Are you awake?"
"I am now," the goth replied.
"Know what time it is?"
"Time to leave this nightmare before it begins."
It was the morning of April Fool's Day, a holiday greatly feared by all members of the Loud family except for master prankster, Luan. For years, the Louds have desperately tried to find ways to avoid being pranked by Luan but never succeeding. But this time they were trying something new. They had all woken up early this morning. They hoped they could survive this year by waking up before the master prankster could and hideout someplace far away and secret till the dreadful day was over.
Outside, the parents and girls were all quietly getting into Vanzilla. Once everyone present was in, they decided to do a head count.
"Okay, is everyone here?" Lynn Sr. asked.
"Everyone please say your name," Rita instructed.
"Lori!"
"Leni!"
"Luna!"
"Lynn!"
"Lucy!"
"Lana!"
"Lola!"
"Lisa!"
"Lynn Sr.!"
"Rita and here's Lily," Rita confirmed hold their youngest child in her arms. "Are we missing anyone?"
"WAIT!" Leni said anxiously. "Luan is missing!"
Everyone just stared at her with very pitying and unamused expressions on their faces.
"Are we missing anyone else?" Rita asked again.
"Wait! Where's Lincoln?" Luna said realizing they were missing someone.
"Did anyone remember to wake up Lincoln?" an irritated Lori asked. Her irritation increased when no one answered and just gave nervous and embarrassed looks.
"Well that's just great!" a frustrated Lola said sarcastically.
"Someone should go back in and get him," Lucy suggested.
"No, leave him!" Lola protested. "Luan will be too focused on him to notice the rest of us are gone."
"Lola, that's not very nice," Rita scolded. "We're all in this together. Now one of you go back into the house and get your brother."
"Dibs not it!" Lori said touching her nose. The other sisters followed suit except Leni, who had put her finger in her ear rather than on her nose.
"Dang it! Why do I always get that wrong?" Leni complained.
"I'll go with Leni to make sure nothing happens to her," Luna volunteered.
"Thanks Luna," Leni expressed her gratitude.
"Be careful you two," a concerned Rita told her daughters.
"And don't take too long," a nervous Lynn Sr. added.
Leni and Luna quietly snuck back into the house. Both teenagers were not happy to be back in the house that turns into a nightmarish prank trap once a year. The two silently and carefully snuck through the living room toward the stairs.
"Ok Leni," Luna whispered. "Now whatever you do, be very –"
POP! POP! POP! POP! POP!
"AAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHH!"
Suddenly, Luna was interrupted by loud popping noises and Leni screaming. She turned to see the panicking fashionista walking all over a sheet of bubble wrap.
"Help me, Luna! Please don't let her hurt me!" the frightened Leni cried.
"Leni! It's just bubble wrap," Luna said calming her older sister down.
"Ooooooooh!" an embarrassed Leni exclaimed looking down at the bubble wrap beneath her feet. "I knew that."
The two slowly started making their way up the stairs to the second floor. They turned and quietly started tiptoeing over to Lincoln's bedroom door.
"Bro?" Luna whispered quietly knocking on her brother's door. "Bro, you there?" No response. "Come on bro, we gotta get the heck outta dodge." When she heard nothing, the musician slowly started opening the door and sticking her head in.
SPLUNK!
"AAAAAAHHHHHH!" Leni screamed when she hear a strange noise come from Lincoln's room when Luna opened the door.
"Leni! It's alright," the drenched musician assured her frightened sister. "It was just a bucket of water."
"Oh sorry," the fashion designer apologized for her freak-out. "Should we check the other rooms?"
"I'm not looking in my room," the rocker said. "I share that room with Luan and I don't want to be in there if she is on this day."
After searching much of the upstairs, the two sisters headed back down to the living room.
"Something's not right," Luna said suspiciously. "We should be having more severe injuries than this."
"Well, I need to take a seat," a tired Leni said sitting in the living room chair.
PPPPPPPPFFFFFFFFFTTTTTTT!
The sudden sound of a flatulent noise made the 16-year-old jump out of the chair in fright.
"RUN LUNA!" the panicking fashion designer screamed. "I THINK SHE GOT ME!"
"Come down, sis," the rocker said and pointed to the chair. "Look." Sure enough, there was a whoopee cushion placed right in the middle of the seat.
"Okay, I may not be the brightest knife on the Hanukkah tree," Leni said suspiciously. "But I think Luan's pranks are not as scary as they're usually supposed to be."
"You're not alone there," Luna agreed.
The two then walked outside to inform the rest of the family who were still waiting nervously in Vanzilla.
"Where's Lincoln?" asked a concerned Lynn Jr.
"Did you find him?" Lana asked.
"We heard screaming, what happened?" a fearful Lola asked.
"Unfortunately, we didn't find our bro," Luna informed trying to calm everyone down. "As for the screaming, we set off a few pranks. However, they weren't nearly as bad as they should be."
"What do you mean?" a confused Lori asked.
"The worst we've dealt with were bubble wrap, a pail of water, and a whoopee cushion," Leni answered.
"I think Luan is being a little lazy with her pranks this year," Luna concluded.
"So does that mean it's safe to go back into the house?" Lana asked.
"Pretty much," Luna answered.
The rest of the family got out of the van and began heading one-by-one back into the house.
"So where are Lincoln and Luan?" Lynn asked.
"I don't know," Luna replied.
"Well they literally have to be around here somewhere," Lori said.
"Did anyone check Luan and Luna's room?" Lucy asked.
"I'm not going in there," Lola said with absolution.
"Okay, let's just search everywhere else," Lori suggested. "I'm literally sure Lincoln's not that stupid to be in Luan's room on this day." Lynn, Lola, and possibly Lucy gave her doubtful looks.
"The chances of our brother being that foolish are 50/50," Lisa said.
"Let's just start looking," Lori commanded.
Meanwhile, the parents were in the kitchen looking for supplies to make breakfast.
"EEK!" Rita screamed when she opened the refrigerator.
Lynn Sr. quickly ran over to his wife to make sure she was alright. However, they both calmed down after realizing it was just a rubber snake Luan had put in the fridge. The patriarch took the fake serpent out of the fridge and dropped it in the trash.
"I can't believe I'm saying this, but I'm actually feeling a little disappointed in Luan," Rita admitted. "Her pranks may be over-the-top, frightening, and hazardous but at least she puts effort into planning them."
"I know, right?" Lynn Sr. agreed. "I've never told anyone this before, but I actually have just as much fun planning how to avoid Luan's pranks as Luan plans the pranks themselves."
"Looks like this may be a very boring April Fool's Day."
Inside Luan and Luna's room, the master prankster and her protégé were watching dozens of small TV screens. Luan had secretly installed dozens of hidden cameras around the house so she and Lincoln could watch their handiwork. Luckily for them, everyone was still too scared to look in that room.
"Everything's going according to plan," Luan said with a devious grin. "Lure them into a false sense of security with the smaller pranks, and then when they least expect it, they get HIT with the REAL doozies!" Then she let out an evil laugh. She paused when she noticed her brother wasn't laugh along with her. After receiving a disappointed look from his sister, Lincoln started laughing nervously along with her. "Oooh, look!" the comedian said noticing footage of Lola and Lana in their room. "Here comes a good one."
Inside the twins' bedroom, Lana was checking on her various animal friends to make sure Luan hadn't done anything to them while Lola was inspecting her dolls for the same reason.
"Did she hurt you, Mr. Sprinkles?" the concerned pageant princess asked her beloved teddy bear before pulling it into a warm hug. "Don't worry. I won't let anything happen to you." Then she noticed a closed Jack-in-the-Box sitting on her bed. "Did she do anything to you, Jack?" she asked the toy. "Wait, I don't remember owning one of these." Suspiciously, she picked up the little box and slowly started turning the lever listening to the tune it played. Suddenly, the box popped open. But instead of a clown, a boxing glove shot out and hit the little princess square in the face sending flying across the room.
"Lola!" Lana cried coming to her twin's aid. "Lola, are you alright?"
"If I'm nominated Miss Cute-and-Mean, I will bring honor to my tiara!" the dazed 6-year-old babbled before regaining her senses. "What happened?"
"It looks like Luan got you good," her twin told her.
"Why that –!"
"Wow!" Lana said noticing something. "Looks like you're missing a couple teeth." Sure enough, the prank had knocked out one of Lola's teeth. The right tooth just beneath where her two front teeth should be.
"WHAT!?" the pageant winner exclaimed and raced over to a dresser. She opened a drawer and stuck her hand in hoping to find a mirror.
SNAP!
"AAAAAAAARRRRRRRGGGGGGGHHHHHH!" Lola screamed in pain as she pulled her hand out of the drawer. There was a mousetrap clasped on her index and middle fingers.
"What happened?" a concerned Lori asked as she and Leni burst into the twins' room.
"Luan's prank knocked out one of my teeth!" the pageant champion cried. "AND I BROKE A NAIL!"
Meanwhile, inside Luan and Luna's room, Lincoln and Luan were both watching what had just transpired.
"Looks like Lola will need to fight tooth and nail to win the next pageant!" the master prankster commented before laughing.
"Ouch!" was all Lincoln could say.
"What's going on?" Lynn asked coming out of her and Lucy's room.
"Luan got Lola with one of her pranks," Lana informed her.
"It seems she still has a few tricks up her sleeves," Lori said.
"I don't think Luan has sleeves," Leni replied. Everyone just ignored her.
"And Lincoln is still missing," Lucy said appearing behind Lynn and frightening everyone.
"Why do you always do that?!" Lola angrily yelled at her older sister.
"Sorry, it's a force of habit," the goth apologized.
"We should probably check his room," Lori suggested.
"Luna and I already did," Leni informed her.
"Maybe you didn't look hard enough."
"Well, I'm not going in there," Lola said. "Who knows what booby traps Luan could've set up in there? Besides, Lincoln's room is so messy and untidy."
"I'll go," Lynn volunteered and started walking toward her brother's bedroom door. "I know Luan's game, so I think I can expect… AAAAAAAAAGGGGGGGHHHHHHH!"
CRASH!
Suddenly, Lynn fell through the floor. A big hole had been cut in the floor that led right down into the kitchen and carefully camouflaged.
"Lynn!" the sister all exclaimed as they gathered around the hole.
"Lynn!" they heard their mother say.
"LJ, are you alright?!" their concerned father asked.
"Right above the trash can!" they heard their sister's voice. "Why do I feel that was intentional?!"
Back in Luna and Luan's room, the prankster and her brother were still watching the show.
"I don't know why Lynn would say that about me," the comedian said with a faux innocent tone. "She can be such a trash-talker!" Then she let out a few giggles at her own pun. "Get it?"
"You know, falling into a trash can from that height can have some damaging effects," a concerned Lincoln pointed out.
"You know, after all that training, I was really hoping you'd learn to appreciate the traditions of Pranksgiving," Luan told her brother in a disappointed tone.
"Come on, guys!" they heard Lori tell the other sisters. "Let's all hideout in Lisa's bunker until it's over!"
"Oooo! That should be fun," a giddy Luan said with excitement. "Well, if you're going to be a spoilsport about this, then I'll go out there and enjoy it all with a front row view," she told her brother and started walking towards the bedroom door. "You give them a pass and teach them everything you know, and they show no appreciation."
Before she opened the door, Luan looked up and saw a bucket sitting on top of the door. "Oh Linky, if this is the best you can pull against me then you haven't been taking my lessons to heart," she said in a mockingly disappointed tone. Then she stepped out of the way and opened the door letting the bucket fall to the floor.
CRASH!
However, instead of water hitting the floor and soaking the carpet, it was a huge block of cement shaped like the bucket which broke through the floor.
"WHAT THE HECK?!" Luan yelled in shock. She couldn't believe her brother would go this far. Someone could've gotten seriously hurt.
"You know, Luan," Lincoln said in a sad-sounding tone while still facing the monitors. "When you forced me to accept your deal and taught me everything you knew about pranking, I was a little ashamed. I was selling out the rest of our family to save my own skin. I thought watching them go through the traps I would have to setup would make the guilt feel even worse." Then he stopped and looked as if he had begun to cry out of remorse. However, the supposed sobbing quickly turned into maniacal laughter which made Luan nervous.
"Uh, Lincoln?" the concerned comedian asked. "Are you okay?"
"On the contrary, Luan," her brother said. Then he turned the chair around until he was facing his sister. To her shock and horror, he had an ominous and sinister grin that didn't seem natural for a boy his age and character. "I've never felt better. You were right. After those three days of learning from you, I finally understand why you do what you do on this day. I thank you teaching me everything you know, but now I feel it's my job as the student to outdo the master. So while you slept, I made a few 'modifications' to the planned pranks."
"Wait, you changed the pranks I had planned?!" the teen prankster asked in shock.
"Yes!" Lincoln replied with a creepy chuckle. "And now I will surpass you by bringing a new kind of Pranksmageddon to everyone this day, especially YOU!" He then burst into menacing spine-tingling laughter at what he had planned. His older sister cowered as he laughed. Her plan had backfired terribly. Wasting no more time, Luan bolted out the door and shut it behind her.
"That wasn't funny!" the petrified prankster nervously said to herself as she stood with her back to the door. Now that her brother had turned on her and had vowed to surpass her, Luan realized she now needed to help her family find sanctuary on this day. Irony can be a cruel and unexpected thing.
Now that Lincoln has converted over to the dark side of April Fool's Day, how will Luan protect her family from this new threat that she is responsible for?
