Hello Readers,

I hope this is the first and last preface/author's note that I have to write for this novel.

I am personally not a fan of including an A/N in my chapters because I feel it takes a way from the immersive ability that I hope my stories create for the audience. So, I will just get straight into my aims for the story:

I have uploaded a chapter after this preface - a prologue for a story that I might potentially write more of, depending on the reception it gets. For those who do read, I hope you take the time to write a review and possibly give me some 'notes' - because the first chapter is set in the 1600's, I want to make sure I have described the time period correctly, so if I have made any mistakes I hope you readers tell me so I can update the chapter to make it more accurate.

The rest of the story will be set in the present, as a 'Reboot' of the original Charmed series focusing on Prue, Piper and Phoebe as they discover their destiny as witches. As you might have already guessed, this is inspired by the recent news that the CW is rebooting Charmed, and I am even using the same location from the reboot, Hilltowne as the setting for this new series.

The series will also be set within four 'volumes' for each year of the Halliwells' lives.

For example, this story, 'The Power of Three' is also Charmed - Year One: Volume One. I plan on making four volumes for each year of the sisters lives, with up to five years of the Charmed Ones battling all forces of evil. Each volume has a different villain, with an over-arching 'Big Bad' throughout the year.

There are story lines from the original series that will also take place in this reboot, most of which will have a different twist to them to fit the new stories.

For those who are interested, here is a full synopsis of the series.

Charmed - Year One: Volume One

"The Power of Three"

Returning to their childhood home after the death of their Grandmother, three sisters, Prue, Piper and Phoebe Halliwell discover they are the Charmed Ones: the most powerful good witches in the world. Unlocking the chest to the magical Book of Shadows, the Halliwell sisters learn how to cast spells, create potions and access their unique ability to use the Power of Three to fight the forces of evil.

Prue, the eldest Halliwell, has the power of telekinesis and can move objects at will. Quick witted and sharp of tongue, Prue doesn't show her soft side that often except to her fiancee Rodger and her sister Piper. After discovering her magical abilities, Prue begins to feel torn between her destiny as a witch and her normal life as she plans her wedding and reunites with her detective, ex-boyfriend Andy.

Piper has the power of molecular immobilisation but struggles to control her ability to freeze objects. As the middle sister, Piper is often the mediator between her sisters. Caring but never naive, Piper finds herself worrying if she is truly a good person after discovering she is a witch and wants nothing but to have a normal life with her sisters and her boyfriend Jeremy, but fears he won't accept her destiny.

As the youngest Halliwell, Phoebe is seen as reckless with no sense of the future. However, she in fact has the power of premonitions and uses her gift to help find innocents in need of saving. Out of the three sisters, Phoebe is the one who enjoys witchcraft the most, discovering the Book of Shadows in the attic of her home. She returns to Hilltowne to make peace with her sisters after abandoning them after the death of their Grandmother.

Through life changes, practising Wicca and sisterly bonding, Prue, Piper and Phoebe Halliwell also must put aside their differences to capture an unknown fiend in Hilltowne who murders practising witches.

I hope this is a decent synopsis for the first volume of the series. This volume is inspired by many of the season one plot lines, but also includes story lines that are fit for the new era of readers. My wish is that you enjoy reading the prologue and would like to read more, so please review!
