Getting a New Pet for the Sunset

Sunset is seen hanging out with her friends at the park as they are having fun with their pets: Applejack is playing with her dog Winona running around together. Rarity is carefully brushing the soft white fur of her cat Opalescence, or Opal for short, as she purrs of the relaxing brushing her owner is giving her. Fluttershy is feeding carrots to her pet bunny Angel as he enjoys them though kinda hope she would stop cuddling him so much as it ignores him a bit. Rainbow Dash is dragging her skateboard with her pet tortoise she named Tank as he is wearing a little helmet for his head and Rainbow Dash shouts in excitement of the time they are having. Twilight is having a blast with her two pets, her dog Spike and her owl named Owlowiscious, they're playing fetch which is strange because Twilight the one fetching the stick as Spike and Owlowiscious take turns throwing it, then Twilight throws the stick for them to fetch. Pinkie Pie is playing with her pet small toothless green alligator she named Gummy because he has no teeth, she is laying her belly on the grass and Gummy just standing there emotionless as Pinkie leans her ear close to him and just laughs almost like she mind his mind about a joke. "Pinkie-Dinkie weird, though it would be nice if my Equestria Girls counterpart could have a real pet Gummy than stuffy one." Pinkie said to the author.

Yeah, that would be nice and crazy at the same time. Maybe her parents didn't like her having a dangerous pet in the house.

"I guess that makes sense, but enough about me. Let focus back on Sunset." Pinkie suggested.

Sunset smiles feeling happy for her friends spending time with their pets and trusty companions to be there for them, most of the time, she couldn't help but let out a sigh wondering what it would be like to have a pet of her own though she never thought about it much. Her thoughts were interrupted when she felt a stick hit her on the head as it was thrown by Twilight herself.

"Oh, sorry about that, Sunset!" Twilight apologized running to her friend with her pets.

"It's okay, it only hurt a little. No biggie." Sunset shrugged and gave the stick back.

"Are you feeling okay, you seem to be down?" Twilight asked out of concern for her friend.

"It's nothing serious to worry about." Sunset assured.

"Maybe Flash isn't giving you enough love-making time?" Pinkie popped between the two spooking them.

"No, Flash has given us-I mean me plenty of that. I was just thinking about something else." Sunset said.

"Thinking about what?" Fluttershy asked curious noticing the conversation the three are having.

"It's nothing, I just thinking about… what our senior year will be like." Sunset mentioned.

"Oh yes, the final year of our high school days which will come with harder tests and more advance studies that I have come prepared for." Twilight bragged.

"I'm looking forward to throwing a Senior party, I'll be sure to make it extra fun times 20!" Pinkie excited.

"Just make sure not to make it too extra fun like what you did with that Senior citizen party last year on spring." Sunset reminded her party-loving friend.

"I know, don't remind me. I was grounded for one month of no partying, it was awful!" Pinkie scared remembering those dark times.

"Well, I'm sure everything will turn out great as long as we're together to get through them." Fluttershy smiled and Angel gave her a thumb up.

"Yeah, great…" Sunset chuckled a little, still thinking about her friends' pets and the fun they're having.

(Later, Shimmer House)

Sunset and Celestia are seen having dinner together eating green sauce mac and cheese, Celestia got the idea from having green sauced pasta from a restaurant she had yesterday while hanging out with some friends, and it turn out great as the newest flavor explodes in her mouth. However, tonight's dinner doesn't seem to be going well as she notices her daughter is in deep through barely touching her food and looking down with a slightly sad thought.

"Sunset, are you okay? You got three bites of your dinner." Celestia asked.

"Oh, well… I just was thinking about stuff." Sunset shrugged.

"Stuff that is making you hungry to eat your food?" Celestia raised an eyebrow.

Knowing that she wouldn't fool her mother as it's in their nature to know something is wrong with their children, so Sunset decided to just tell her mother what she's been thinking about since her time with her friends and the pets.

"When I was hanging out with my friends, they were playing with their pets and just watching made me feel like there's a part missing inside. I think it might be because… I want to have a pet of my own." Sunset explained.

"I see, come to think of it. You used to have the idea of wanting to have a pet when you were a little girl." Celestia mentioned.

"I did?" Sunset wondered.

"Yes, you felt a little lonely whenever your father and I were out at our work, seeing you sad when we come home made us feel like sad. That was when your father had the idea of getting you a pet so you wouldn't feel sad anymore." Celestia nodded.

"Oh, that's right. I remember dad mentioning it to me and I felt very happy about getting my own, I couldn't decide of what animal to get either a dog or a cat." Sunset recalled giggling.

"Yes, we were planning on going together… until your father's death." Celestia mentioned sadly.

"Oh, when he died, I didn't go to the pet store nor did I ever thought about getting my pet anymore. I guess the sadness must have blocked that memory." Sunset realized.

"We were both sadden by that day, his passing hurt us more than we realize though we did find some happiness along the way. We even found one who was able to bring more happiness than we ever felt before!" Celestia smiled, mentioning Flash.

"Yeah, I never thought we would have an open relationship with my own mother. It was the craziest experience I've ever been through, but it was one I never regret and felt more closer to you than ever. It was like Flash had a power to draw others together." Sunset complimented as her cheeks blush.

Flash and Fluttershy look to the front door seeing their fellow high school students and friends, Lyra and Sweetie Drop the two lovers of Canterlot High.

"Flash, long time no see!" Lyra smiled, giving the blue-haired boy a hug.

"Didn't think we were expecting to see you again before the new school year started." Sweetie Drop said.

"Well, I didn't have anything else to do, so I thought about checking on how our friends are doing and Fluttershy to me asking for volunteering work." Flash explained.

"Same can be said about us, we wanted to see what is like have help with the animals." Sweetie Drop explained as well.

"Don't make this is a competition like you did with the entrance Friendship Game audition." Flash laughed making the duo smile nervous.

"Oh, come on, it wasn't that bad." Lyra protested.

"You did all sorts of contests like structure making, baking, painting, karate chopping some bricks, dancing, arm wrestling Bulk, ripping a phone book, eating contest, and there was even the last part with you two wearing those silly costumes." Flash listed laughing of how competitive those two were.

"Okay, maybe we went a bit overboard." Sweetie Drop admitted.

"But we learn to not let something like that get to us again, and we both ended up getting into the Friendship Games." Lyra smiled.

"Those times were good, especially when we faced Crystal Prep back when we used to hate each other." Fluttershy remembered how the two schools would go at each other's throats through the competition.

"But everything worked out in the end, the two schools became close friends as such how the Games was meant to be and even got Twilight to become a Wondercolt." Flash nodded.

"Oh yeah, that was a memory."

"Sunset!" Flash surprised.

The four turns to see Sunset and Celestia entering the animal shelter together.

"Hey guys, hope you don't mind we come here." Sunset said.

"Not at all, so what can I do you for?" Fluttershy asked.

"We're here to pick a pet for Sunset to play with, like how you and the other have with your own pets." Celestia answered.

"Oh, so I was right about what you were feeling yesterday!" Fluttershy excited smiling.

"Yep, it was something I wanted when I was a kid but never got the chance since my dad's death. Better late than never." Sunset said, turning to Fluttershy.

"So, care to help me find my pet?" Sunset asked.

"I thought you never ask!" Fluttershy squealed, leading Sunset to the animals.

"Oh, I just know there's a perfect animal for you somewhere!" Fluttershy said.

A gerbil came running up to Fluttershy upon seeing her exciting with its squeak, Fluttershy picks it up and pet it on the back.

"They're just so cuddle, gerbils are so cute! Don't you think so, Sunset?" Fluttershy asked.

"Uh, not for me. Maybe something a little less furry." Sunset said, to seeing a gerbil as the ideal pet for her.

Fluttershy thought of something and an idea came to her, leading Sunset to the fish section.

"How about a fish, no fur at all, and this one has beautiful fins!" Fluttershy recommend, showing Sunset the fish that has the color as her hair.

But Sunset doesn't feel any spark to it at all, even the fish doesn't seem to be interested with the girl as well.

"I don't know, it would be cool to hold my pet." Sunset stated.

"Kinda like how Celestia is picky with the cakes." Flash grinned.

"This is different young man, you're lucky we're not in school otherwise I would have made you clean the toilet for the day." Celestia remarked and ruffing his hair.

"So, what animal are you looking for exactly?" Lyra asked curious.

"I'm not sure, maybe one that I can a connection to it." Sunset said.

Fluttershy did a few seconds of thinking, asking her of what would be the perfect pet for Sunset Shimmer since she never had a pet of her own even in childhood. Sunse said that she wants a pet that doesn't have fur, something to hold in her hands, not too big like a dog and not too small like a mouse, then an idea pops in her head finally decided on what animal is perfect for Sunset.

"I know just the animal!" Fluttershy proclaimed.

She led the others to the reptile area where they see all kinds like lizards, snakes, turtles as Sunset looks at them definitely feeling something from them but not completely. That is when Sunset saw one leopard gecko standing on a rock.

"Hey there, little guy." Sunset greeted the gecko as it looks back at her.

Once they made eyes contact to each other, Sunset's heart suddenly burst of happiness and seeing a golden glowing aura around the black-spotted gecko as it seems to smile back at her.

"Well, aren't you just a little ray of sunshine!" Sunset giggled and look back at her mom.

"Mom, can I take this one?" Sunset asked.

"If you feel a strong bond with that little gecko, then you may keep it. But remember that this pet is your responsibility, making sure you take care with his health and feed him enough food as well." Celestia stated.

"I will, I promise." Sunset nodded and look to Fluttershy with a happy expression.

"I'll take him!" Sunset said, making Fluttershy move with tears.

(Later)

The Mane 7 and Flash are seen together in the park as Fluttershy is setting up the camera to take a group pet picture, the owners are happy for their pets getting along and behaving well for the picture, but Sunset's new pet gecko is standing a little far from the group as it feels nervous.

"Oh, don't worry sweetie, you can scoot in a little." Fluttershy said.

Sunset decided to help her pet gecko with some encouragement lowing her hand for him to climb on and lifting him up to eye-level.

"It's okay, Ray. I'll take care of you, promise." Sunset said as Ray, the gecko's name, snuggles on her cheek.

"And I'm here to help out too, I hope we get along great." Flash petted Ray with a finger on the head which the gecko enjoys and smiles at Flash, meaning he likes him as much as Sunset.

Sunset put Ray down back with the group. Just as Fluttershy is about to take the picture, Angel hops on Spike's head making Owlowiscious scare a little flipping his wings though the other pets gather closer and the picture is taken.

(With Shimmer House, Sunset's Room)

Sunset looks like the copy of the picture smiling with Flash wrapping his arms around her waist, and they're both naked sitting on her bed.

"That sure is a good picture, glad you found yourself a good pet." Flash said kisses her cheek.

"Thank you, I'm glad Ray have made himself comfy in his new home." Sunset looked at her little ray sleeping peaceful in his glass cage.

"How about we do another celebration of finding your new companion, just the two of us." Flash whispered into Sunset's ear making her moan, one hand is groping her left breast while the other one is rubbing on her pussy making her legs cross each other.

I have decided to make a fun chapter of Sunset getting her own pet like in the cartoon show though a little different, but I thought about making Sunset wanting a pet because of her father's idea though never got the chance because of his death. Now Sunset finally got the pet that is just for her and naming him Ray as in the "Ray of Sunshine" bringing her light besides Flash's love, of course. Just thought it would be nice doing this taking a little break from the sex chapters, but that will come back soon in the next chapter and more!
