Really, I'm sorry for not updating. Those who are still here from the beginning, I really appreciate. I'll try my best to write and update as I can.

No, seriously, I'm sorry. I'll try to balance my life out right now, and make time for fanfiction.

~Previously on Dragon Scales~

"Annnnnnnd time's up!" Mato raised his hands, and the three were transported back. "Ayuna of Dragon's Temptation got 3rd place, with 6 points! Erza of Fairy Tail gets 2nd place, with 8 points! And Luna of Dragon Scales gets 1st place, with 10 points!" Luna shot a smile at her guild, and Lucy gave a small smile back.

~Lucy's POV~

"Lucy!" A sharp scream broke my hearing. I rubbed my ears.

"Luna! Can you not shout so loud?!" I grumbled. I feel like her screams are getting louder and louder.

"Did you see that? Did you see that?! I won! I won!" I slapped my hand over her mouth.

"Shut up and quit repeating the same two sentences over and over." As if on cue, Kanu and the others arrived.

"Luna! You won!" Kanu embraced her in a hug. They talked and laughed when Luna noticed I was staring at her. She then saw that they were still hugging, so she blushed and pushed him away.

"Well, then, shouldn't we go rest?" Luna coughed, looking away. Kanu chuckled, thinking that she was really cute just then. How do I know? Part poison dragon, remember? I think I've got a new ship.

Soon though, we'd have to fight the other guilds.

~Timeskip: 5 minutes~

"Now that the special event is over, we'll start the battles between the guilds!" The crowd erupted as the list appeared. 'Fairy Tail vs Lamia Scale; Mermaid Heel vs Quatro Cerberus; Blue Pegasus vs Sabertooth; Dragon Scales vs Dragon's Temptation,' I looked at my guild members. They looked grim, not wanting to go against them for the first battle. Unlike us, they're showing their real magic, but claiming it as dragon slaying magic instead of being an actual dragon. We looked at each other, our eyes debating which person to send.

"Mizuki is coming from Dragon's Temptation! What about Dragon Scales?" We looked at Mizuki, the moon dragon.

"Kanu, I want you to go up," I looked at him.

"What? Why?!" He looked at me wildly.

"Oh! It seems Kanu of Dragon Scales is fighting! Lyon of Lamia Scale is going against Gray of Fairy Tail! Wonder how that is going to go! Miliana of Mermaid Heel is going against Semmes of Quatro Cerberus! Eve of Blue Pegasus against Rufus of Sabertooth!" Chapati shouted. I silently chuckled when I heard that Gray was going against Lyon. I really do wonder how that'll go.

"Now, what we'll do this year, is to have a drawing of who will go in order! We'll have a lacrima, once we press the button, it will randomly choose which guilds will fight(So basically each guild listed to fight each other are one group, and if their group is chosen, they will fight)!"

"Let's hope we're not first," Kanu muttered. I gave him a glare.

"It's better to get this over with, right?" I looked back at the drawing. He put his hand in, and a few moments later, he pulled it out, lacrima in hand. The crowd held their breath.

"And the guilds that would be going against each other are…"

"Fairy Tail vs Lamia Scale!" I breathed a quick sigh of relief. The crowd cheered as Gray and Lyon stepped out into the arena. They both waved. I gave a glance to Juvia, wondering who she'll cheer on. She just stared, an empty look on her face, yet even from here, I feel like she was probably cheering for Gray.

~Narrator's POV~

Gray stepped out, walking steadily toward Lyon. Gray's blood was boiling. The scene from yesterday repeated over and over in his head(Yeah, he's kinda in a yandere mode right now, just less killing and more beating up) and his blood boiled. The way she calls Lyon's name just fueled him with anger!

"Let the match begin!" The pumpkin yelled.

"Ice-make: Ice Hammer!" A large hammer came from above, and Lyon jumped, narrowly avoiding it.

While jumping to the side, he put his hands in position and shouted, "Ice-make: Eagle!" Multiple eagles zoomed toward Gray, and he jumped to the side. Lyon sent more eagles, and they slammed into Gray's side.

"F*&k!" He glared at Lyon, putting his hands looked at him with malice.

"So, Gray. You jealous?" Lyon smirked, satisfied from seeing him get jealous. Gray's eyes snapped open, and he growled.

"Shut up! Ice Make: Saucer!" He released a large spinning disk made out of ice and threw it towards him.

"Ice Make: Puffer Fish!" A puffer fish made out of ice was created, and attempted to throw itself at Gray, but the disk cut straight through it.

"Shit!" He realized it was coming at him fast, and he wouldn't have another time to make another attack. He quickly dived to his right, then did a forward roll and landed back in a crouching position.

"You know, I was wondering what you did to Juvia that made her hate you so much. Even now, she still glances at you from afar you know." Gray's eyes perked up. He thought to himself, 'Do I still have a chance?' Gray shook his head. That's not what's importent.

"Shut up! If you want to know so bad, ask her yourself!" Lyon let out a hearty laugh. Suddenly, he glared at Gray.

"I do know. That you kicked Lucy out. How Juvia was upset because all of you insulted Lucy and pushed her away. Even though everyone is 'family' in Fairy Tail. Do you have any explanation for yourself?" Gray froze up. He remembered that day when Juvia screamed at him, marking him as one of those people who pushed their cherished friend away. A family member. He didn't even remember why he did that. It was like it was someone else saying those words.

"I…"Gray didn't know how to respond back. Lyon stared at Gray, who's eyes clouded out, and his head had slowly begun to drift downwards. Lyon sighed, and walked up to him. Gray, who's mind was clouded with thought, didn't realize that Lyon was next to him until it was too late.

"YOU BETTER APOLOGIZE TO LUCY, YOU F#&KER!" Lyon uppercutted Gray, and his torso half twisted before he fell on the ground on his stomach.

"What the-! God, that hurt!" He looked up and glared at Lyon. Lyon looked down at him, and scoffed.

"Just to let you know, I'm dating Meredy, and I'm not interested in Juvia. As long as you apologize to Lucy and she forgives you, Juvia might forgive you." Lyon turned around. "I'm forfeiting the fight!" The crowd suddenly started whispering.

"Eh? Why's he forfeiting?"

"Was it because they were talking earlier?"

"But he could have beat Gray right there after the uppercut!"

"But why would he forfeit? What were they talking about?"

Lyon walked out of the stadium, and Gray continued to sit on the floor, dazed with what happened.

"Well, this was an unexpected turn of events! After Lyon uppercutted Gray, he forfeits! I wonder what they were talking about there," Chapati mused. "But Gray of Fairy Tail takes wins!" Though the crowd was confused, they began clapping and cheering. Gray finally snapped out of his thoughts and stood up. He waved at the crowd, then began to walk out of the area.

"Yeah, I definitely need to apologize to Lucy. I doubt she would take any type of excuse. But why did I blame her and kick her out?" Gray pondered to himself. Now that he thought about it, in that time period his mind had been fuzzy, and he couldn't remember small details from those days. He remembered how after Juvia screamed at him, it seemed like his mind became cleared, and some burden was lifted off.

Lucy stared down at the arena with her arms crossed, staring at Lyon and Gray.

"He seems like he regrets it, huh. Apologize to me?" She looked at Gray, who was now getting up. A small smile grew on her lips. She turned around and walked away from the view. The cheers grew softer and softer, until all she could hear were the light thumps on the velvet carpet.

"Hm."

I really want to apologize for the year of not updating. The chapter came out today because half of it was already written around December, but then I didn't know how to continue. I'm going to try to find a way to go around the unimportant fights by using other important events going on.

Thank you for those who have been patient and have been waiting. I really appreciate it. Yesterday, I realized that months ago, I had so many ideas for fanfictions around NaLu to write, so I think I'll continue to write after this is done.

Stay safe everyone, and make sure to wear a mask.
