Hey there Gears and welcome back to COG of the Clone Wars!

Now this chapter might be short due to me needing to make the deadline today, but I will make the next chapter extra long to make up for it, however I will need two rotations to do so.

other than that I do hope you guys enjoy the chapter!

Act 2-Chapter 4: Hunting season

It's been roughly a month now since the Republic Senate meeting and in all honesty nothing has changed other than the view people see us. I couldn't really care, but the points I stated at the Senate are nothing but the truth of what the Republic and CIS are doing with the war going on. Regardless we just keep doing what we do best and we'll have no problems.

Recently there have been reports of people going missing, and from what I can gather it's been narrowed down to a few things. Slavery, simple kidnapping or something worse I have yet to see. As of now the COG fleet has been spread throughout the galaxy to narrow down possible locations of the kidnappers, we were also on the verge of one of the fronts between the Republic and the Separatists.

I was currently in my personal quarters going through the number of people who vanished, and it seems like these kidnappers aren't too picky when it comes to races. However I did come across something that got my attention. Felucia, we weren't far off from one of the fronts in the Clone war, I then checked the star chart and saw that we were also near a Trandoshan moon

'Wait a minute…Trandoshan'. I thought to myself as I then began a check of all the missing people and it all fit together. 'Padawan lost'. I thought to myself as I then set the files down and began walking out of my quarters knowing what's coming and I have to act fast.

"Baird you at R&D?" I radioed.

"Yea been here all morning, what's up?" He asked me.

"Something has come up and it requires my attention, how are those cloaking modules coming along?" I asked.

"Still need some fine tuning but if need be I can get it done today. Why?"

"The Disappearances, I found where they're going to be and this is something that needs to be done by a lone Gear. A squad will draw too much attention". I answered.

"I'll get to work on it now, knowing you you'd want it as soon as you're out the door". He sighed.

"You know me too well Baird". I chuckled as I cut the line and made my way to the Armoury and began to load myself up on what I'll be bringing.

As an obvious choice would be the Lancer, but now we have the MK.3 Lancer in the armoury now so it's a clear upgrade. The old reliable Snub Pistol and of course a new weapon that was designed by yours truly, the new weapon was a side option to the iconic Longshot.

This new weapon I dubbed the Deadshot, this variation was magazine fed and able to hold 4 rounds before needing a reload, it functions much like its older counterpart. But the trade-off it's a little weaker than the Longshot but it has a better rate of fire than its older cousin. Using the standard cartridges on the Deadshot actually jammed the weapon on a normal reload and needed to use smaller rounds but never sacrificing the headshot capabilities like the Longshot.

These rifles are an option for those who would want to get a feel for the Longshot, without the huge recoil dislocating your shoulder am I right?

After I had loaded my weapons and gathered all the ammo I needed for them I grabbed my helmet on my way out and then made my way to R&D to check up on Baird. As I walked in I was greeted with several DeeBee parts, weapon pieces and various other tools and equipment around the room.

"I know this might be moot but, ever heard of spring cleaning Baird?" I asked my fellow Delta as he looked up at me.

"With all the shit I'm making for us it's kinda hard. Plus I've just gotten to the point where it's not my main priority". He answered.

"Can't fault ya on that". I shrugged. Baird then held what I assumed to be the Module I came in here for.

"Now, the cloak will keep you hidden for a full total of 4 minutes with minimal movement with the modifications I made, however running and rolling will only keep you hidden for roughly a minute and a half". He explained as I turned around and he began to install it into my Onyx Gold armour. "The recharge time on this is quite long, 2 minutes to be precise so you better use it sparingly".

"Trust me, Tech like this I use properly. Tech like this with your modifications? The COG wishes they could make as good". I chuckled.

"Alright it's all set give a try". He said to me as I pressed a button on my wrist pad and next thing I know I vanished from sight. I looked at my hands and saw that I could still see them but in a transparent blue. This was meant to show that I could still see my body while still being able to be unseen by enemies. I deactivated the cloak and nodded in confirmation.

"Also deactivating the cloak manually will shorten the recharge time, so be sure to turn it off when you don't need it". Baird added.

"Thanks that Baird, they'll never see me coming I'll be back soon. Dom's in charge until I get back. See ya soon". I said farewell as I put my helmet on and walked out of R&D and made my way towards the Hanger. I saw several Ravens going through a retrofit and taking the jet thrusters off them to use them to make new aircraft. Realising that they weren't needed I ordered all Ravens to be reverted back to their Helicopter selves and using the thrusters on a new dropship that is being created to help put reduce the amount of Ravens lost in exospheric environments.

I mean the UNSC had both Falcons, Nightingales for helicopters and Pelicans for their Dropships.

I had walked over to one of the bays and in it was my own personal fighter, that which resembled the Hovership in Ratchet Gladiator…yea I had a PS2 before I got an Xbox and I always did like the Hovership in that game.

"Jack". I said as the bot had uncloaked. "Hop on in and we'll set out". I said a she beeped in response and had slotted himself in the top of the ship and was sealed in a secret compartment, I stored my weapons behind my seat and the cockpit closed and powered up the fighter. I then flew out of the hanger and punched in the coordinates for one of the Trandoshan moons.

'Hang in there Ahsoka…I'm comin'. I thought to myself as the fighter jumped into Hyperspace.

I had arrived in the system and saw the moon that most likely had Anakin's Padawan. I accelerated towards the planet and began to break through the atmosphere, when I reached the skies I performed a planetary scan and found a structure nearby and it came up in a holographic image, and it was the same as in the episode.

"There you are". I said to myself as I flew towards the structure and was closing in on an island. This was merely a hunting lodge so I doubt they'd be expecting a ship to be here, however I flew in low and landed on the beach, it was nightfall so I had better cover with the black on my armour. I took my weapons out from behind the seat and sealed the cockpit shut, I typed a few commands on my wrist pad and cloaked the ship with the same tech as the module I have in my armour.

Thank you Baird.

"Now all I have to do is find them". I muttered as I pulled my lancer off my back and cocked it before trekking through the forest and into the hunting grounds.

After a good 10 minutes of walking through the forest I had no luck in finding the group of Padawans but I did hear the sounds of an engine in the distance and raced towards the beach on another side of the island and to my luck I saw the familiar ship hover over the beach, guess the habit of being early pays off. I then saw the ship unload its captives and one of them just so happens to be Ahsoka, the ship then began shooting the captives gunning a few of them down as the rest ran into the forest past me as I followed Ahsoka and activated my cloak.

She navigated through the jungle easily but due to my more bulky stature it was a little difficult but I was managing, I then looked ahead and saw the three other Padawans had found Ahsoka and she began to follow them with me not too far behind. As I did follow them my cloak ran out and saw them climb up a tree where their camp was I climbed up myself but it was a little difficult but not impossible. As I got to the top I began walking across the huge trunk getting the Padawan's attention.

"Hey! Who are you?!" The Twi'lek demanded as he and the others got ready to fight, except Ahsoka who was more than glad to see me.

"Terra! Boy am I glad to see you here". She said with a relived smile.

"Ahsoka we gotta stop meeting like this, people are gonna talk". I chuckled as she merely just rolled her eyes in amusement.

"Ahsoka do you know this thing?" The Girl asked her.

"Hey I take offense to that!" I said as I took my helmet off shocking them that I was human, and not too much older than them. "What were you expecting?" I smiled which snapped them out it. "Regardless, my name is General Terra. You are?" I asked them.

"Kalifa, this is Jinx and O-mer. Guess you got captured too huh?" She asked me which made me scoff.

"Hell no. I came here investigating disappearances throughout the systems and it led me here". I stated which shocked them.

"You mean to tell me that you have a ship?" O-mer asked with a hint of hope that he and the other two shared.

"I do, but it's merely a Starfighter. However I can call the Coalition to send a team our way and they'll come running". I stated to them. "Listen, I understand that I wasn't what you expected in terms of a rescue party, but if you lot follow me to my ship we can get started". I said as I put my helmet on and gestured them to follow.

We trekked through the jungle and had made it to the beach where my ship had uncloaked and the cockpit opened up. I hopped in and began setting up a distress call. However there was a problem.

"That's not good". I said.

"What is it?" Jinx asked me.

"The signal won't work". I replied and saw that I was really out of range of any COG ship or receiver. 'I didn't think I was that far out in the system. No matter, I need to keep the ship safe while I deal with the trash'. I thought to myself as I got out of the fighter. "Jack". I said as the little bot emerged from my ship shocking the Padawans. "Be a lad and keep the ship safe. We're going to be here a while". I instructed as he nodded in response as he slotted himself back in and cloaked the ship.

"Well, since calling for help isn't something I can possibly do. The next best thing is to go on the offensive". I stated.

"Many other Jedi younglings had the same mindset as you and they paid the price". Kalifa responded.

"Yes but you forget Kalifa, I'm not a Jedi". I said simply. "Tomorrow we'll give those lizards a taste of their own medicine. Right now let's get some rest". I said to them as they didn't seem to argue with me as Kalifa took the lead and we made our way back to their camp.

These Trandoshan bastards are going to regret their action in a few hours, they may have hunted many species and Jedi…but they've never hunted a Gear. And their roll of hunter…won't last much longer.

Well there we have it, and next time we go hunting for the final chapter of Act 2. Now Gears tactics comes out tomorrow but since I'm in Australia it might be an extra day due to being 24 hours ahead of the U.S and I will definitely be getting more inspiration from that with the amount of features it has. Now I will make the final chapter for Act 2 and leave it there before coming back to it since there are other stories that need attention. But anyway I do hope you guys enjoyed this chapter, even though it was kinda bare bones how I see it, but be sure to leave me your thoughts on the story as a whole in the review section. A bit of feedback can go a long way.

So until then, I'll see ya next time!
