Chapter 9
"But we already have our morphers." Trent commented.
"Not for us, for them." Tommy gestured to Jason and the others.
"How are you so sure these Dino Gems are still there?" Jason questioned crossing his arms. "As you can see a lot of things are different from your world."
"But it was my research into morphing energy that first allowed me to find them and like you said there's not been any Power Rangers after us so it's a big chance these gems are still there." Tommy replied.
"But there are only four points of origin. There were five gems, where's the fifth?" Ethan questioned looking at the big screen.
"Unfortunately, the White Dino Thunder Ranger Gem was found by Messogaug so I don't know where that one was found. But beggars can't be choosers, four out of five is better than none." Tommy replies as he pats Trents shoulder and walks back over to his team.
"Four gems and four Rangers." Kira smiles.
"Three." Billy replied. "Believe me, if I still had the use of my legs I would love to fight again. But I just can't."
"Don't worry Billy, you've done more than enough. You held on to your power coin longer than all of us." Jason said trying to be reassuring.
"Yeah, and all it cost was my legs.." Billy spoke sounding more depressing than he intended.
"Why did Drakkon steal y'alls power coins?" Ethan asked.
"Drakkon discovered a way to corrupt and mass produce the power coins. He hands them out to all of his soldiers." Jason answered.
"How did Aisha get one?" Kira asked.
"Oh that was just a costume we made up. My cousin Tanya is crazy good with that kinda stuff." Aisha answered.
"Guys." Zack interrupted. "I think I know a guy that might be willing to fight but... he might have an issue." Zack looked over to Tommy. "With you.."
"Like Tommy said, 'beggars can't be choosers'." Kim replied.
"Just don't look at me when he tries to tear your head off and show it to you." Zack sighs hands Tommy a black mask. "Put this on, last thing we want is for you aggro everybody." He begins to lead them.
Later in the hallway outside of the training room the former Rangers and present Rangers gathered. "You sure you can do this, Tommy?" Kira asked visibly nervous.
"I use to spare with him all the time, I'm pretty sure I can still take him." Tommy said not sweating it as he walked through the entrance.
There is a man training by himself, practicing his martial arts forms with a staff.
"Rocky." Tommy calls out to see the man turning to see him. Tommy takes off the mask and is taken back by the look of shock then rage as Rocky suddenly charges at him swinging his staff down at Tommy. Tommy blocked it barely but was unable to block Rocky's kick that sent him back into the wall. "Okay, maybe this was gonna be a bit harder than I thought." Tommy said to himself as he picked himself up and got into a fighting stance. "Rocky, I know what you're thinking but I am not Drakkon. I'm-"
"A dead man!" Rocky shouted as he leaped in the air, spinning to bring down a powerful kick that Tommy caught and used to his advantage. Tommy swung Rocky down with his leg then spun around to get him in a headlock.
Rocky thrashed trying to free himself as Tommy fought to hold him. "Listen to me! I am Tommy Oliver from another reality! We were friends!"
Rocky elbowed Tommy savagely over and over in the side till he could weasel out of the headlock. "Friends? You're a monster! You took everything! My Dad, my Mom, Kathrine! You killed my girlfriend in front of me! I want to see you die!" Rocky charged at Tommy blind with rage. Tommy felt ashamed for all of this world's Tommy's actions, he didn't fight back as Rocky landed blow after blow on him. Rocky had every right to hate him.
"Tommy!" Kira screamed as she tried to run to him but was stopped by Aisha and Kim. Tommy reached for his morpher.
"White Dragon Power!" Tommy shouted as he morphed then spin kicked Rocky flinging him back against the wall.
Rocky got up to fight again but paused as he looked at the Ranger before him. Similar to Drakkon in a way but also very different. "You- you're not Drakkon?"
"I'm here to help save your world and put an end to Drakkon, but we need your help. Do you think you have what it takes to be a Power Ranger?" Tommy said as he helped Rocky up then powered down putting his mask back on.
The others make there way into the room.
"Are we done fighting now?" Kim joked to defuse the tension.
"Kimberly? You're alive?" Rocky stood in surprise but it connected. "Oh, right. Different dimension."
"It's still great to see you." She hugs him.
"So how can I help?" Rocky asked Jason as he stands at attention as a soldier.
Jason looks over to Tommy. "That's all him. It's his plan."
"We have a shot at making a new team of Power Rangers to take the fight to Drakkon." Tommy spoke. "We need fighters worthy to of the Gems power."
"Count me in." Rocky answers without a pause.
"Awesome! Looks like we got this in the bag!" Connor exclaims slamming his fist into his opposite hand.
"I can start working on building housings for the new Gems." Billy adds.
"So we know where the gems are and we have people to use them, but how do we get to them? Your coordinates show these gems are several days drive from us if not week. We don't have that kind of time." Jason questioned.
"I think I have just the thing to get you guys there." Billy replied as he turns to leave the room. He made his way back to the area that was being rebuilt. There is a tarp with small bits of rubble on it, Billy takes the corner of the tart and pulls it away revealing an old car."This can get you guys there in no time."
Tommy pulls up the mask. "The Radbug."
"There's no way I'm riding in a Slugbug. Radbug? Seriously?" Connor scoffed. "That name sounds soo lame."
Kimberly slapped his shoulder at his scoffing. "It was the nineties."
"Great, we pop over get those gems and pop back. Easy." Aisha exclaimed.
"It's not going to be as easy as you'd think." A Blue Guard walks into room. Tommy quickly pulls down the mask before he could be seen. "Who are you?" The Blue Guard questioned.
Jason moved in front of Tommy. "He's a deep informant, his identity is on the need to know. What's your report?"
"Glad I was able to find you, Jason." He removes his helmet to reveal his face. TJ a former Ranger in Tommy's dimension stood before him. "I just came back from my recon and it looks like Drakkon has put up another tracking tower."
"Meaning?" Aiysha asked.
"It means slipping out of Angel Grove to hunt for the gems just got even harder." Billy replied with a grim expression. "With the towers he had already it was going to be a 50 to 1 chance of making it out undetected... but now?
The group stood quiet.
"What if we slip in and deactivate the towers temporarily?" Tommy spoke up.
"Not possible. The control room is under constant control everyone gets scanned and checked. Everyone except Drakkon, of course." TJ replied. "Getting into the castle is one thing, getting in that room is impossible without getting caught."
"I think I know a way to get in. Aiysha I'm gonna need your cousin make a new suit." Tommy spoke.
"Which suit?"
"Drakkon's"
Back at the fortress Drakkon sits in his thrown room alone. He sits silently with his eyes closed letting the silence clear his mind. In his times of silence he reflects back to his past, the choices he made that lead him to this very moment. He thought of the day he turned against Rita, driving the Sword of Darkness into her cold black heart. Then to the day he broke Billy's back. But his mind always found its way to the very beginning.
A voice echoes in his mind.
"Come with us, Tommy." A young female voice.
Drakkon's quiet mind flashes to a young Tommy Oliver standing in the sands of Angel Grove a lifetime ago, across from his friends.
"You are no longer under Rita's control. You have a choice." Jason continued.
Kimberly walks up and hugs Tommy close. "We can finally be together now. I love y-"
Her voice was stopped suddenly as Tommy's Dragon Dagger buries itself into her stomach. She turns her eyes to meet Tommy's color stare. "Why would I give up power, for you? Some basic whore." He twists the blade upward making her lets out a final gasp as he lets her drop to the ground dead.
His mind passes to the siege on the Command Center. The Green Ranger stands at the forefront of an army. He sends wave after wave of monsters to rip and tear a hole in the Command Center's force shield. The Green Ranger charges through with a small group of monsters as the large monster is destroyed by the shields.
Inside Alpha and Zordon work frantically as Jason takes his place in the center of the room.
"I am going to begin the empowerment to turn you into the White Ranger." Zordon spoke to Jason.
"I'm ready, Zordon. Flip the switch, we're running out of time." Jason ordered as Alpha began to pull a lever sending bolts of white energy surging through his body. The energy gathered on his body forming a white suit. The room is enveloped in light when there is a explosion and flying of rubble.
An unmorphed Zack and Trini lay in the entrance of the hole in the wall, Zack struggles to sit up and look over to the side. He was beaten with more than a few bones broken he could tell but Trini fared much worse. She lay on her back eyes open but with no soul behind them, her throat penetrated by metal rebar from the wall.
"Trini..?" Zack tears up as he tries to move to her but is stopped as the Green Ranger steps on his back as he walks over him into the room.
"Save your tears you'll be with her soon." The Green Ranger scoffs at Zack.
Zack raises his hand as he flips off the Green Ranger. "Fuck you, and your-"
The Dragon Dagger swings down cutting the finger from his hand, falling to the rubble with a splat of blood. Zack grips his hand in pain as he screams the Green Ranger raises his blade to drive it into Zack's back. He swings his blade down but is met with another blade to block his death blow, as the light dims a Power Ranger holds the blade that blocked him.
"This isn't over yet." The voice of Jason spoke through the White Power Ranger standing before him.
Drakkon's thoughts were interrupted by seething searing pain as he seizes on his throne. Finster-5 runs up to the throne injecting Drakkon with a medication. His seizure fades as Drakkon regains control of himself.
"Master, your episodes are happening more frequent." Finster-5 says worried.
Drakkon gets to his feet. "I'm dying Finster-5, it isn't surprising that I'd be made to suffer until the end. How long do you think I have, my friend?"
Finster-5 stands silent. "Half a year... at most... If we can take a morpher from your other world counterpart there is still time to correct this fatal flaw."
"Then our plans must be moved ahead, go back to the Lab, there is much to do."
