Yet again, the brunette was shackled to cold wrought iron of the interrogation room table. The charges this time? 6 Murders, 2 Manslaughters, multiple counts of fraud, identity theft, possession with the intent to sell… And of course, like most mob bosses; tax evasion. The continuous ticking of the clock, sound of alcoholics and newly arrested swearing, and the tell-tale heels of prostitutes and officers all seemed like a gentle lullaby to the brunette.
The metal door swung open, and Ymir's favourite officers glided through, as if they owned the place. Mikasa Ackermann and Reiner Braun; two of the most vigilant detectives of the Shinganshina district. And here they were, for what seemed like the hundredth time, trying to force a confession from the brunette, without evidence. Taking their seats opposite, Reiner came to rest his weary face in his large hands, before letting out a sigh. Ymir knew what this meant, yet again, she had won. Leaning back in the plastic chair, Ymir let a grin break out across her face.
"Well, I have to say, it has been nice speaking to you again, but by the look on handsome face over here, I can tell that I am going to be leaving shortly. So, how about we cut to the chase and you remove these cuffs? I am in dire need of a coffee!" The sneer on Ymir's face made the entire confrontation, just that little bit more sinister. Everyone knew that Ymir was behind some of the most criminal activity in the region, in particular around Wall Rose. If there was a robbing or if a body turned up floating in the river, then you could guarantee that some of the ties would lead back to Ymir. However, Ymir was clever. The entire empire at which Ymir stood atop holding the crown jewels, was built on this intelligence. If a crime was committed, no evidence was ever left behind. In fact, Ymir had a whole team dedicated just that.
"Oh, if only it was your lucky day Ymir," replied Detective Ackermann behind a cold smile, hidden slightly by a tatty red scarf that always adorned her neck, as if a constant reminder of how much Ymir wanted her neck to actually be red….
Reiner lifted his head from his hands, revealing a sneer, brandishing his white teeth. His shoulders began to shake with his suppressed amusement. Ymir hated situations like this, ones where everyone else got the joke.
"Do you mind informing me what is so funny, Detective. Or are you going to keep snorting like the pig you are?"
Detective Ackermann opened the portfolio that she had carried in, and removed various photos, including those of dead bodies, and numerous stacks of paper. Ymir had no idea what was going on, but from the size of that pile of paper, it could not be good.
"Here lies your execution notice, Ymir. Every crime that has been committed in the last year, all with DNA evidence that can lead to you, as well as CCTV footage and witness statemenets. This will put you away for life Ymir. You may want to think about that cinffesion right about now." Reiner let oan amused laugh before sliding over a confession slip and pen in Ymirs direction.
"You may wanna sign that." Mikasa chipped in, smiling slightly at Ymir, finally revelling in the glory of having beaten the corruption tjhat had been plaguing her city.
The reaction from Ymir was not what the two detectives had expected. She merely smiled, and once again lent back.
"I want my lawyer." Ymir stated proudly, too much confidence riding in her voice.
"No lawyer is going to be able to save you this time, Ymir. But as a citizen you have a right to legal representation. Just out of curiosity, who is it you want us to call? Who would be stupid enough to work with you?" Reiner replied, inner curiosity getting the better of him.
"Call District attorney, Historia Reiss. Tell her its time I call in that favour."
