Remember in season 5 when Lance starts crying because he's homesick? He said he misses his mom. He said he misses his brother Marco. He says he misses his brother Luis. He says he misses his sister Veronica. He says he misses his Grandma.
But he never mentioned his dad.
I think he doesn't have a dad.
Think about it, do you know how much Lance loves Shiro? Because Shiro is the father figure for Lance. Do you know why Coran and Lance are so close? Because Coran is another father figure for Lance. Lance idolizes Shiro. Lance really loves Coran. Do you know why? Because they are father figures in Lance's life. And Lance doesn't have a dad.
I also think I know how his Dad left.
Infact, I have several theories.
The first one is probably the one many of you first go to: Lance's father died. Lance really cares about life. Remember how much he loved the Arousians? Because he values life. He knows how inmportim life is. Because his father died.
Second theroy: his father left him. Have you read my last rant? If you haven't, it's about how I feel Lance hides behind a mask. Anyway, if his father left him, he would have the fear of rejection that he has today.
Also, if his father left him, maybe it was because he was a bad father. Think about it, Lance has low self-esteem. Maybe, it was because his father said rude and demeaning things to him.
The third theroy is my personal favorite, because it involves Lance getting his dad back.
What if Lance's father was a Garrison poliot who "died" during a failed mission? But instead got abducted by the Galra? Imagine a episode where they are freeing prisoners and then at the end of the line is a human. A human who looks like Lance. And Lance just collapses and his father holds him and they cry for, like 10 minutes. And the team is just staring.
