Chapter 0 - Prologue
In the vast desert of the planet Pandora, a tan Outrunner, a type of dune buggy, with two guns put on the front and top of the vehicle, sped through. It's driver was a criminal, wanted for war crimes, named Axton, the Commando.
He looked like the typical soldier, wearing green cargo pants and a brown shirt, with plenty of pouches and pockets for storing ammo and such. There were various minor pieces of scrap metal on him, obviously only there because he needed the extra armor. He had a small metal box on the back of his belt that read "Sabre" on it.
Ahead of him was a train station, or at least the remnants of one. It was mostly torn apart and most of what made it functional had been either scavenged or destroyed. The only parts that still worked were the hover-tracks, which would carry the train from station to station. Axton hit the brakes and skidded to a stop as he turned left. He hopped out and got a better look at the station, but then, he heard something to his left.
Just as he was pulling the gun off his back, he began being fired at by a Rat, a species of mutated human that usually live in the ruins of Pandora, however they do go above ground to scavenge from time to time. Axton looked down the barrel of his gun, but only to see the Rat being attacked by a psycho.
Psychos are humans who have gone crazy over their search for the many Vaults of Pandora. They commonly wear cargo pants and masks, wearing nothing else. Their masks had a logo that appeared like an A in a circle. And this one was no different. He wielded a buzz-axe, an axe with a buzzsaw on the end of it, and raised it in the air victoriously. Axton aimed his gun at the psycho, but before he could take a shot, he felt his gun and arms pulled down to the ground.
Axton looked at them and saw that some purple energy field had pulled them down. He looked back up to see the psycho charging at him, buzz-axe in hand. Axton tried lifting his gun to fire, but a hand stopped the psycho.
The Commando looked at said hands owner, a pale female with blue hair. She had a beautiful shade of blue lipstick on that matched her hair, which was short and at neck length. She was wearing dark blue pants and a yellow top, it looked like it had been a tight long sleeved yellow shirt, with a small hole in the chest, at one point, but with the left arm's sleeve torn off. In its place was her arm, which had many blue tattoos on it. The woman looked down at Axton, her eyes being a very pale yellow. "You look familiar."
"Seen a wanted poster lately?" Axton responded as he tried to get up still.
"Seen one? I'm on 'em." She responded. As Axton looked at her more, he noticed the tattoos on her arm was glowing. She began walking away. "Krieg, watch him."
"Can I add him to my meat bicycle?!" Krieg, the Psycho, asked.
"No, Krieg...or at least not yet." Her voice called from the station. Axton continued to try and escape the purple energy, but there was no luck.
The blue haired woman came back over to them, a poster in hand. She held it up to Axton's face and smirked. "Well it looks like we got our third teammate Krieg."
"Awe...I wanted to kill 'em!" Krieg yelled disappointingly. The purple energy dissipated and Axton was free. He instantly stood up and aimed his gun at them.
"Calm down. We're Vault Hunters too." The woman said as she put out a hand. He shook it. "I'm Maya, a-"
"A Siren. Yeah, I could tell by your tattoos and your powers." Axton said as he looked around. "So weren't we supposed to have more people here? Handsome Jack said that he wanted all the Vault Hunters he could get."
Suddenly, the group of three looked to their left as a loud yelling sound was heard. Two Bandit Technicals, Jeep like vehicles that could fire buzzsaws, were on fire and heading straight for them. Axton dodged right and Krieg grabbed Maya as they went left. The first of the two jeeps crashed into the train station and the second did the same, but this one had a bulky figure jump out of it before impact.
A short man, no taller than 5'4", with skin the color of dried mud, who had a blue beard and mohawk. He laughed crazily as the Technicals exploded. The short man turned around with an almost crazed grin on his face and laughed as he shot two assault rifles in the air.
"Should we kill him?" Axton whispered to Maya as the trio watched the crazy man.
"No...I'm pretty sure he's on our team..." Maya said as she brought up a hologram. "Hey! You Salvador?"
"Hell yeah I am!" Wanted for manslaughter, arson, destruction of property, trespassing, public indecency and profanity, their next member was Salvador, the Gunzerker.
"Alright..." Axton said as he pressed a button on his ear. "Zer0, stand down."
A dark tall and skinny figure became visible. He had a sword with a blue blade at Salvador's throat. He was a tall man who wore a dark black armor, with some gray and white as well. His helmet was long and tall. His armor had many scratches and cuts in it, battle scars. No one could see his face, only a black visor. Oddly, he only had 4 fingers on each hand. The team's mystery man, Zer0, the Assassin. "I show you mercy/Do not betray any of us/You will regret it."
"So is this our entire team?" Axton asked as he looked around.
"Looks like it. Now we just gotta wait for that train to get here." Maya said. The train arrived, just on time. It was various shades of gray with black windows. It had a too many train cars to count from where they were standing.
"Speak of the Devil..." Salvador said as he walked on. The other four members of the Vault Hunter team got on the train. They were ready for their new adventure, they just didn't know what the adventure would bring.
Meanwhile, a 16 year old red headed girl and a hovering robot secretly got on.
