AN: Hey guys, welcome to the sixth chapter of "RWBY: AU Theater", as well as the Christmas Special for this story.
I apologize for the long hiatus, the reason why is that I was distracted, and lost some interest with this story. However, I remember stating that I would occasionally work on this story, which is what I am doing right now. At first, I planned on doing a Ghira-based chapter, but I've decided to put that on hold, at least until I can get this chapter done.
With that said, time to summarize what this chapter will be based on.
Considering that Christmas is near, I plan on doing a "Christmas-themed" chapter. Though, I plan on recreating the home-invasion scene from Family Guy, where both Stewie and Brian take it upon themselves to be Santa Clause(s), and "help" deliver the presents all over the world. With that said, the two RWBY characters that will play Stewie and Brian for this scene will be none other than Adam Taurus and Mercury Black.
The reason why is simple - they are the LAST people to dress up as Santa.
So I am prepared for what is about to go down.
Family Guy is owned by FOX, and is created by Seth MacFarlane.
HERE WE GO!
In the Old Theater -
DC looks at the calendar on his laptop, seeing how close it was to Christmas.
"It's December 20th...screw it, let's do this!"
After pressing a few keys, DC summons everyone he summoned back into the old theater. However, ever since he placed this Alternate Universe on 'hold', he also placed everyone back to their original places before he abducted them to watch these Screenings. Thus, DC wiped away everyone's memories for the sake of keeping the confusion at a minimum.
Simply put - this Alternate Universe was rebooted.
Teams RWBY, JNPR, STRQ, CMEN, Professors Ozpin and Glynda Goodwitch, General James Ironwood, Winter Schnee, Penny Polendina, Oscar Pine and Roman Torchwick were summoned back. However, there was a new person within this viewing party. He was a young man, with red hair and black horns, dressed in a black suit and a white Grimm mask with red markings was placed over his eyes.
Meet Adam Taurus.
"What the...?"
"Where are we...?"
"What happened to our weapons!"
"R-Ruby...?"
"...Mom?"
"Ozpin? Glynda? What's happening?"
"This isn't the farm..."
"Crap! It's Red and her friends!"
"Torchwick!"
"Blake...my love..."
"A-Adam!?"
DC tries to calm everyone down, however, the large group of people he amassed ignored him as they were still speaking to one another. He tries gaining their attention again, but they still ignore him. Slightly annoyed by being ignored, DC types in a few keys on his laptop, and the old theater is filled with the sounds of gunfire. That was when everyone reacted differently: some of the students tackling their partners to the ground, Ironwood and Winter tried to spot where the gunfire came from, and the bad guys taking cover behind the rows of seats.
After a few minutes of letting the sound-effect 'Gunfire' playing, DC closes his laptop as he now gains the attention of everyone in the room.
"Now that I have your attention - "
"Who are you? Do you - !"
"You can call me DC for the time being. And I brought you to this Alternate Universe for one specific reason: to watch different Screenings of the Multiverse."
Nearly everyone in the theater looks at him with a skeptical expression, the exception being Ozpin as he looks at the building around with interest. He wasn't one to judge, considering that he was a puppet to the Brother Gods, forced to be reincarnated for the rest of his life until he stops Salem. Yang Xiao Long, however, walks up to DC, and sarcastically says,
"Right...and I'm capable of turning into a bird."
"You don't believe me, do you?"
"Nope."
DC opens his laptop and presses a single key, watching as Yang was suddenly turned into a small, yellow bird. Her friends and family were shocked by what they witnessed, though Qrow and Raven Branwen were slightly less shocked, considering that turning into birds was normal for them. DC presses the same key again, and Yang turned back into a human. The buxom blonde had a blank expression, her eyes wide as she opened her mouth, only to weakly mutter,
"Okay...I stand corrected."
"So...any questions?"
Ruby Rose slowly raises her hand, and asks,
"You brought my mom back from the dead, just to have her watch these...Screenings?"
"Yep."
"So does that mean...?"
"I may not be a god in your universe, but I can make sure that your mother doesn't return to the afterlife. Instead, I'll make sure that Summer Rose will have a place here in my Alternate Universe, and you will be able to visit her anytime. Deal?"
"Deal!"
That was when Ruby proceeds to hug the life out of DC, with the mysterious being rasping out,
"Can't...breath!"
After a few minutes -
Both Teams RWBY and JNPR sat next to each other, near the front of the Old Theater, with their professors taking up the seats behind them. Both General Ironwood and Winter sat next to the professors, while Penny decided to take the seat next to Ruby. Team STRQ sits in the further rows, with Raven reluctantly sitting with her old team; Summer happily dragging her to sit with her, Qrow and Taiyang, much to the awkwardness of both Tai and Raven. Oscar wasn't sure were to sit, but decides to take a seat on Ozpin's right, which is also the seat in front of Summer's seat.
Much to Ruby's confusion, Team CMEN sat far away from the rest of the group, with both Roman and Adam sitting next to them as well.
After making sure that everyone was happy with where they sat, DC summons snacks in everyone's hands, making sure that they were going to be comfortable with the upcoming Screenings. Speaking of which, DC brings up the first Screening, and announces,
"Alright, this Screening will take place during Christmas - "
"Christmas? What's that?"
"Basically, it's a holiday that's celebrated in the winter season. Now, the people you'll be watching are going to be Mercury and Adam."
The two boys-in-question were surprised, though Mercury had a smug grin on his face, happy to watch himself on the big screen. Emerald, who somehow read what he was thinking, groaned at the idea of watching the grey-haired assassin, even if this was an Alternate Universe.
"This is going to be fun."
"Tell me when this is over..."
Over the City of Vale -
Both Mercury and Adam, dressed in Santa costumes, were currently riding a big, red-and-gold sleigh, behind the two teens was a giant sack of presents. What made the fact that they rode a sleigh interesting was the fact that the sleigh was flying above the city. Magic reindeer, that were also flying, were pulling the sleigh; though these reindeer looked more like savage beasts that looked like they are about to attack the closest thing to them.
The younger audience couldn't help but look at the opening scene in awe, imagining what it would feel like to be riding that sleigh. Most of the adults were also surprised by the fact that not only was the sleigh flying, but by also the flying reindeer. Ozpin wondered if magic was involved to make the sleigh and animals capable of flying.
"That looks amazing..."
Though, Nora Valkyrie couldn't help but laugh at what Mercury and Adam were wearing.
"Why are they dressed like that?"
"Nora, be nice. Though I have to agree - it is a rather odd costume for them."
"Those are costumes meant to impersonate Santa Claus."
The young ginger girl wasn't the only one confused by the name, as was most of audience, who wanted to know more about this 'Santa Claus'. DC gives them a small explanation of who Santa Claus is, making Nora and Ruby shake with glee, obviously excited at the idea of a man delivering presents to all the good boys and girls around the world. Some of the maturer audience, Weiss Schnee for example, were a bit skeptic about the whole idea.
She said,
"There's no way that a single man can deliver that many presents in one night."
Much to her confusion, DC was laughing a bit. He explains,
"You're technically right. For the most part, Santa is capable of doing so, but not for this Universe. Due to how the world of Remnant becoming materialistic, the never-ending demands of the people caused Santa to over exert himself, to the point that he is hospitalized."
"Oh...so that's why those two are dressed like him? To help deliver gifts?"
The young heiress is somewhat concerned by the look on DC's face, as if the young man was going to break down laughing.
Blake Belladonna looks around her, asking herself,
"Am I only one who noticed how the reindeer do not look friendly?"
Mercury looks at the map in his hands, and peers over the sleigh to look at the many houses below him. He points at one of them, announcing,
"Okay Adam, we're about to approach the first house. Prepare to land."
Adam simply nods at he takes the reins attached to the reindeer and steers them downward, hovering over a neighborhood as they got closer to their first house. Before he actually landed the sleigh, Adam smiles at Mercury,
"This is it, Mercury, our first town!"
The Bull Faunus snaps the reins, causing the reindeer to plummet downwards. However, the sudden action caused the entire sleigh to tilt, concerning the two as they were gaining speed as they were plummeting. Mercury asks,
"W-Why are we tilting?"
Adam momentarily looks at Mercury in annoyance,
"Look, I've never landed one of these things before. Okay!?"
"WHAT!?"
The entire the audience were shocked by what they just heard. It was simply stupid for them to use a sleigh that NEITHER of them had experience using. In fact, some of the people were still skeptical about Santa were wondering how a sleigh delivering presents were a good idea to start with.
"Of all the..."
"I hope they don't crash into one of the houses!"
Summer is concerned for two reasons - the first being that the Alternate Mercury and Adam possibly killing themselves. The second reason being that if they can't land the sleigh, they might end up crashing in the middle of the street, or on top of a poor family's home.
Mercury looks at the Bull Faunus next to him, and slaps him upside the head. Adam glares at the young assassin,
"What was that for?"
"You can't land a fucking sleigh!?"
"As if I would use a sleigh!"
Adam jerks the reins to the left, trying to raise the sleigh upwards. Thankfully, both the sleigh and the reindeer slowly raised upwards, though they still gained too much speed as they were now unable to avoid the tree that was in front of them.
"Look out!"
Luckily, the bottom of the sleigh only touched the snow-covered leaves as the sleigh was now skimming through the rooftops of different houses. But, Mercury and Adam weren't lucky enough to dodge the second tree that was in front of them. The two teens shield their eyes, as they made contact with the tree. The reindeer were ensnared within the tree, suspended in air by their harnesses while the tree somehow flung the sleigh to the nearest house in front of it.
The two boys screamed as they hit the house, though the sleigh finally came to a stop, and the two were flung onto the roof.
Adam slowly gets up, and smiles,
"Alright this is good."
Nearly everyone released a breath they didn't realize that they were holding in.
"Man...that was a close call."
"I know...imagine if they actually crashed into the house."
While everyone was talking about the close-encounter Mercury and Adam faced, Blake was the only one who seemed to be focused on something else. She was the only one who was surprised by how Adam was acting in this Alternate Universe. The Cat Faunus knew what her old boyfriend was like, so she was surprised to see the man in big screen to act so happy. It wasn't just Blake, Adam himself was surprised at how his other-self was behaving. In some way, it reminded him of his child-like innocence before he joined the White Fang.
Before he got branded.
"How different would I be...if I were like Blake?"
"We'll be in-and-out of this house in no time, and onto the next!"
"What about the reindeer?"
As Mercury was getting up, he looks at the reindeer that were still hanging in the tree. Both he and Adam unknowingly winced when they saw the feral reindeer growling at each other, baring their sharpened teeth at each other. Some of the reindeer began to bite the air that was around them. Adam shrugs,
"We'll cut them down afterwards. Now let's go down the chimney."
The two boys climb the chimney, Adam being the first one to slowly slide down inside the house. A few seconds later, Mercury was the next to slide down, though he ended up falling halfway through, crashing into Adam as he was at the bottom of the fireplace. They both rolled towards the middle of the living-room, Adam silently cursing as Mercury crashed into him. That was when they got up, brushing off the soot that clung to their clothing.
Mercury looks at Adam,
"Let's get the presents under the tree."
"Alright, do you have them?"
The grey-haired teen looks at his partner in disbelief. He said,
"I thought you had them!"
Adam looks at his partner in disbelief as well, before facepalming.
"Oh for the love of God! They're still in the sleigh!"
"Oh crap, on the roof!?"
The entire theater was filled with the sounds of groaning, as nearly everyone placed their hands in front of their faces. They questioned how neither of them didn't see the other NOT bring any presents with them, with both Adam and Mercury starting to argue with each other.
"You didn't bring the presents!?"
"You saw me head down the chimney first! I thought you were gonna get them!"
Raven also facepalmed at what transpired in the Screening. She was disappointed by how the entire thing was executed, seeing as that neither them communicated with each other before entering the house. That was when she accidentally said to herself,
"If I were in their shoes, I would've finished delivering the gifts by the time their done arguing."
Qrow, who sat next to his older sister, snorted at the idea of Raven dressed up like a "Female-Santa" and delivering presents to children. In his head, such actions would go against everything he thought about his sister, though it did make him curious about something. Despite learning about Santa literally a few minutes ago, Qrow wondered if there was a female Santa.
DC, who read what Qrow was thinking, thought of something funny and began to type away in his laptop.
Instantly, Winter Schnee was enveloped in bright light before her uniform was replaced with a Santa costume. However, her costume was very much different then the costumes shown in the Screening. She was dressed in black, thigh-high, leather boots. She was dressed in a red miniskirt that was lined with white fur, a black belt holding the skirt in place. On her upper body, she was dressed in a short, red coat that revealed her midriff to everyone around her, that was also lined with white fur. On her hands were red gloves, and on top of her head was a Santa hat.
A few seconds passed before Winter screamed as she tried to hide the inappropriate costume she was now wearing. Qrow was laughing his ass off, while also trying to burn the image of Winter in such clothing into his memory.
"May I introduce...Mrs. Claus!"
"This is the best day ever! I love Christmas!"
"Shut up, Qrow!"
Weiss blushed heavily at how revealing Winter's clothes were, while trying to make sure that no one else was gawking at her sister. Ironwood was also making sure that no one would look at his Specialist in such a state. While everyone decided to either look away or discreetly look, both Ruby and Oscar had their eyes shielded by Yang and Summer respectively.
"Yang! What gives?"
"Nope. You're too young to look at this!"
"Uh...M-Mrs. Rose?"
"You can call me Summer, Oscar. And you're also not allowed to look, young man!"
Both Mercury and Adam glared at each other before they heard the sound of something scrapping on the roof. They both looked up and followed the sound of where the scrapping was, and saw the sleigh they arrived in to crash onto the front-yard. When the sleigh crashed, the huge sack that held the presents ripped open, colorful boxes spilling all over the sleigh. After a few moments of staring, Adam just numbly pointed out,
"No, it's...it's in the yard."
They quickly open the front door to get to the sleigh, picking up the gifts that were meant for the family. After grabbing the gifts, Mercury reaches for the doorknob while balancing the gifts he carried in his arms. However, the doorknob instead rattles, meaning that the door was now locked to them.
They were locked out.
"Oh my God..."
Mercury and Adam's argument started again.
"And you called me an idiot for not bring the presents!?"
"You were the last one to leave the house!"
"Who locks a door after opening it!? You KNEW we had to get back inside!"
While they argued, some of the other members of the audience quietly snickered at how unlucky the two teens were. From nearly crashing into someone's house, to locking themselves out of that same house, the audience found some humor through the whole ordeal.
Adam looks at Mercury with an angry expression,
"Didn't you unlock the door when we left!?"
"No! YOU were the last one out!"
"How the Hell are we supposed to get back inside!?"
Mercury took a deep breath, stopping himself before he might continues the argument. The grey-haired boy looks at the window, and a plan was hatching in his mind. As both he and Adam drop the gifts on the floor, he tells the Bull Faunus,
"Find a rock."
A few seconds later, after finding a big-enough rock, Mercury chucks it at the window, shattering the glass as he did. Mercury elbows the remaining shards of glass from the windowsill, and proceeds to enter through the window. He unlocks the front door, picking up the gifts he dropped while Adam walks in with the gifts he dropped.
As soon as they entered the living room, Mercury walks towards the Christmas tree, and unceremoniously dumps the load of gifts around the tree. He even began to nudge the gifts around the tree with his foot, which Adam saw. In an offended tone, he asks,
"Whoa! Whoa! Whoa! Whoa! What do you think you're doing!?"
"I'm putting out the presents!"
"Not like that you're not!"
Adam begins to place the gifts more neatly then his partner, who ignores him as he grabs something from the fireplace. While Adam was placing the tall gifts around the Christmas tree, and then the smaller gifts in front of the tall gifts, he said,
"Show some care for God's sake! Y-You know, those aren't socks and underwear donated by the fire department, or some battered women's shelter. These are Santa Gifts!"
"Who cares how the gifts are placed?"
Mercury sighs irritably when he saw the looks he was receiving for his little comment. He explains,
"I am LITERALLY handing out gifts! Who would complain about how they're placed?"
"Well maybe some people enjoy getting gifts with a little care behind them!"
Ruby sticks out her tongue at Mercury. Before an argument between the assassin and the young reaper could break out, Jaune Arc asks,
"Uh...what's Mercury doing?"
Everyone turned their attention back to the Screening, shocked by what they were now seeing.
After finishing the proper arrangement of the gifts, Adam gives himself a pat on the back for his work. He turns to look at Mercury, to make sure that he would know how to place the gifts correctly, only to stop and look at Mercury eating a cookie. Not only was Mercury eating a cookie, he also had a glass of milk in his other hand. Adam stares in disbelief as he watches Mercury finish the cookie that he found on top of the fireplace.
"Did you just eat that entire cookie off the mantle?"
Mercury, who swallowed the cookie, shrugs at Adam as he was about to drink the milk. After tuning out Adam, Mercury found the plate with the cookie and the glass of milk next to it. He heard his stomach grumble a bit, before proceeding to take the small gifts as a reward. He defends himself,
"What? They left it out for Santa - WE'RE SANTA."
"Yeah, but you're not supposed to eat ALL of it. You take a BITE and a SIP of milk! That's how the kids know that Santa was here!"
"Don't yell at me!"
"I'm not yelling at you! I'm just telling you at how it's done! T-They need some sort of indication that Santa was here!"
"How about this? Look! Now they know!"
Mercury scoffs at how ridiculous Adam was being, before dumping the glass of milk all over the floor between himself and his partner. Adam was about to ask what was wrong with him, only for Mercury to drop the empty glass, and glare at the Bull Faunus.
"Look! I'm here handing out FREE presents, alright! I'll eat the damn cookies if I want!"
That was when Mercury made his way towards the kitchen.
"Wait, where are you going!?"
"You know what? I might even make a sandwich! Maybe get some chips or something..."
Adam glares at the retreating back of Mercury, so he follows him into the kitchen. Mercury, who was rummaging through the cupboards, found a bag of chips and sat on the kitchen ledge. He somewhat struggles to open the bag. Adam walks up to him,
"Mercury! Knock it off!"
Mercury, ignoring Adam, grabs the bag from both ends and applied force, only for the bag to not only pop open, but also spilling all the chips that were inside the bag.
The two boys looked at the mess, and said,
"Aw man!"
"You jackass!"
Some of the adults were disappointed at how the two teens were acting on the big screen. Some agreed with Mercury, believing that for what they were doing for not only that house, but for all of Remnant, they should be able to enjoy the little things that were offered to them. Though, it doesn't excuse Mercury's behavior and blatant disregard of private property. Others agreed with Adam, believing that some things are supposed to be done correctly, even if it was a pain-in-the-ass. Yet, the Adam on-screen shouldn't be uptight when it came to being Santa Claus.
"It appears that both Mercury and Adam are making too much noise. Won't the residents of that household wake up?"
Some of the people looked at Penny, realizing that with all of the noise that happened, it was surprising that no one within the house actually woke up. However, it wasn't just the family who lives in the house that they should worry, both Mercury and Adam should also worry about the neighbors surrounding the house as well.
Qrow stated,
"It would suck for those two if someone came to the kitchen."
"Hey! Who the Hell are you!?"
Suddenly, the kitchen lights turned on and both Mercury and Adam turned to see that husband of the house was glaring at them. The man in question was dressed in casual sleepwear, with blonde hair and facial hair, tanned skin, and dark-blue eyes.
Meet Taiyang Xiao Long.
"Qrow!"
"You just jinxed them!"
Qrow couldn't help but falter from the looks of both Summer and Ruby Rose, both were disappointed and mad that the man jinxed the two boys. While that happened, Yang and Raven were surprised to see their father/husband on the big screen. Tai was also surprised, weirded out by seeing himself in this Screening.
DC looked at the Rose/Xiao Long/Branwen family, and somewhat felt guilty for what was about to come.
He whispers to himself,
"I hope you guys enjoy what comes next..."
Mercury was dumbfounded by the man staring him down. Adam was in the same boat, unsure whether or not he should do something. That was when Mercury slowly raises his hand, and awkwardly waves towards Taiyang.
"Uh...hello?"
"What're you doing in my house!?"
Adam decides to speak up, only to realize how stupid the words came out of his mouth.
"We're Santa Clause...ses."
Taiyang glares at the both of them, scoffing at what he was hearing from the both of them. He turns around, and sees his busted window, and came to the conclusion that these two were breaking into his house. He shouts,
"I'm calling the cops!"
"No! No! No! No!"
As soon as he saw Taiyang walk towards the phone on the wall, Mercury ran up to him and explain what was really happening. The grey-haired teenager knew that everything that came out of his mouth was going to be unrealistic and absolute BS, but he still had to try in order to avoid prison. Adam, on the other hand, carefully made his way back to the presents under the tree, and began to rummage for one gift in particular.
Mercurcy stuttered,
"We - we - we came down the chimney, but we - we forgot the presents! It's actually...a pretty funny..story..."
Taiyang eyes the stuttering teenager with dislike before returning to call the police. However, before he could even turn his head, Adam comes out of nowhere and bashes Taiyang in the head twice with a wooden baseball bat. The first strike broke Taiyang's nose, blood splattering all over the wall, while the second strike caused blood to splatter all of Mercury's face. With the blonde man unconscious, Adam stood over him, the bloody bat leaning against his shoulder.
Mercury looks at Adam in shock.
Everyone, both the 'Good Guys' and the 'Bad Guys', all shouted in surprise from the sudden brutality. While Roman winced in amusment at seeing Tai getting hit with a baseball bat, Neo couldn't help but smile a little bit, thinking that the baseball bat to the head was funny. Cinder also seemed to have enjoyed the baseball bat to the head, faulting Taiyang for getting distracted. Oscar nearly turned green when he saw the blood coming out of Tai, Ozpin rubbing circles on the boy's back; the Headmaster speechless when he saw his old student getting assaulted like that.
It wasn't just Taiyang's colleagues that were concerned for him.
"DAD!"
"TAI!"
Suddenly, Taiyang felt two large masses tackle his chest, realizing that it was both Summer and Ruby. The two Roses had tears coming out of their eyes, obviously not expecting to see their husband/father getting hurt like that. Yang was the third to hug her father, while the older blonde tried to console the three females that hugged him. The only ones who didn't come to Tai were Qrow and Raven, the two glaring at DC for what they just witnessed.
"What the Hell was that, you bastard!?"
"Why didn't Tai's Aura protect him!?"
DC looks down before explaining,
"I forgot to mention that this Alternate Universe is somewhat known for its dark humor. In some cases, you have people dying due to over-the-top fight sequences to songs that are simply too inappropriate to be actually sung. And to answer your second question, this Universe doesn't have Aura."
Before either Branwen could shout at DC, Tai called out to them.
"It's...it's alright, guys."
"Tai, your on-screen-self just got a concussion! How - !?"
"This is just another Universe...I'm still okay."
After glaring at DC, both Qrow and Raven sat down, grumbling to themselves as it happened. While Qrow was angry that he had to watch his brother-in-law get gravely injured, Raven was angry at how helpless she was as she watched her ex-husband get hurt. But, she was also a bit sad, remembering that she left him and Yang for her Tribe. She still remembers the arguments she had with both Tai and Qrow, saying how she wanted both of them to return to the Branwen Tribe, only for the two men to deny her request.
Mercury looks at Adam in shock. After wiping the blood off his face, he shouted,
"WHAT THE HELL DID YOU DO!?"
"He was going to call the cops man! You can't call the cops on Santa! Now help me move this guy's body!"
Adam, who still held onto the bloodied bat, grabs one of Taiyang's legs while Mercury grabbed the other leg. With a joint effort, the two of them managed to drag Taiyang's body out of the kitchen and into the living-room. Ignoring the trail of blood Taiyang left, Adam walked towards a nearby closet, opening it, and helps Mercury drag the blonde's body into the closet. Mercury had an uneasy look on his face as he saw Taiyang's bloodied face.
Before the closet could be closed, Taiyang opened one of his eyes groggily. He moans in pain, shocking the two Santas.
Adam shouts,
"He's still alive!"
Adam bashes Taiyang in the face four more times, Taiyang blacking out again. Adam looks at the now-still body of Taiyang, and then quickly turns to Mercury. The Bull Faunus knew that they were going to be in trouble if word got out of this, so he came up with an idea. He orders Mercury,
"Tie him up, I'm gonna make it look like a burglary."
Without wasting any time, Adam grabs a side-table and throws it across the living-room.
"Are you serious right now!?"
"First you attack my dad, now you're trashing our home!?"
Adam ignores the angry and disgusted looks he was receiving, for he was already accustomed to such treatment. It was something that he found normal due to his Faunus-heritage, as well as during his time in the White Fang. However, that was when Mercury stood up and announced,
"Lay off him, alright? The dude tried to fix a mistake my other-self made, okay?"
The Bull Faunus looked at Mercury with surprise, wondering why the Human who forced him to work for his boss would stick his neck out. Seeing the look Adam was giving, Mercury simply told him,
"Don't look to deeply into this. I figured if Cinder stabs me in the back, it might come in handy to have an ally. Even if it is you."
"...Don't you mean when she stabs you in the back?"
"...True."
Mercury found some rope inside the closet Taiyang was in and proceeded to tie him up with it. After making sure that the rope was tightly secured around Taiyang, Mercury runs up to Adam and grabs his shoulder, urging for the two of them to leave. If either of them stayed any longer, it would be a matter of time before the rest of family spots them.
"Look, let's - let's just go!"
Adam, who is slightly on alert, said,
"Right. Right...we'll go, I'm just going to rewrap this bat for...Johnny. Let me just clean his father's hair and blood off it."
"Daddy! I want a glass of water!"
Both Adam and Mercury stiffen when they heard the young, feminine voice call out to her possibly-dead father. Adam simply cursed aloud before looking at the staircase, eyeing the small girl that was in front of him. The girl was about seven-years-old, with pale skin, black hair that had red tips, and silver eyes.
Meet Ruby Rose.
Yang, dangerously calm after seeing the younger-version of her sister, said,
"DC?"
"Y-Yeah...?"
"Does anything happen to my sister? Because if something happens, so help me..."
"Y-Yang, I can assure...nothing too messed up will happen."
The only one who wasn't thinking about protecting the young Rose, was Blake. Blake, was simply thinking -
Who's 'Johnny'?
Young Ruby looks up at both Adam and Mercury, confused by who these two people were. The two teens did their best to make sure that the young girl didn't notice the trail of blood that was behind them. In a fake, friendly tone, Adam greets her.
"Hey there! How ya doin'?"
"Who are you?"
"I'm Santa!"
Ruby's confusion instantly disappeared, excited that the person in front of her was Santa Claus! She was so excited that she didn't even question who Mercury was. She began to squeal happily, wanting to make sure that she wasn't dreaming.
"You're Santa!?"
Before either Adam or Mercury could say anything, Summer Rose - mother to Ruby and wife to Taiyang - gasps at the sight of the two strangers that were in front of her daughter. She quickly gets in front of Ruby, shielding her with her arms, and frantically asks,
"Who are you!? Where's Tai!?"
At that exact moment, the closet door opened and Taiyang's unconscious and bloodied body fell out. Everyone gazed at the body with different reactions: Adam and Mercury realizing that they were screwed, Ruby getting scared as she now looked at the two in fear, and Summer gasping in realization. Knowing what happened to her husband, Summer quickly picked up Ruby and attempts to run away from the two boys dressed as Santa.
Mercury immediately tackles Summer to the ground, the older woman dropping her daughter as it happened. Mercury tries restraining Summer, only for the woman to continuously kick him, screaming out for someone to help her. Mercury shouts,
"Adam, quick! Get the bat!"
Wasting no time, Adam gets behind Summer and swings the bat against the back of her head.
"MOM!"
"SUMMER!"
Summer flinches when she saw herself getting hit with the bat. Before anyone could say anything, DC tells them,
"Do not ask me why: people find this funny, okay!?"
"How do people find this funny!?"
"WHAT DID I JUST SAY!?"
"MOMMY!"
Ruby screams at the sight of her mother getting hit, causing the young girl to run towards her mother's unconscious body, crying into her chest. Mercury takes a few steps back, trying to calm himself as he tries to deny what is happening. Adam looks at the crying girl, and reassures her,
"It's okay...it's okay - MERCURY! SEE IF YOU CAN FIND SOME DUCT TAPE!"
"MAMA!"
With Ruby's crying in the background, Mercury begins rummaging through the drawers, muttering to himself about how things spiraled out of control. That was when he finally found duct tape, and tosses the roll towards Adam, who quickly wraps the duct tape around Ruby's upper-body, as well as placing a strip of duct tape over her mouth. That was when both Adam and Mercury look at the unconscious parents and traumatized child in front of them.
Without a further word, Adam said,
"Alright, let's get this place cleaned up!"
"At least...at least they're cleaning your home? Am I right?"
DC ignores the looks of disbelief he was receiving, the audience wondering how that could called a silver-lining to what was basically a home-invasion. The 'Bad Guys' seemed indifferent about what happened, though at least Mercury and Adam had the common decency to at least look ashamed of what their others did. The only ones who seemed to have actually enjoyed the dark humor of this was both Roman and Neo, who decided that it was time to start laughing very loudly.
Seeing the angry glares aimed at him, Roman wheezes,
"I'm s-sorry! It's just...this reminds me of some of my old jobs! These guys are amateurs!"
Neo was silently laughing, having the time of her life since she saw Adam bashing Taiyang upside the head. DC told them that this Universe was known for dark humor, which made her happy, considering that dark humor was her favorite kind of humor.
"Can we...can we just...watch the end already?"
The audience decides to ignore the laughter of Roman Torchwick as they try to continue to watch this Screening.
After a few hours of deep scrubbing, both Mercury and Adam managed to clean up the entire living room. Behind the two boys were the unconscious bodies of Summer and Taiyang, now restrained by duct tape, and Ruby, who was still gagged, but duct taped to a chair instead.
Adam looks at his and Mercury's handiwork, and announces,
"Alright, that's the last of the blood. Go check on the other kid."
Mercury, who was putting away the cleaning materials he and Adam used, looks at Adam and asks,
"What other kid?"
"Johnny! The one who's getting the bat."
Remembering about the bat, Mercury remembers that there should be a second child in this household. Though, it was weird to him, considering that nearly everyone in the house was accounted for, except for 'Johnny'. He quickly gets upstairs and checks the rooms that were there: the parents' room and a bedroom for Ruby only. Mercury tries to find another room, but to no avail. He shouts downstairs so Adam could hear him,
"Adam, there's only one bedroom up here!"
The Bull Faunus' eyes widen in confusion when he heard that. He turns to Ruby, and asks her,
"Do you have a brother?"
"No...my only sibling is Yang..."
"Then who the Hell is Johnny..."
Both Adam and Mercury's eyes widened in realization, causing the two to slump their shoulders in defeat. Apparently, a bunch of the other members of the audience seemed to have caught on, with Roman and Neo laughing harder than ever, Raven facepalming and muttering about something.
"You've got to be kidding me..."
"Do you have a brother?"
Ruby fearfully shakes her head, telling Adam that she didn't have a brother named 'Johnny'. Confused and angry, Adam speaks to himself,
"Then who the Hell is Johnny..."
However, that was when his brain made the obvious connection. The reason why there was only one child's bedroom was because there was one child in this family. The reason why Ruby had no brother was because she was an only child. Adam said in disbelief,
"Oh my GOD - we're in the wrong house."
That was when Roman and Neo laughed at the looks of disbelief that were spread all over the Old Theater, DC trying his best to hide the grin on his face. Even though it was awkward to show a family getting assaulted in their own home, the delivery of that line was still funny to him.
The Rose/Xiao Long/Branwen family could only look at the screen in disbelief, shocked when they realized that all of what happened to them didn't need to happen...if Mercury and Adam were in the right house.
"All that effort...was for nothing!?"
"ARE YOU ACTUALLY FUCKING KIDDING ME RIGHT NOW!?"
The ones who were most upset about this revelation were none other than Mercury and Adam. The two boys went through Hell to deliver presents to this family, only to end up assaulting the parents, mentally-scar their child, and even helped CLEAN their house...only to realize that they got the wrong family.
Adam was about to say something, only to stop when he heard the faint sound of police sirens in the distance. He runs towards the window, seeing that multiple police cruisers were heading towards them, their blue-and-red sirens flashing brightly. Adam cusses when he realizes what that meant.
"MERCURY! The cops are coming, let's go!"
Mercury runs down the stairs, looking his partner with disbelief, unsure if he heard him correctly. While he wanted to quickly leave the crime-scene, they still needed to deliver the rest of the gifts, in order to save Christmas.
He says to him,
"W-We're leaving like this? What about not wanting to ruin Christmas?"
Adam shouts angrily,
"It's already ruined! This is ONE house! We've been here for an HOUR AND A HALF. An hour and a - first of all, we're not even Santa anymore; this has been a home invasion! But AN HOUR AND A HALF, Mercury! It's going to be morning in SIX HOURS! And we still have to deliver to the rest of Remnant!"
He grabs Mercury by the shoulders, shaking him,
"There's TWO apartment-buildings on this block ALONE!"
Mercury realizes how impossible the task was. He forgot about how many people there were in Remnant. He agrees with Adam,
"No wonder Santa lost his mind! This is ridiculous, we can't do this!"
"No one can! It's inhuman!"
That was when they kicked the front door open and quickly got inside the sleigh. When Adam grabbed the reins, Mercury realized something looks at the tree, grimacing at the sight of the reindeer eating each other. He points this out to Adam,
"What about the reindeer?"
"To Hell with the reindeer! They're all eating each other anyway!"
As the sounds of the police sirens growing louder, Adam reveals a button within the sleigh. He explains to Mercury,
"We don't need the reindeer anyway!"
That was when he presses the button, the sleigh transforming so boosters and wings formed on the sleigh. Once the transformation was complete, Adam quickly flew himself and Mercury away from the house, just in time for the police to arrive.
At the end of the Screening, DC takes a quick look at the audience. Roman and Neo were still laughing themselves to death, while nearly a majority of the 'Good Guys' had shocked, angered, and blank expressions on their face towards the end of what they saw.
That was when he asked,
"So...what did you guys think?"
Weiss was immediately the first to respond,
"Ignoring the fact that those two dolts assaulted my partner and her family...for no reason, I admit...it was funny."
"What the Hell, Weiss?!"
"I meant at the beginning! Not when they started attacking your family, Yang!"
The 'Good Guys' also agreed that the beginning of the Screening was good, though things went downhill for them as soon as they saw Taiyang getting assaulted. The 'Bad Guys' however, seemed to have actually enjoyed it, if Roman and Neo applauding DC was any indication. Cinder also pointed out,
"While that Adam acted completely different than this version, I saw that he still had some similar qualities with his counterpart."
Emerald was quick to agree with Cinder,
"I agree, Cinder."
The only ones who didn't say anything was Mercury and Adam, who were once again arguing with each other.
"I blame you, Taurus!"
"Me!? You were the one with the map! You should've known that was the wrong house! Not only that, but you handed me the presents!"
"I thought you took us to right house!"
While those two were arguing with each other, DC proceeds to go with the next Screening.
That is if he plans on doing this again.
