To Authors one and all,

Don't be sorry.

Just don't. If you're sad, if you have problems, if you're sick or injured, if you can't keep going, don't force yourself to keep going.

Don't be pressured into writing.

Don't feel pressured to write until you've picked up the pieces of your life, until you've healed.

Don't apologise. There is nothing to be sorry for.

You don't do it on purpose, so don't feel the need to say sorry.

So, when there is a problem, when you are injured or sick, when you're depressed, when there's been a tragedy, unless it helps you and those involved, don't do it.

Pick up the pieces first.

Put your life together second.

Do what you need to feel better third.

Take care of everything else fourth.

Then write.

If you don't heal because you write, it's a tragedy.

If you feel pressured to say "I'm sorry, my friend died so I couldn't write", it's a crime.

If you need to say "I couldn't write because I had anxiety and/or depression", it's cruel.

If you have to say "I wasn't able to update for a while because I was injured" it's horrible.

Yes, explain your absence. Explain what's going on. We might be able to help. (Maybe not)

But don't apologise for something you have no control over.
