It had been months since the day malfoy and his gang decided to gang up on her but it was only a few days since she started to practice using her reflexes against replica human dummies she had summoned, of course she had to do it in secret and away from prying eyes so she did it early mornings before anyone was up down by the black lake.

Hermione stood by the black lake wand raised pointed towards out towards the water, her feet bare feeling the earth and water beneath her feet as she concentrated on the feel of the ripples in the water as she concentrated on them imagining that they were dancing high above their home.

It took only a few seconds before she noticed the change in the water the ripple grew into small waves as a picture formed above the water of a snake the same one she left behind at home. She watched as it danced slowly and majestically in the air, lowering her wand she took a deep breath in before commanding the snake to attack hoping it would listen to her command.

The serpent paused as if thinking for a moment before launching it's watery body at the girl, hermione watched and listened carefully to the sounds around her as she did when she was alone at home helping her sense all around her and when she heard the water come closer she also heard the practice dummy she had spelled so it acted on it own come at her.

Gripping her wand in hand she dived to the side just as the snake come down onto the spot she was just at its body disappearing only for a split second while the dummy swung its bat down towards where she now crouched in the water, casting a quick expelliarmus towards the dummy as she rolled again to the side she sent the dummy back a couple of feet but she as she went to stand the water snake rammed into her full force knocking the wind out of her as well as surrounding her in a large water bubble drowning her.

Hermione had never been close to drowning not ever but now she floated in a large water bubble doing exactly that as panic set in not being able to breath but the logical side of her come into play. She slowly focused on calming herself down enough so she could cast a spell but the more second passed the more she was coming close to drowning so she closed her eyes and focused on the water exploding outwards and when her eyes opened her magic took a hold causing the water the explode letting her drop to the floor coughing for breath.

She waved her wand towards the dummies way and made it disappear before letting herself lay back into the freezing water not bothered by the feeling but she did feel exhausted.

" maybe i need someone else,this isn't exactly helping and i can't be weak anymore" she whispered out into the open air

Closing her eyes Hermione moved so she now floated through the water and not just laying on the shore.

She was enjoying the feeling of feeling free her mind at rest for once but she was startled when she heard someone talking along the shore.

" we really need to get back at her for what she did to us to me "

Hermione frowned as she recognised the voice as non other than draco malfoy

"You know what McGonagall will do if she finds out Draco it's bad enough we are being punished when we go home for the holiday's "

"She is a mudblood crabbe you know where they belong, and its because of her we are getting punished so we must make sure she pay's for it"

" why are we out here though it is to early"

Hermione had enough of listening to them so she made it easy for them and floated back to shore where they were and made sure she had her wand in hand,she walked towards the 3 boys who stood there looking at her she was crazy.

"Can't you just leave me alone malfoy" Hermione stood in front of the blond boy soaking wet from head to toe

"I will leave you alone when you know your place" Draco sneered back at the girl in front of him as he shivered looking at her no doubt freezing considering how cold it was out however she just seemed like it didn't bother her but it bothered him

" i just want to be left alone malfoy it's not hard for you if you just walk right past me but it seems for some reason you can't do the simplest tasks" Hermione ran a hand through her wet knotted hair

Hermione really did want to be left alone but draco was getting on her nerves lately she really didn't figure out why her magic felt like it wanted out. She pointed behind the group

" Mcgonagall is coming this way "

The group like the idiots they were looked behind them to see if the professor was indeed coming but hermione took the opportunity to walk straight past the boys and towards the castle not bothering to worry about her wet self

A/N hey guys so here is a quick update i know i haven't updated for a little bit but every time i write this i get this story and another story of mine mixed up so its a bit all over the place at the moment but hopefully soon it will be better.
