Perseus POV

Zoe and I decided to leave Camp Half-Blood in favor of walking around to see if we could find out where the House of Life has moved on. We left camp in the morning at around ten so we could sleep in some. I had some animals in the nearby cities of alert for me. That way if they came across anything, they would report directly to me.

My lord…there is a situation!

A squirrel came up to me and sat on my shoulder looking at me worriedly. I faced the animal and nodded, signaling for him to continue. There is a strange house in Brooklyn. Very tall, but strange things are happening over there right now. I will lead you my lord. The squirrel explained as it jumped off my shoulder and started running away.

I locked eyes with Zoe and she nodded in affirmation and we took off behind my informant.

After an hour of following the squirrel, we came across exactly what the squirrel had told me. A very tall building that looked like a hotel on top of a warehouse that had been abandoned. I looked up to see part of a pillar fall to the ground next to the base of the building. "Thank you very much. You may carry on with your day, friend." I told the squirrel who bowed back to me and scurried off.

I looked over to Zoe. "How do you want to do this?"

Zoe looked back at me with a smirk. That set alarms off in my head as I got on edge. "I don't like that smile."

"You shouldn't." She responded as she pulled out one of her hunting knives and stabbed herself in the shoulder suddenly. I jumped back, because I initially thought she was going to stab me. But rushed forward and caught her before she pitched forward.

I pulled her into my arms, bridal-style and made my way to the door of the warehouse. I kicked open the door to reveal a group of boys playing basketball. One stopped when he saw the door be kicked open and pointed it out to the others. I stumbled into their view, still carrying Zoe. I looked at each of them, "please help me. She's been stabbed." I gasped out as I took another step over the door frame.

"How did you cross over the frame?" One of them asked, he looked like the one in charge.

"What kind of a question is that? Just please help. I don't know what to do." I told the boy insistently.

"Walt, this guy's blind. We should help him." A girl beside him said, causing me to turn to the sound of her voice.

"No Sadie, only magicians should be able to cross over the wardens of the door without any resistance. But none of us have ever seen him before." Walt replied as he faced me, with a frown.

"Who are you?" He asked sternly.

"Perseus Miles." I replied. "Are you going to help me now?" I repeated myself, exasperated.

"TAS!" He exclaimed as he pointed at me.

Suddenly, thick red ropes wrapped themselves around my arms, legs and wrists, causing to lose my hold on Zoe. As she fell, the girl, Sadie, caught her before Zoe hit the ground. "What the hell are you doing?! I haven't done anything to you!" I yelled back angrily.

"Be quiet! I want to know what you are!" Walt yelled back at me.

"What do you mean by 'what I am'?!" I questioned, putting a confusing tone in my voice.

Walt took a couple steps forward and grabbed my shoulders firmly. He turned to another girl. "Get Carter and Zia. When you get back, heal the girl." The girl nodded and ran off. "You are not one of us, I can tell that. But I don't know how you managed to cross the wardens." Walt stated as he turned back to me.

"You keep talking like you're not human. Are you guys' wizards or something? You keep mentioning wardens and shit like that." I asked, showing an amused smile. "I mean I believe in the Supernatural, but this would be cool to actually know it exists." I continued on, getting some amused expressions from some other boys standing around.

A guy, younger than Walt strode up to me with a grin. "Yes, we are wizards. Too bad you're blind and can't see the spells flying around. I'm pretty sure you would be ecstatic."

"Walt…what's going on here?!" Another guy's voice rang out as two people came into my view. Then, I recognized the boy, he was the one I ran across as he battled the three-headed snake.

This was the right place.

"This guy." Walt started, by poking my chest with his right hand. "Kicked the door open and stepped over the door frame without any difficulty, carrying in that girl. Looks like she was stabbed, but something seems off about him. I wanted to get the both of you just in case."

"Carter, he's blind." The girl beside him whispered.

"I know I am. It's not that hard to miss." I said, bringing everyone's attention to me. The girl and boy were all the way across the room, and they were whispering, yet I had heard what was said.

"How did you hear that?" The girl asked, Zia, I guess.

"When you lose one sense, your other senses over compensate to cover the loss. My ears and nose are my eyes, Zia. I'm surprised that you didn't listen to your mentor when he told you that." I remarked, smiling when I heard staffs and wands being pulled out.

"What do you know of my mentor?!" Zia asked as her staff lit aflame.

"Really Perseus? You had to say that?" Zoe asked as she pulled the knife from her shoulder as the wound healed itself with some shadows that I had used to heal her wound when I carried her inside.

"Sorry Zo. But this wasn't going to go anywhere, anytime soon." I remarked, facing her with a smirk. I looked to Walt and ripped through the ribbons holding me effortlessly. "Sorry about that, but I had to give you the impression that you had me." I apologized before facing Carter. "Where is Iskandar, your Chief Lector?" I asked, crossing my arms over my chest.

"You are in no condition to make demands boy!" Zia roared at me, sending a column of flames in my direction.

I didn't move as I let the flames wash over me until they dissipated. I looked over to Zoe as she took a seat on the ground. "You two could be sisters based on the way you both speak to me when you get worked up." I remarked playfully, earning an eye roll from my wife.

"What exactly are you? No one could survive a spell that powerful like it was nothing." Sadie asked, a little bit in awe.

I turned to her. "If I tell you, will you tell me where Iskandar is?" I asked seriously.

Earning a nod back, I rolled my shoulders and introduced myself. "My name is Perseus Evan Miles. I am the Greek Primordial God of Animals, Assassins, Swordsmanship, Loyalty, Darkness and Senses."

"Oh my gods." That seemed to be the main reply I got from almost everyone that heard me.

"Now where is Iskandar?" I asked, urgently.

"Why have you come to our home, Greek?" Zia snarled at me.

"You are not in a position to make demands, girl. I told you who I am. Now it is your part to answer my question. You do not want to risk the wrath of a primordial. I know that you all faced that snake. But I am much worse if you piss me off." I growled back, clouds of shadows forming armored warriors quickly took my side.

"Zia…it's alright." Carter said, holding his girlfriend behind him. He faced me. "Iskandar died three years ago. How did you know him?" Carter asked, curiously.

"I fought alongside Egypt before it fell to the Romans. I fought alongside the magicians from the First Nome for a couple years. But I was forced to leave because of Iskandar." I explained, getting a look of confusion from most of my audience.

"Why?" Sadie asked.

"Was the path of the gods welcomed when you became a magician?" I asked, the question giving her the answer to her question.

"Even though I was asked for help by Nephthys before the war even started, as she had a hunch there would be war between Rome and Egypt. As the war went on, based on the might of Rome, I knew that Egypt would fall eventually. I requested that Iskandar and the others still alive leave before they are all killed or taken hostage. But Iskandar wouldn't hear of it. Then he confronted me, blaming me for the start of the war even though I had done nothing to start it." I paused taking a deep breath as I pulled Zoe up from her spot on the ground.

"What happened next?" Zia asked.

"He and the other magicians attacked me. They tried to imprison me but I retaliated and escaped from their grasp." I stopped, not wanting to confess what I did.

Carter seemed to notice my hesitation first. "Why are you stopping, it seems like there's more to the story." He asked cautiously.

"I was blinded by rage at being betrayed by the people I was trying to save. And I acted rashly, not thinking I would ever see a magician from the House of Life ever again. I came here to see if Iskandar was still alive after all this time, so I could apologize to him." I answered, kissing Zoe's forehead lightly.

"Why would you need to apologize?" Sadie asked.

"Because I cursed him." I breathed out as I looked at her in regret.

"What do you mean you cursed him?" Zia asked, lighting her staff back on fire.

"I cursed him with the duty to train a dwindling number of recruits each year for two thousand years until he only had one left. And when he realized his mistake of turning on the gods, he would die the next day." I explained, hearing the number of gasps grow as I continued to speak about the curse.

"You monster!" Zia yelled at me as she sent another column of flames at my direction. But I held up my hand, shadows enveloped the flames, dissipating them easily. I could see Sadie crying softly as she looked at me with slight anger. But I heard a sword being drawn and summoned my bracers instantly, blocking the strike behind me, meant for my head with the bracer.

"You are out of you league if you try to face me, eye of Horus." I remarked as I disarmed him before he could say anything. I tossed the blade to the side and faced him again. "That choice was made over two thousand years ago. A decision I've had to live with in shame and regret. But after making that choice, there was nothing I could do about it." I informed him as I sidestepped a slash made by Walt.

I faced him and snapped my fingers, making shadows wrap around the death child. "Anubis…control your host." I commanded.

Instantly, Anubis appeared in front of me. He bowed his head to me. "It is good to see you again Perseus. It's been a long time since we last saw each other. I can see that the Ribbons of Hathor still don't work on you. I remember when Iskandar was so shocked that he fainted on the spot when you broke free." Anubis smiled as I did when he brought up the memory.

"It's good to see you as well Anubis. It's also nice to see that you haven't changed your attire. I imagine that your girlfriend has been trying to get you to change a little bit. That explains the combat boots." I teased, as he lightly blushed and turned away from me.

"How did you know?" Sadie asked, confused as she now stood beside both Walt and Anubis.

"Primordial God of Senses here. I know who everyone's in love with and has feelings for in this building. And not just emotions of love, I also mean lust, sorrow, grief, anger and the other emotions like that." I explained as I looked around the room to everyone with a knowing smile.

I turned back as Zoe stood beside me and wrapped an arm around her waist. "Speaking of senses, we have to go. Important things always come first." I stated in an excited tone.

Zoe looked at me strangely. "What important things? I don't know of any important things that we have to do today." She said seriously.

"Actually we do." I replied as I picked her up bridal-style and started to make my way over to the exit. "The most important thing left to do…is to get you pregnant."

Zoe flushed a dark red at my remark. "PERSEUS!"

The End

Or is it?
